@@awaken24Dubai is really safe hell my parents use to let me and my siblings play outside from 4pm to like 7pm all alone also my English teacher who is Irish said she feels more safe walking around in night time here then in Ireland plus there are places and days for women only like trains or gyms or theme park.(hope this helps😊) my do's for you is simply dress modestly and to talk respectful and no cussing specially in place's there are many kids you can even get a fine for that
Highly recommended: The SHINDAGA Museum - and a stroll in the small busy streets of AL RAS on the other side of the Creek. Also see AL SEEF and BASTAKIYA and then have a nice meal in the near "Arabian Teahouse". 😉
If you do then how about the other 6 emirates in UAE. Very interesting not to mention the part of Oman trapped inside UAE and selling petrol cheaper than UAE surrounding this little enclave on all sides. 😂
I've always wanted to visit there. I never knew about old Dubai. That looks more intriguing and down to earth than the rich part. I think I would probably have more fun in old Dubai hanging out with the locals.
@@kemoy_martincan I ask you if there are black people in relationship with the locals? from what you've seen do you think the population of mixed race children is growing over there
This is all of façade even the old city it’s all constructed to take your money. The city is not even a real city. No infrastructure no city planning to create interaction.
It's been 15 years since I visited Dubai (just 1 day stopover on my way to Hong Kong), and as impressive as the new stuff was, I much more enjoyed the old Dubai.
I think this is pretty normal everywhere you go. For example (me being from London UK) they always show the world Central London, Big Ben, Westminster, Buckingham Palace, but never show our poorer parts. Same for LA, NY, Paris etc
@@Cloudnine422 When I said poorer parts I meant the well less known areas. So for Dubai the main known places being Burj Khalifa and main towers etc. But yes you right this is just the general shopping area
Gold Souk or Spice Souk are not the poorest, they're just old and not good looking. Some of the biggest businesses are based in the area. But its not a pretty place and some parts really stink. Deaira in general is one of the cheapest places to live, thus you find many the poor people living there.
@@latarshawinston7529Arab countries are some of the safest if not the safest countries to bring your kids. Sharia law is a huge reason why it’s so safe. Once you’re missing one hand it’s very unlikely you’ll want to lose your last hand so people are on their best behavior. Also Islam teaches us to be very generous to our guests regardless of faith, skin color, nationality, etc… ❤️
I have been to dubai twice and it's spectacular. I enjoyed the old dubai more because I'm a history nerd, and I love the deals and offers u get while shopping. Also, old dubai is not a secret it's advertised as a must-see place to visit.
I have been to Diera (old Dubai) it is perfectly fine and just like any other place, Dubai has its old historical parts like Diera and its new contemporary parts like JBR and the Marina which are similar to Canary Wharf and Diera being similar to Ilford lane and Green Street in London. (Ilford Lane and Green street are similar to Diera in my opinion with all the gold shops and similar infrastructure)
Y'all need to learn to read. I've not been to Dubai period, let alone old Dubai & also never been to Wales, so can't speak to the validity but he said that JBR & the Marina = Canary Warf. And old Dubai = Ilford Lane & Green Street. He never compared Canary Warf to Ilford or Green or old Dubai at all & only said old Dubai had a similar vibe with the streets from the tons of small gold shops. Idk if this is true as I don't think I went to either of those streets but at least argue against what he actually said. 🤷♀️
@@SaunterVaguelyDown Ah I misunderstood him the first time so fair enough but yes you can't even compare Ilford Lane to Diera. It's not very historic and not very old London either since it wasn't part of London just a century ago. A more apt comparison is someplace like Whitechapel.
I love UAE, especially Old Dubai, with medieval Arab architecture building, house, market and old Arab fort and castle the architecture similar to Oman fort like Jabreem Castle, Nizwa Fort, Bahla Fort etc.
"the real truth dubai" includes virtual slave labour camps where foreigners, mostly indians, reside as part of their (unreasonably underpaid) contract to work at construction.
@@ARMYERS108American? What makes you American the ground you stand on? Which American holidays you respect and celebrate? Which American food you eat? We don’t speak Arabic and we don’t eat halal and we don’t worship Allah ok American
It’s only nice and safe if you’re Arab and/or if you’re mega rich. South Asian migrant workers get their passports stolen and are treated like slaves, and the human trafficking there is insane. Sharia law also partially exists in the UAE, which makes for deeply sexist and violent laws. Literally r*pe victims have gotten sentenced for “premarital s*x” Many complaints can be made for the US, but at least everyone has basic human rights (even if it’s just on paper). You actually sound dumb for saying that the UAE is a better country. Modern slavery is practiced in the open there, and minorities don’t even have equal rights on paper much less practice.
@@PresidentofthepresidentDubai, Qatar, and UAE, even is not in the top 10 in having the most slaves.Slaves in India, China, North Korea, and Nigeria far surpassing the numbers of slaves in all of the Arabs country combined.
❤what a beautiful and wonderful place to visit. When my Aunt and Mother were alive a few years back they went there. The are Irish and enjoyed the trip as much as Ireland. They said the people were truly lovely, you felt truly safe there, and everyone seemed so gracious and welcoming. I’m glad they truly enjoyed their trip. I miss them both. So, when I see pictures of Dubai it reminds me of my Aunt in CA. Showing me loads of pictures she had taken in her home. Hope to take a visit there too sometime in the future. Have a great day to all the lovely people in Dubai. Love ❤️ from Florida🌴♥️🌹☘️🌲Kathie and have a beautiful day!
Loved Dubai and the UAE! I would spend almost every weekend there or Abu Dhabi when I lived in that part of the world 12 years ago. Glad to see others are finally catching on! I wear my Emeriti jewelry daily
As if they haven't locked up black people in amerikkka for no reason in every day of it's existence. The fbi called mlk the most dangerous man in amerikkka. They killed plenty of civil rights activists and just black people in their homes doing nothing.
I grew up in old Dubai (1974-2000) and I loved the country. It was exciting, humbling and safe to grow up in! We lived initially at a residential compound next to the trade centre as it was being built (a project my father worked on as a purchasing manager). My brother and I aged 6 or 7 wandered into the desert on our own and met up with local Bedouin Arabs who were kind, entertaining and educational even though we couldn’t speak Arabic at that age. It was a different Dubai to what it is today; it had a wild side while also being safe. InShallah (God’s will) was a very common phrase!
Also the best food was shawarmas that we used to buy at a roadside place between Jebel Ali and Dubai, called ‘Eat & Drink’ freshly juiced fruit drinks and chicken or mutton shawarmas (similar to a kabab but much much nicer!). Never had anything as good as that food!
Old Dubai with its narrow streets is so much better to me. It feels like a real place unlike the giant skyscraper car depended area everyone is familiar with.
If anyone goes here, I highly suggest you dress like a local and blend in as much as possible. I would even suggest if you're a woman, to wear an abaya and headscarf. It might be harder to mesh if you're blonde and blue eyed lool but try. Otherwise, you're going to get heckled by every single shopkeeper you pass. They all want you to buy their stuff. We are Middle Easterners, but we had backpacks and were dressed as obvious tourists. Visiting Old Dubai was the most stressful part of my trip. All the Indians and Pakistani shopkeepers will just keep calling out and following you untill you leave the area
