Try ironing the floor with oil stain. Use some cotton fabric. It may bring the oil out. It looks wonderful!!!

I always overlap my wall paper around the corner about an inch. Then cut down the corner through all layers and removing the excess.

Wow great progress!! Good on you for priming the drywall first. Hanging wall paper is hard, especially in an old crooked house.. I just start on the wall behind you when you walk in the door because it never ends great, don't worry about it being perfect. I thought it was so smart of you to only glue half the wall cuz it's really a two man job.

I’m certainly not a pro at hanging wallpaper but I’ve done my share over the years. I have never used anything but pasted wallpaper. I feel like I can control it better. Just take your time, don’t use too much paste and make sure you get the air bubbles out as you go. I have a home built in 1934 and the corners in the rooms were not straight or square. You may find out that in order to make the paper at least look straight in those corners is to slightly overlap. This worked for me and is not noticeable. You do learn as you go. As you said, you have to find out what works for you in your house. Wallpaper is beautiful especially in older houses. It just makes a room so cozy. Keep up the good work. It’s looking great!!!!

That is exactly what I had to do. I ended up having to line up the pattern the best I could but overlap in some spots to make it perfectly straight. Thank you so much!

It's coming along - looking good! I really like the wall paper, it's going to be so pretty. It will be nice to have the floors finished; I like that they're unique, original to the house and there's some "special" conversations spots! Nicely done!

I found overlapping the paper in the corners worked best for me. I allowed a few extra inches at the top and side that I was overlapping so that I could move it up down left right until it matched up. That’s what worked for me.

Just do the best you can with matching the seams even brand new houses aren’t perfect and once you have the wallpaper up around the room no one will see the small Imperfections.

So far anywhere there is an imperfection it isn't noticeable at all. I found that wallpaper can hide alot.

The best advice I ever received was from my father in law when we were painting and wallpapering our new house..."paint your closets white in every room, that way if you change your wallpaper or paint your room a different color you don't have to clear out the closet to change it too." You're doing a great job Sarah. I love all your videos and can't wait to see more!

If you want to lighten the stains on the floor use liquid bar keepers friend. Cover the stain with it then put Saran Wrap over it and let set overnight. Or you can make a paste out of the powdered b k f with a little water.

Most generally I am not a fan of wallpaper, BUT then i think that is goes great in old farmhouses and this print is so pretty. I like stained wood and doors. Our last home was an old farmhouse home built in like 1890, and had the most beautiful trim around the doors, baseboard trim and somewhere along the way, someone decided to paint them. Ruined them because by the time we bought the place, it had layers and layers of flaked off, cracked paint. Ugh, I swore I would never paint a wooden door or trim again. So now we stick to light stain and poly. Eventually sold that place and bought a way way way smaller home with a lot of land. It's cabin style and we have just started the renovations. This will be mostly plained down rough cut, luan with the look of board and batten. My mind is just full of ideas. BUT my husband is like 🤦‍♂️ oh crap, another fixer upper. Hahhahahaha. We both swear this was our last move until we retire and have a tiny home built down back on this land. Give this house to one of our kid's. 😂😂😂😂😂

I was never a fan of wallpaper and in the beginning I said I would never put it in our house, but now I love it! Trying to remove all the layers of paint they have put on everything is such a pain. I bet it will be so beautiful when you are finished renovating!

Neither of us really grew up on farms. His family had a few cows growing up and both our families raised gardens. But the majority of what we do now we have learned on our own.

Never been more excited for a video. I’m in love with that wall paper! It would look so good with that door dark stained like what’s in your kitchen! I actually like when there are different wood tones, feels more organic and homey. It’s going to look so beautiful when it’s done! So exciting!

The walls are not "square ". When the sill, what the house sits on has rotted, can cause the house to go off square. Old houses are lovely. Check out the sill.

Our sill has been checked and is fine. Nothing in our house is perfectly "square" or "straight" just part of having an old house.
