This looks delicious! Also, I want to say thank you for showing your "mistake" when the caramel boiled over - I think a lot of people would have done it the same way, so now we all know! I'm glad that it seems nobody got a bad sugar burn. It would have been very easy to cut that moment out and just say later "don't add the baking soda too soon or it'll boil over", but you left it in for us :)
I'm learning a lot from you but mostly, I just love how you speak to your kids! The mutual respect and family time warms my heart! Tell your kids that they're wonderful helpers 😃
Looks delicious. Ruth Ann, I have to say, Y’all are the real deal. You not editing out your spill over was awesome. Showing what can happen was very helpful. Your children’s antics while still helping out was great. I hope y’all have a Christmas and awesome reunion with your family and siblings.
I thought the same!! Thanks so much for sharing the boil over...and how you handled it. We learn from it all!! So exciting that you are going to be with all of your siblings for Christmas. Such a blessing!! We'll be anxious to hear about it next week!! God Bless and Merry Christmas!
Your channel has become our favorite thing to watch in the evenings. We've been gardening, canning, cooking, etc., for a number of years, but we always learn something new from you. Thank you so much for sharing your information, your family life and your lovely self with all of us. I think it's wonderful how so many people are getting back to basics in life.
I refused to buy any of those holiday popcorn tins today at the grocery store because of all the unhealthy oils and chemical preservatives. So this is exactly the recipe I needed to make my own for gifts. Thank you Ruth Ann! ❤️🎄🍿
Your popcorn looks great! There will be some smiling faces when your family digs into the caramel popcorn. It is so nice that you will all be able to get together this year to share the Christmas holiday. Enjoy all of the visiting and catching up that goes on at these occasions. Merry Christmas!
I love your videos and love making foods to give as gifts. My eldest son is getting married in November and absolutely LOVES popcorn. When he was in the Army and deployed in Iraq I shipped him a microwave and cases of popcorn so I think this is going to be an amazing thing to make for the family for the long weekend of their wedding
I’m so excited, you posted exactly what I needed! I have been looking for recipes that don’t use corn syrup - and here is one I was looking for. Thank you! ~Danielle
I made 6 gallons of homemade caramel corn this week. My recipe calls for corn syrup and it never occurred to me that maple syrup could be used instead. I bet yours is delicious and I'm sorry I won't be able to try it out until some point next year. I also add cocktail peanuts to mine. Thank you for another wonderful video. Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
@@Cassieroll I pour the caramel over the popcorn and then dump the nuts on top before stirring. They don't stick to the popcorn but are a nice addition. I make it every year because the family all asks for it. I'm really looking forward to trying out the maple syrup version!
My mother was a candy maker and often had her batches start to boil over. She would take a larger tablespoon of cream and drip some of the cream into the boiling candy. Just a few drops settles it right down and of course you don't want to use any more than a few drops at a time. She did it when she made peanut brittle, caramel and fudge. I miss her peanut brittle at Christmas time. It was so delicious and a special treat.
Wow Ruth I believe Kendrick and Harrison have grown at least a foot in the last four months 😮. Popcorn looks delicious Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.God Bless and Please be safe in your travels.🙏🎄😊❤️
Thank you Ruthann for a wonderful surprise video, what a treat for us 🥰 bless you and all your family and hope you all have a lovely holiday renunion, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Debi and Family in the UK ❤
I make maple flavored popcorn. After the corn pops, I put it into a large bowl, then melt some butter in the pan and add some maple syrup to it. I pour the maple and butter mixture over the popcorn, add salt and mix it together. It is a little sticky, but does not clump up at all. Delicious! Sometimes I grate some sharp cheddar cheese over the popcorn instead of using maple syrup. Also delicious!
Wow! Not only did you post exactly what I’ve been looking for for weeks, but your sweet family was such a blessing to me. Being a mom of five, two of them boys, I appreciated the car cameo your son Kendrick did 😂
I love to make kettle corn in my popper. Its 1/4c sugar, 1/4c oil, 1/2c popcorn, and 1/2-1tsp salt. Dump it all in the pot and keep stiring. Tastes just like the fair but for WAY less.
This is so awesome. I baked banana nut and pumpkin nut breads yesterday and was planning to do more things today. I had everything to make this so I made a double batch. It is absolutely delicious. I tried some and had to make myself put it down!! Thank you so much!! Merry Christmas to you and your family! I hope you have a wonderful time at the reunion. I am so happy for you!
Watching the boys help you in the kitchen blessed my heart and made me smile many times. I also love watching how you interact with your children. I admire it.
Kendrick showing his cars brought a smile to my face😊. Merry Christmas and happy reunion with the family. I love your attitude even during the messy boil over. So many things going on and everyone helping shows a happy home.
Hi Ruth Anne and happy new year! Ive just found your channel & love you down to earth work! It's so refreshing to see such wholesome goodness in family love, traditional recepies and the beauty of country living. I live in Perth,Western Australia, where its hot summer now. I love your cooking utensils ,popcorn pot & electric beater.i saw your big dough mixer in the post you did on cinnamon rolls. Im curious to know where you got them & if easy to purchase. I like cooking but im not anywhere good like my Mother who is now amost 86yrs old , born in Italy & immigrated to Australia with her parents & little bro back in 1957. Ive learnt alot from her just watching as a youngster. Its a rea blessing you're passing on to your children (& us wordwide ), what you yoursef learnt from your parents. May God bless you & your family. Im excited to watch future (& past) episodes. ♥️🙏 From Maria ,Australia,🇦🇺🐨
Another great recipe video 😋🤤. RuthAnn I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I love seeing the little boys helping out.🎄🎅🙏🫂❤️
Thanks for the recipe! I wanted to make some for my son without all the additives in the store bought products. You started my day with happy memories of my own childhood, living in the country on my grandmother's farm. Such a peaceful and wonderful place. Wishing a wonderful reunion with your family and safe travels.
It's too bad that all families could not be like yours the kids are so cute. Your a blessing to them. What beautiful popcorn. Even your animals love it.
Our recipe for Carmel popcorn is so very similar! I think the only difference is that it has both maple syrup and honey in it instead of the corn syrup & brown sugar.
Thank you RuthAnn and children! That was fun and instructional! I'm looking forward to trying this recipe using maple syrup! Happy Christmas and blessings always! 🤶🎄💜
I needed to know how to make this, RuthAnn! My adult grandkids have been asking for this. I want to make it for their goodie bags. Eleven grands from 22-29. Six boys and 5 girls. Also, 5 great grands. I have never made caramel in my life, so I’m going to try…thank you. By the way, My daughter’s name is Ruth Ann. We call her Annie 🥰
Thank you for showing us and sharing your recipe.. I found myself smiling the whole time I’m watching you and your children making popcorn! A happy home 😊 God is so good. God Bless you all
I've had a recipe I've used for years that doesn't use corn syrup, uses honey instead. I think I'll try yours this year, tho,the maple syrup sounds really good!
I have the same popcorn cooker. This is the only way we have popcorn. I’ll have to try salting the popcorn when I make it for caramel popcorn. I’ve always just used plain popcorn for it.
Oh I love caramel popcorn!! Thank you for sharing this recipe. My family, especially my grandbabies, will enjoy making this together. Might be another Christmas tradition. Woohoo!
I love all your antiques you use in kitchen. What great helpers you have. They will know how to make all sorts of things as they grow up. The popcorn looked amazing. To all of you, Have a wonderful safe and healthy Christmas!
Yum! I'm definitely going to try this recipe! My kids are going to love it! I loved seeing the kiddos helping and the amazement in your boys face when watching you cut the cheese curds! ❤
Not being nosy just interested in your life. How many of the children did you adopt or all of them are yours except the one boy? Because you sure don't look like you have had eight children.❤❤❤❤I love watching you. Learning things.
It looks delicious and I am so glad it doesn’t use corn syrup. I can’t wait to try it. Thank you for the recipe and Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family. Praying for safe travels for everyone.
That looks delicious. I think I'm going to try making some for Christmas. I love that you show the little mistakes and messes. Also that you get right in with your hands for some of the chores. Sometimes they are the best tool for the job. You can always wash the hands and clean up the messes.
Thank you for sharing!! We love caramel corn and this will be delicious with the maple syrup. I love watching your videos - so real. The cows getting out and the coating mixture bubbling up and over are normal everyday life. You handled it all beautifully. God bless you and your family.
This caramel corn recipe looks so yummy, but I can't eat it because I'm a type 2 diabetic. And this is way too much sugar. But I enjoyed watching you create this delicious caramel corn. Thank you for the video.
My goodness. This is definitely a labor of love. I can imagine it’s absolutely delicious ❤❤ It makes me happy to see your smile about being able to share the holiday with your siblings. ❤
Just love you and your family! Thank you for the great footage and tips, now and throughout the year. And I see you have a budding drummer, what fun for you! 🙂 I'm married to a drummer and we have a few drum sets on the property (priorities, right?). Merry Christmas to you all!
I just tried a recipe that I think you and your family will enjoy. Whip maple syrup (30 minutes on high in the mixer) table spoon fulls and mix in the popcorn then sprinkle with salt and it is yummy. Let me know if you all like it.
Happy holiday. The calves are getting so big! Adorable. I love how your kids help in the kitchen. Mine used to love to help too. Now it’s my grandkids that help.
Such a nice surprise, extra video! Loved seeing Kendrick he’s a great helper, like all the children. Nice cars too! Wishing your family a blessed Christmas. ❤️🙏🏻Val C
We LOVE caramel corn. A must each year at the Holiday get togethers. I saw how much room was left in your pan as you put in the soda and Said OH NO!! I knew what was going to happen. Been there done that. 😊
So glad I follow your channel😊. I love it and perfect timing I was just about to look up a recipe because I won’t use HFC either!! I want to add peanuts though.
Love it...this brought back memories of my mom making caramel corn🥰 Kendrick is adorable with his cars...I'm so glad I found your channel. It's been amazing following you this year! Many blessings and safe travels during the holidays. Merry Christmas 🎄☃️❄️
I love bonus Wednesday videos❣And since my husband loves caramel popcorn, I will try this recipe and surprise him. Thank you for sharing your time, knowledge and family with us! 🥰
The boys do seem a lot taller. Time flies by so quickly. Your daughter is just so “matter of factor”, so sweet. Do you foster children and if so, will you foster this 70 year old woman? I’ve had hip replacement a couple of months ago but I’m sure I can help and be part of your wonderful family. My kids are all grown up. I can teach piano and teach sewing techniques. I will try to earn my keep if fostering an older woman pops up. Merry Christmas! I love watching all of your family and feel like I just live next door.
Oh my goodness. Watched this. Printed the recipe right away and got to work on it today! Sooooooo good!! When you say lightly salt heed the instructions 🙈. I used TOO much 🤦🏻♀️. It’s still really really good. Best I’ve ever had and this is actually the first time I’ve ever even tried to make any. Thank you so much for sharing! Blessings to you and yours this holiday season.
