Old fashioned Homemade Angel Food Cake 

When you made this video in April 2019 you said you had reached 1000 subscribers. Today, July 30, 2019 you have over 17000 subs. Your channel is growing in leaps and bounds and it's not hard to see why. You are such a sweet lady and I enjoy watching you cook, or just chat and show us around your homestead. I have very recently found your channel and love it. You are a joy to watch.

Oh my goodness, how badly do I feel that I used to beg my grandma to make this all the time?? I had no idea as a child that it was so much work. She's 94 now and she says no, she won't make me any more. Bless her heart, now I know the reason. 💓

This was my Dad's FIRST Birthday cake, made by his Mom.Gram made it for his birthday every year until he went into the Army and was away from home. When he got out and settled in another state of course other cakes were made. But when his folks moved to our area it was enjoyed by all. She put so much love into it and usually topped it with I think it was called a "Seven minute frosting", made on the stove. Anyway thank you for the memory of that. You are a special lady. *LK*

My angel food cake pan looks exactly yours. Mine belonged to my granny who's been gone for 18yrs now. I still use it to bake spice cake. I will have to try your angel food cake recipe, it looks so delicious! Funny how something like an old cake pan can bring back some of the best memories of our lives. I love Angel food cake, I make an Angel food cake peach cobbler in my cast iron Dutch oven, except I use a store bought 1 can club soda, line the Dutch oven with foil, 2 Tablespoons of butter, teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, 3/4 cup brown sugar 1 can drained peaches, pour Angel food cake badder cook on top of stove or camp fire until lid rises it usually takes 20-30 min it's very moist and delicious 😋

Angelfood was my father's favorite cake. We always had it for his birthday. Although he's been gone for many years now, whenever I hear angelfood mentioned it reminds me of him. My Mom, years ago would make Angel Food Cake for my birthday every year, but because my birthday is so close to Christmas, she crunched up candy canes and put the pieces in my cake. My grandma raised hundreds of hens for the hatchery. We gathered eggs 3 times a day. Gran got to keep all the out of shape eggs, the soft shell eggs, and any cracked eggs. She made at least 2 angelfood cakes a month. They were delicious! She would usually serve with fruit, canned or fresh. I loved to watch her make them. She did it all by hand too.no electric mixer at her house because she had no electricity.

I love home made angel food cake. We have chickens too, so this is a popular cake at our house. To tell you the truth, I fold the flour/sugar mixture using the mixer with the flat hook on the lowest setting. I drop it in a tablespoon at a time. It works out fine.

My late Aunt Pearl would always make an angel food cake for us on our birthdays. Her chocolate angel food was my favorite

Beautiful cake! Brings back memories. I have the egg whip that my mother used to make meringues and cakes. My mother-in-law put her egg whites in a big platter and whipped them with a fork. It does seem like with an electric mixer I could get up energy to make an angel food cake. You are right-- they are so much better than store-bought. I love your sweet, peaceful approach. I loved my late mother’s homemade angel food cake. She made cakes, fudge, pralines, divinity, and date nut cookies, bourbon soaked fruit cake. She is the only person who ever made good fruit cake. She spent hours mincing every candy fruit and nut. Sooooo good! I miss her after almost ten years gone from us.
