This channel is like going home. I found you because I’m cooking up a bunch of pears for pear butter and jelly. My granny and pawpaw have long passed, but I swear I hear them in your stories. This has been a blessing to me. Thank you.
Me and my wife were married 42 years before her getting covic and passed away in November! We cooked a lot together until her health started going down after nursing over 40 years! I still do a lot of cooking and canning for the kids and grandkids! Love all ya’s videos and recipes!
I was so excited about you making pear preserves,my husband's favorite preserves. Can't wait to make them. The stories are precious and I laughed sooo hard. Thank you Miss Lori And Mr Brown.
Oh my gosh I love these stories.. I love how your husband helps you my hubby is like that to.... Y'all can just keep right on talking I really like the stories of your life... God Bless..
Miss Lori, I felt like I was sitting at the other side of the table with you two telling your stories of when you were kids. I fell in love with Eddie Guy when I was 16 and a half. We have been married coming up first week of December 47 years. I am, also, in love with your channel and everything you do. Will you just please keep sending out those beautiful recipes and your beautiful Chit Chat. ❤ Soo Glad you guys are on the mend. Margie, Eddie and Colleen Guy from southern Maryland "Hanging with the Guys"
I love listening to your stories! Y’all remind me of my parents. My mom was a lunchroom lady and my dad farmed, fished, hunted and anything else to make a living. I’ve lost both of them now, so watching you two brings back old memories and makes me smile!
Love, love, LOVE these "chit chat"vids! While I definitely appreciate the process of the peeling, cutting, and canning the preserves, the chit chat is what I came for. You guys are NEVER boring. You're the reason we all come by, after all. You just keep telling your wonderful life stories, and we'll keep listening. God bless you, both.
Happy Anniversary Ms Lori and Mr Brown, my husband and I celebrated 43 years in July. We were high school sweethearts met when we were 13, so we been together 47 years. I enjoyed y'all stories, felt like I was right there with you and have known you forever. Love you both and many blessings, hope your well soon. Happy early Birthday Mr Brown 🙏🙏❤❤
Mesmerising. No professionally made film with high production values, elaborate sets and a script could beat you two peeling and chopping pears and reminiscing in your homestead kitchen. Wonderful.
Greetings from an old woman in western WA state. I've been told I have ancestors from Ireland(McClannahan) and was sorry not to have been able to see your beautiful country the almost dozen years I lived in Switzerland many many years ago. The little haunted cottage sounds quaint and homey and everything I envision Irish! My heart is so pleased just to hear a word from the far-off land of my origin. God Bless and pardon my intrusion.👵🌲💖🐕🌹🍀😊
I live in Co. Waterford in an old cottage with a very silly Edward and two very silly Jack Russell pups. What is your Irish family name? Cee from the little haunted cottage in Ireland 💚💚💚🍀🍀🍀
Those pears look delicious! Nice to see Mr Brown as always and nice to have him helping you tonight. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary! Hope you enjoy many more anniversaries to come. You both bring so much happiness to all of us.
I’m so glad y’all are doing a little better! I so enjoyed listening to your stories and wisdom while you worked together, and it felt like I was right there with y’all. Love you both!
I love hearing about your life. My husband and I are high school sweethearts. We have been together for 28 years and married for 24. We have had a lot of hard times too but I couldn’t imagine my life without him. Much love to both of you. 🥰❤️
Love hearing you reminiscing. When I’m cutting fruit or vegetables that have to be measured, whether it be by quart or cup or whatever , I know I’m easily distracted and lose count of my filled measured units, so for every time I dump a filled one into a larger container, I place one little piece of whatever fruit or vegetable I’m cutting on the counter to keep a count of how many units I’ve cut.
I'd be willing to bet that neither one of you stopped for a minute even tho you were sick!!! I love you both and love your videos. Make them an hour. God Bless you!!
So glad you are both on the mend. I was worried. Love your stories. Thank you for sharing. And remember...there are always good people to find when we pay attention to see them everyday. Happy Birthday Danny!
My husband Michael helps me with canning and preserving also . We really enjoyed doing our vegetables together. It is, very rewarding. Thank you for your videos I've learned a lot from you guys.
I really enjoyed listening to you two talk! It was fun, heartwarming and amazing! So talented, the both of you. Brings me back to my visits on my grandparents farm; harvesting, cooking and learning! 👍🏾😍
Awe..Mr Brown also gets involved with making preserves. What a great team you two are..I so enjoy watching you both ..from Canada. Im making biscuts later ..Ive not made any in years.
You always take me back to the farm. So many good memories. This reminds of my kids wanting to hear stories of "when you were a kid Mom". Thank you both for your channel...you are many favorites. God bless you both.
I'm so happy I watched this. This is the first time I've seen and heard a lot from Mr Brown. He reminds me so much of my Dad. He was ex Army, very quiet til he had somethin to say, and all of 5 feet 1 inch tall. His voice, wording, even the tempo is my Dad's. He passed away when I was 16. So I cried a lot then rewatched again. Bless you both for comin into my home and bringin me good memories.
Happy Anniversary ! loved the story of you two meeting.. I enjoy all your stories and I definitely don't get bored.. You two make a good working team! I don't think I would sleep well knowing someone was going to show up at any time and take me to the creek.lol Love you both.. Thank you sweet friends
Mr. Brown and Lori, I can not tell you when I have enjoyed anything more than watching you two peel pears. it is 3 A.M.ish and I couldn't sleep, so I got up and came in and turned on the computer, and watched y'all peel pears. Ya'll are my kind of people. My husband and I are okies, high school sweethearts, and we just celebrated 44 years of marriage. Love you both!!! Feel better soon!
I know this was a year ago, but I've never seen this video. I'm so glad I found it . I love when ya'll tell your stories. Plus we get to see how y'all make pear preserves. I loved every second of it !! Y'all are such a blessing. God bless you both..!! Love ya bunches !! ❤❤
I just love y"all's kitchen....so country-fied. I love the longer talking & preserving videos with you BOTH!! you two can never be boring at all so keep them coming. I could sit and listen to you for hours! I have saved so many of your baking & canning videos. Sending prayers for speedy recovery of the cold bug. God bless...until next time

I love you both.Thank you both for your prayers. I would love to see a video on how Mr. Brown makes his Saw Mill Gravy please. God Bless You and Mr. Brown. Hugggggs
loved the stories, I am old enough that the chivalry and the snipe hunting brought back my own happy memories, and I enjoyed the how to on the pears also... You guys have something special in your relationship, that is a joy to see..
When I was a teenager living in MA, I dreamed of moving to the Appalachia's, find a small town and learn from everyone there how to live off the land. My mom never liked to cook and I wanted to learn how to do everything from scratch. That dream was back in the 70's and I'm now in my 50's. Your videos just made my dream come true! I love watching you both. What a great blessing you both have become! So many people don't know these simple things and your how-to videos far surpass any book I could get at a library! Thank you so, so much!
Thank you so much, we were raised homesteading, still homesteading, You can do it too Big or small, you can make a homestead, and go back to the old ways! Xoxoxo
So glad your back and feeling better!! My honey and me have been together 35 years!! Y’all are an inspiration. PS you also inspire me to keep cooking even after all these years.
I so enjoy your videos! Y’all are the match made in heaven!! I try not to miss any videos! I hope y’all get well soon. Can’t wait for part 2 of canning pear preserves.
Mr.&Mrs. Brown, I'm officially homesick now. Being from Alabama and watching you all together brings back some fond memories. No place like home and you both make me feel at home. God bless and keep you both, congratulations on your anniversary. I will be picking pears soon.
Love your stories. Y'all sitting there peeling pears makes me remember the pear peeling parties we used to have. All the aunts and us girls would get together and peel bushels of pears. There were a lot of stories told (and a little bit of gossip, haha).
Happy Anniversary! My husband and I will celebrate our 49th on New Year's Eve. I love listening to your stories! Many years ago, when some friends were married, they had a chivaree, but I haven't heard of anything like it since then here in NW Illinois. I'm so sorry to hear you've been sick. Sending prayers your way. Love to you both! Looking forward to part 2 of your pear video.
Trying to remember some of moms canning techniques today. 66 and learning it all over again. Teaching my daughter and grandchildren, hopefully they will pass it along. You caught moms techniques to a tee! You remind me so much of my own life, hubby in his bibs, me barefooted in the garden, fighting the old Arthritis and 49 years of marriage to my childhood sweetheart. Thanks so much and God bless.
I am new to this channel. At age 69 years old, I have never scanned, or made preserves. I am now watching your videos. I love the step by step directions. Your video is so helpful and ibspiring.
Snipe hunting runs through the United States. Here in Washington when I was growing up we would beg to go snipe hunting. Our parents were in on the prank and it made you feel like a fool but it was all good fun. We had shiverres but it would be the entire neighborhood and they would bang pots and pans sing songs and then they would break out the food and the best wishes for the new bride and groom. I love that you share stories like you have...makes me recall the memories of the past. God bless you both.
Thank the Lord for folks like you two. The chivalry story was awesome! I love the simplicity of your recipe for making pear preserves. I would help my Granny make preserves when I was a child. Over my 71 years I have forgotten a lot of the good old days, but after watching you all's video it's starting to come back a little at a time. I am going to try the pear butter next. Thanks again. frj
OMGosh!!! Thank you, thank you and THANK YOU!!! :-) I haven't laughed so hard in such a LONG time, and I feel I truly needed it. That first few seconds, and then him giving you that "WHAT!" look, same as I use to get from my late old cat, Winston. I use to just LOVE watching him 'do his thing', no matter what it was, and for some reason, he just hated it more than anything else. If I watched him for too long, he would literally go to 'Mommy' and complain to her about it, and next thing I would hear, "Honey, please stop bugging Winston. He's aggravating me about it again! I'm trying to work here!!!" Gosh, I really miss them both. Good memories, good times and good people like y'all make it all worthwhile for this lonely "Old-fart". Thank you.
Anne Ramirez Sissy passed away back in 2004. The really ironic or sad thing is that it was on her birthday, and that's sort of a hard day for me. But like the old sage will say, time does help to heal wounds. Anne, thank you for sharing. "Old-fart" here really appreciates it, Hun.
Marlene Sistrunk I've participated in a chivaree. We made the groom push his bride in a wheelbarrow around the town square as part of it. When my husband and I were married 41 years ago I was 18 and he was 23. We told everybody we were going out of town and hid our car in a neighbor's garage. Then we snuck back home. Nobody caught us and we never turned a light on. Nobody found us. :)
Chivaree (also Charivari) is a word I did NOT know when my husband's brothers came over banging on our little mobile home late one night after we got home from our brief little three day honeymoon! It was purely them being aggravating...I don't think we knew there was a word for it... but I reckon, after hearing this, I was lucky it was just a racket and nobody got kidnapped! 😂 I guess it comes as no surprise that this bunch took me snipe huntin' too! 😉🤭🐦 🤣
Love your chitchats so real!!Speaking of anniversary’s my husband an I are coming up on 57 years in November, where did the years go.We too work side by side like you and Mr.Brown, love you both and love your life stories.❤️Barb
My sweet mama met daddy at 13. Got married and had 3rd baby by 17. Pregnant with her 5th at 19. Raised 7 girls and 6 boys. Worked harder than any mule. We didn't waste. Even cooked the apple peelings down, put them through a colander and made apple butter. Just keeping us bathed and to wash our clothes was a full time job. But she picked blackberries, took care of the chickens and pigs...sold eggs. Anything it took to raise her kids. Even got a job in the shirt factory. Prayed almost non stop. She's in heaven now.
Awww...... I love the chit chat. Y'all's story is one made of the kinda love most dream of. My mister and I have been married for 26 years but together 31.
I could listen and re-listen to your stories again and again and never get bored. You two are a hoot. Your stories are the best. I was born, raised and live in the city and I long for the life you have. I truly life vicariously through you two.(Sounds so creepy, or like one of those crazy coots runnin' in the hills.) I watch you every morning as I get ready to head into work. You are literally therapeutic for me. I appreciate your stories, your hilarious spirits and your willingness to share your life with those of us who tune in. God bless you both!
🤣Love the stories! We seem to be about the same age, life was so much simpler and fun back then! The world is scary now a days but the good people out there out ways the bad ;) Do hope ya both feel better soon ❤️
Oh my I just love to hear your stories. I remember on Sundays at Grandma's after church and Sunday Dinner we would all gather in living room or outside on the swing and listen to all those stories. I really miss those days. I have the memories since Grandparents and Parents are gone. God bless to both of you.❤️

Ms Lori y’all do your preserves like I do. Such a fun video. I love hearing your stories. I think just about everyone in the South has been Snipe hunting. I did. It made me so mad lol. My Son got to go Snipe hunting. After the fact it was funny but for a long time I was so mad. Lol. Great video Ms Lori and Mr Brown. I have so enjoyed the pies y’all are all doing. I’ve got a lot of good recipes. Thank y’all so much.
I could sit and listen to you both all the time, I feel like I am on the other side of the table from you and it is so enjoyable, reminds me so much of my young teen years when I would sit and listen all the time to grandpa and grandma and all the stories from when they came over on the boat and how they got started here in America. I can't go one day without my Miss Lori and Mr. Brown fix, you all take care now, Love, Barb (aka Bruska) my name in Czech
I really enjoyed hearing your stories tonight. Reminded me of when I was a little kid listening to the grownups tell their stories, and I know I’m older than you all! You’re funny and I can just tell you’ve had a good life together, hard at times as it may have been. Thank you for sharing them and gifting a truly warm home felt evening. Miss Lori your voice was sounding a little raspy. I hope you didn’t use all the lemons so you could take a spoonful of honey and lemon. Thank you again for sharing.
Love to listen to you and Danny. Your stories are great. Congrats on your wedding anniversary. Wishing you many more. Mr. Danny - you need to go to the doctor also. Love you guys - blessings always.
@@dannybrown1085 I know men are stubborn - but your cough sounds bad. Just go and get your antibiotics so you will feel better. We all love you and Ms. Lori - take care of yourselves. Please!!!!!!!!!!!
Those pears looks good and I like them good looking tomatoes also. Y’all was talking about shivery, that sounds like some good clean fun. Now days people will shoot at you and not in the air. May God Bless you may you be whole, well and healed in Jesus name.
I guess this video was done two years ago and I’m just now seeing it but I can’t tell you how comforting it was to be able to sit down and rest after canning and dehydrating, to just sit peaceably with my cup of tea and listen to you and Mr. Brown just having a conversation tell stories it was wonderful. Thank you so much for doing this video. I had just finished watching you do blueberry and peach preserves. They are next on my list of things to do. Well right after my tomatoes that is.
Hey Mrs Lori love this video so much😍❤️❤️ I absolutely love pears! You guys are amazing together. My husband just won’t be on camera but that is okay. But we would both be too shy to talk very much probably! Lol Sending you so much love from Louisiana!---Tressa Daigle
