Nice play binder find. I’m just glad to have found my old binders from my parents house and feel nostalgic. To find a binder of old Magic today is exceptionally rare.
This is the binder of someone who got into MtG around 1996-1997. My binder, back then, looked like that. Dual lands were worth maybe $5 back then, with all the non-basic land hate around. It is the binder of someone who built their, fairly casual, maybe type 2 decks out of this binder. Really cool find. Force of Will was like $25 even back then.
Talk about a blast from the past. This binder is full of cards from the exact time I started playing. A friend had just given me a ton of revised, 4th, and ice age. Tempest, Mirage, and visions was still on the shelves at gamestop. great find.
A guy I work with knows I like magic he asked if I wanted his dad's old mtg collection for free ,I said yes so I got it and inside it had two tropical islands, two lion eyes diamonds, phyrexian dreadnought, lake of the dead and other reserve list stuff i was shaking
This is a typical binder of the years 1995 until 1998. During this time period the MTG player population exploded and WOTC lowered the power level of the cards compared to the early years. Interesting is how the value of cards has changed over the years due to Commander.
Back 6-7 years ago I remember having a force of will was like a symbol of MTG royalty, it was crazy. But it's been reprinted now and it's become more accessible, though it's still not cheap. Trading is the way to go IMO
I'm sure you know this already, but for anybody reading, please be careful with ring binders. They can end up damaging cards with dings and bumps. If you still want a ring binder, look for the D-Ring style, instead of circle, to keep pressure off the edge.
Lol i had everything back in the day i was a teenager. I had 4 of eack dual land and played them without sleeves. They were $10 - $20 each back then. I also had anything else big. Moxes lotus timewalk set of legends etc.. i sold them all for a few thousand and none of this overpriced thousands of dollars stuff impresses me lol. Its just cardboad and in my opinion everyone paying crazy prices for this stuff nowadays is idiotic.
Epic find! All cards from my prime time 1996-1998, even some beyond. But stoppped before Urza block just as i had. Do you dare to share how much you paid for it? I reckon probably not more than $50 the way you describe it. Definitely up to $1500 worth of cards in that binder. Congratulations 🙂
80% skeptic here, u only recorded the binder reveal not the actual for example "BARN FIND!", Those 9 pockets plastic card holder looks very new to me😂😂, Anyweiz somewhat I have a 20% chance of believing you if you just recorded the actual finding of that said binder sir😅😅😅
you REEEEEEALLY gonna have to do something about the video, I'm seasick. Put your camera further away where you can get a nice clear image of both pages and please don't move it!
