Found motorcycle Jawa 250 Perak 1947 2 stroke. Very abandoned dirty motorcycle. Detailing and polishing body parts. Restoration Abandoned 75 years old motorcycle Jawa
Why would you take the time to watch and then criticize? He did more than a wash job. Moreover, why would he restore if the paint was in perfect condition?
At age 73 in the Northeast USA, that is the first time I've seen a grab handle for the passenger on a mortorcycle. Learn something new everyday. Thanks. Narragansett Bay
I used to have a Jawa way back in the 70 s. There were a few of these old 1947 model bikes still puttering around in Chennai. They used to come to the same mechanic who took care of my Jawa 250.
The sound is too good shows perfect tuning of bike ...I had one jawa 250cc and two yezdi bikes which was later available after jawa stopped selling in India..one was classic 250 cc and another 350cc twin. The best thing about 250cc jawa or yezdi bikes...is kick, gear and clutch was incorporated in one kick lever. Even if clutch wire broke one can still drive change gears using clutch mechanism operated using kick lever...and front wheel can be interchanged with rear wheel ..Best firing sound ever.
Lots of the paint looked in good condition but obscured with lots of oil sprinkled with saw dust, there is also shiny bits of chrome like the seat springs my guess is this was still in use the week before this video.
A jiné znaky tomu i taky odpovídají. Rok 47 to určitě není.. Jinak pěkné video..
I used to tear down and rebuild Yamaha and Kawasaki bikes , from rd 200 to rd 350 and dt 175 to dt 250 , my favorite was Kawasaki 750 triple , it ran 150 mph , miss it .
I found an abandoned 650 AJS dumped in a woodland. I took it home and spent weeks restoring it. The person who threw it away found out and came to my home and claimed the motorcycle back. I went to the police but they wouldn't help me as he still owned the motorcycle and had the registration document.
Had to watch this one a 2nd time.. from the I got it from a garage (nice touch) to the tear it down to clean polish and maintainence. I wish I could find a 47 anything like that. It was a pleasure to watch the transformation from storage to on road.. thank you, well done, cudos.. Mac
I have owned Jawa 350/360, Jawa 250/354-04. I had a Pannonia T-5, IZ-49, but I always wanted Jawa Perak and was close to it, but Russia attacked, there is a war in Ukraine and apparently the dream will remain a dream.
If only Japanese & Italian motorcycle manufacturer made their bikes using the very best quality materials and to higher standards, like Jawa, then the vast majority of them wouldn't have rotted away so quickly.
I don't know what you were aiming for, but this looked pretty half-assed to me. You didn't even touch the engine...still had a lot of grime on it, and other spots too.
I'm sorry, but: washing - yes; polishing - yes. But it is not restoration! The bike was initially in good storage conditions. But I definitely share with you the passion to the classic style of the last century devices! In my childhood all people who had money in pocket wanted to have Java, but it was huge deficite in all former USSR Republics. Czech industry even that times was on top level: Skoda, Java, Ceska Zbrojovka...
