Old Pole-Mounted traffic lights in Franklin, NJ 

Idk what the orignal heads where, i don't actually live here, i was here for a train, and wanted to get these

@@FreedomtowerStudios yeah I doubt we'll ever find a photo of them from way back. But even with the newer lights, it's an amazing vintage set up. I sold correct my comment... The type R signals were made from the '60s into the 80s.

Here is what happened with many intersections over the years:these signals were probably working into the late 1980’s and had a LFE/Electromatic controller with pressure plates on the side street which were removed in the late 1980’s because traffic patterns changed as more interstates and bypass highways were built.These signals were saved from the scrap pile,and a flasher cabinet was installed and the pressure plates were removed.LFE/Electromatic controllers had their issues,but were extremely common because the signals only had to change when cars were on the side street. UPDATE!!! What I mentioned is true!! I have relatives from the next city over,and my explanation is what actually happened!!!

Yes they were, and im sure years ago they did normal RYG, but sadly not anymore

I remember when I was 3-4 the signals never flashed. It was after we had a very big rain storm these signals have flashed ever since even to this day.

Either Broken or just not enough traffic to warrent them to be in R/Y/G mode so they were put in flash mode.

yeah, they are functioning as 4 way beacons according to the City of Franklin. the bulbs are incandescent and the signals have beaded lenses which are no longer used. The Main Street signals flash yellow and the cross street flashes red as well as being guarded by stop signs.

I know right, i've never seen just pole mounted signals like this before, and i don't know how long these signals will be around, so i had to get videos of it.
