My reaction to Jinjer's live performance of "Who Is Gonna Be The One" Official Video • JINJER - Who Is Gonna ... Shoutout to my first EVER Patron, Erika! Follow me on Twitch / daztrash245 Patreon / daztrash
Tatiana's a huge No Doubt fan, as well as Amy Winehouse, and you can hear it in her voice a lot. Judgement and Punishment goes even more into Reggae territory - there's a one take vocal performance by Tati where it's just her, a mic, and awesomeness.
Teacher Teacher. shows of the bands versatility awesomely imo, excellent contrast and harmony throughout that song and the video shows off their personality through various live performances.
No Doubt you have to do both of those. Teacher Teacher is so unique. New territory. Judgement and Punishment is a bit awkward IMO, but her vocal performance.. Holy shit. Try and oldie - cloud factory (live). She is hotter than hell in that one.
Vlad on drums, Roman on guitar, and Eugene on bass. There you have been introduced to the other members of Jinjer, all of whom are masters of their crafts...
and that's the reason you saw 4 world class musicians! this band is one of a kind, and I saw this song live last week in an open air social distancing concert in germany with jinjer. I've also been a musician for a very long time and what can I say > that's an absolutely great band! many thanx for your reaction and stay safe > and greetings from germany Tatiana Shmaylyuk Roman Ibramkhalilov guitar Eugene Kostyuk bass Vladislav Ulasevish drums
@@Evilatem glad you mentioned Guano Apes, Tati seems to mention Sandra Nasic more than Amy in interviews. Not that it's a competition lol, lets just put all 3 on equal level of fandom. (Oh, and I am a huge GA fan so... there's that. Kinda biased.)
If you want to watch Eugene playing the whole song up-close and see, rather than only hear, the amazing work he does, go to Jinjer's YT channel. They have a playthrough video of this song (and of other songs and other instruments too).
If you have not already then you really have to watch this playthrough. Here is the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2Dx3J29OuaM.html Let me know what you think. Greetings from South Africa. P.S. I saw Jinjer live here last year. Spectacular. If you get the chance just go.
That one is definitely coming this week. I think I have Sit Stay Roll Over next and, then, Teacher Teacher. I'll be filming both today before my stream, so stay tuned! Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
Yes, Outlander. An earlier song of their Cloud Factory album and one of their, possibly even their best. Outlander (failure .color) m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XtOYjCkHJak.html
Vladislav Ulasevich He was a concert pianist before this and he and Eugene Abdukhanov are the musical geniuses who come up with the sounds. Tatiana Shmailyuk writes the lyrics. Roman Ibramkhalilov is just an amazing guitarist.
@Bloviator Magnus what a tiny reference🙄, are you talking waters? @Madhatter Eugene cannot show similar classical musical education as Vlad, though this doesn't make him less awesome
Vlad's the drummer. They picked him up shortly after the album "King of Everything," and they re-recorded Pisces in what became the ubiquitous "live session" video on RU-vid reactions! Vlad rules. Also: Singer: Tatiana Guitarist: Roman Bassist: Eugene Drummer: Vlad Fun reaction! Love the analysis, subbing for future.
Thank you for the great reaction. Love the commentary. I have seen many reactions to this song and I appreciate things you pointed out that I didn’t know or had noticed.
Thanks for the sub!! Yeah, I've gotten into other people's Jinjer reactions since I started doing them too. Haha. Haven't watched any I haven't done yet, though. Don't wanna ruin the surprise for myself!
I'm here for the Jinjer reactions! New subscriber too. I'm also old-school punk so I'm surprised that I haven't seen your channel before now but Hey, It's fuckin cool that I found it now! Keep the Jinjer reactions comin!
Got a couple more Jinjer reactions still to come! Dunno when. Soon. Lol. Thanks for watching and subscribing! Got tons of underground punk reactions on my channel as well! Feel free to spool through!
...what about those sick 666 socks.....shes a huge gwen fan...you can hear it in all their songs...hey man great react and comments...ive been a bass player since 15...62 now and these guys are my favorite band of all time...its crazy......."words of wisdom" live is from this same concert...it will get you real close to puttin that patch on the vest...thanks...peace....
Just watched the official video for Words of Wisdom after commenting and since you already know they play tight live, I would say the studio version has brighter guitar tones and a little harmony on the vocals that make a big difference. You can't go wrong either way.
I was thinking judgment and Punishment one take performance the instant you said you said Gwen Stefani. Also though, if you would like to catch a Pantera/Lamb of God vibe, check out Cloud Factory live. When you check Cloud Factory out, take special note of what you see happen at the 17 second mark.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that Tati is self-taught. She blows my mind. And I'm a middle aged, straight white woman, and I have a crush on her... she's phenomenal. :D
Wow! You hit it on the head with that metal core clean vocal statement. I’m an old school metal head. Grew up on slayer and the thrash crossover scene bit when metal core came around it just didn’t hit with me! I liked a lot of the screams but when they went clean it just didn’t fit or it changed the heaviness of the song. But with Jinjer she just gets it right imo. Or maybe because she’s female the cleans sound more natural. I’m not sure what it is but it just sounds better to me! She seems to know where to place the screams and the cleans and also as you’ll discover with this band they are very experimental in regards to mixing in other genres that can go very wrong if you’re not great song writers and musicians. Again when Jinjer does this it fits so well combine that with the fact they’re very progressive and heavy in nature and they have almost single handedly revived heavy music for me. Just saying. Loving your reactions man. Maybe some earlier heavy stuff would be fun for you so maybe “sit stay and roll over”? One more thing your reaction and breakdown is so astute fantastic!!!
I think you'd probably really enjoy Ape and Judgement and Punishment. Every song I hear from them amazes me in one way or another. Hope you enjoy hearing more from them.
Great reaction. Thinking 'No Hoard of Value' will be in your wheelhouse. No official or live video, but the lyric video is definitely worth checking out
Great reaction good insight and that you brought is a life time pass you can ride the ride as much as you want REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR ARMS INSIDE THE VEHICAL AT ALL TIMES AND DON'T STAND -UP OR TRY TO EXIT THE RIDE UNTIL IT COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET OFF THE MOHER F%$#@* FOR 21/2 YEARS THANK YOU METAL GODS!!!
Give Gojira a spin. L'Enfant Sauvage is a good first song, IMO. Flying Whales or Heaviest Matter of the Universe are also great picks. They've gotten pretty successful by now, but I'd say that's well deserved, just as it is with Jinjer.
I agree. I actually have a quite long story with Gojira, back when they were a relatively unknown French band, like 18 years ago, they evolved quite a bit, but that's genuine, you know, not trying to "sell" more. And they're adorable as persons, honestly.
I'm in bro, Glad I found a reactor with my tastes and from my era. You got me hooked with Pisces. 👍 Oh yeah, if you haven't heard it already, check out "Demolisher" by Slaughter to Prevail.
Two of Tati's biggest influences are Gwen Stefani and Bob Marley. If you dug the end of this song, another one with great reggae sections is Judgement and Punishment (lots of great versions of it out from the OMV to an awesome one-take performance). I recommended "Home Back" in the Pisces video, that has a fantastic jazz section mixed in to the brutality. I have been a metal/punk fan since the mid 70's and these guys have impressed me to no end. Any song you check out you will find something positive about it, and I'm going to have fun watching you become a fan! I won't attempt to spell their last names since it's all Ukrainian spellings, but their English first name versions are - Tatiana (of course), Roman on guitar, Vladislav on drums and last but NOT least, Eugene on bass.
@@StickDastardly Jinjer recently (yes, RECENTLY) did a small tour of Germany and Switzerland. They did an awesome interview about it. Gives you a great insight in to Eugene and Tati as people. Not a reaction subject, but if you get curious and have some time to kill maybe see who they are just talkin' ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nnxsuP4Vm1o.html
Subbed after these 3 Jinjer reactions :) One of my favourite songs, Outlander by Jinjer is somehow not reacted to that often. Cant by the life of me understand why cause its just as awesome as most of their songs. Yeah i know. Jinjer does not have any bad songs. They are all awesome :D But that is my request for you. And one more from the latest album, Retrospection. Absolutely love it. So there is 2 more for your list ;) Great reactions :) But you should definately try to improve on the camera quality. You look as if you are recording from a Commodore 64 lmao :D No hate, just a tip :)
It's all I can afford for now. Lol. I've tweaked a bit with software but, unfortunately, still not up to my own personal standard. Thanks for the suggestions!
This song makes me sweat just listening to it. It is a full-on protest song. In first aid training they always say that in a crisis most people wait for someone else to step up and be the one to deal with it, so this song calling for all of us to stand up and be "the one" that fights for change. I love the dueling guitar and bass in the beginning. This song was originally composed for two guitars but their rhythm guitarist left and they didn't replace him. Most of the songs from that era they played using backing tracks, but this one they re-composed to work with just Roman on guitar and Eugene's 5-string bass helping to fill in a bit more midrange sound. Vlad connected with Jinjer when they had a temporary drummer after the former drummer was severely injured in a fall by doing a drum cover of this song. Vlad is the only one who is classically trained in music, as a pianist. He also plays guitar well enough to do Gojira covers as well as being a phenomenal drummer with the perfect range of skills for this band. Their other song with reggae is Judgement & Punishment, and I'd recommend either the one-take vocal performance video from a month ago, or the live in Melbourne video from this summer - both are phenomenal in totally different ways, since J&P has some of their best instrumental composition, IMO. Their early stuff was more metalcore, for example the live video of Scissors, or either official or live of Exposed As A Liar with the live version being being the "Crowd Factory" DVD trailer. Cheers!
@@StickDastardly - Another "fun fact": the guitar Roman is playing here belonged to the other guitarist (and founding member) who left the band. His name is Dmitry Oksen. Remember this name for when you react to the video(s) where he appears. : )
@@StickDastardly for that Bungle reference alone you deserve a sub. Not that common that people mention it. A lot of groups do mix different stuff and it doesn't always sound... hm, "organic", rather "patchworky" if that makes sense, but if you like Mr. Bungle (especially early ones) then check out Twelve Foot Ninja ("Coming for You"). I get the same harmonic feeling with TFN as I get with Bungle (also Jinjer says that Twelve Foot Ninja was one of the influences on them with the bunch of others). Cheers!
Just subbed so I guess I'm part of the F@*&ers now, cool. You may not have many request for this one, Bad Water, official live video napalm records. No growls. Nice changes from a short slow start to nice power musicianship. Nice heavy sound but not over done. The bass player ends the song on stage alone for a brief moment. Thumb moving down other fingers moving up making a very nice ending. Curious with you being a bassist how that hits you. Other greats, judgement & punishment ( one take vocals ) , Captain clock ( resurrection fest 2018 ) Thanks Daz.
I cannot reccomend OUTLANDER high enough. As much as I personally love almost all of Jinjers songs it is Outlander that made me a fan. It is an older song from the Best Ukrainian Metal Act 2014 show and they have a little different band line up but I promise you that it will become one of your favorites. Stay Metal \m/ Oh and with Jinjer most feel it is ok to have the lyrics pulled up along side of the video.
@@StickDastardly Nah but i will. Looking forward to see what sort of stuff you be reacting too. Hopefully something unique, compared to the same old trash the normal reacters do.
@@mrdead4793 Most of my reactions are underground bands, so should be what you're looking for! Check out some of my older reactions and keep an eye outnfor what I've got coming up!
Hi from the uk 🇬🇧 something you might like to check out as you like the it heavy on the bass guitar 🎸 It's an all girl Japanese band and these girls can rock 🎸 Band maid play live world domination tour 2020 Also check out the band called Epica it's a symphonic metal band Epica consign to oblivion live at the zenith Paris And nightwish yours is an empty hope live Wembley arena 2015 And prepare for the band maid, Epica, nightwish ,army's to arrive at the door lol
Sit stay and roll over has their old drummer. Their older stuff they had two guitarst as well. It’s pretty cool. I think once they got their new drummer. Their style changed a bit but love the Complex time signatures and tempos. Fusion-ish Metal.
Hell yeah I always said Gwen influence and yeah Bungle self titled was insane! There were very few who actually reacted to that and it went somewhat sour. Mike Patton was a lyrical and vocalist god IMO.
I've seen a few of the Bungle reactions. Lost In Vegas did one and didn't get it at all and those dudes are super open. I guess we're a special breed 😅
Nirvana "Territorial Pissing's" cover is a tasty treat too....!! More of that old school vibe.... Only half the band in that though but it is an awesome cover...
As a bass player, will really appreciate Jinjer’s Bad Water (Official live) m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uyByj5F9ZjQ.html No growls, all clean vocals but a very dark vibe. The bass is awesome in this, particularly the bass outdo.
Favorite version of my favorite Jinjer song. Check out Eugene's bass play through for this song ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2Dx3J29OuaM.html. Since you're a bassist, you'll dig it! Cheers.
This is a bit late, but don't worry about pausing! I love hearing opinions on the song and I appreciate you not wanting to talk over it as well. Anyone that doesn't want the pause insight can just scrub through the video!
New subscriber just saw react to pisces and ill admit sucker for jinjer so fucking hott. Figured check out this one too and yeah thats what won my sub to your channel lookin forward to more 🤘🤘
And if you want a raegae metal vibe you can't go wrong with judgement and punishment Tatiana one take vocal recording. It was recorded as a 1 year anniversary of the release of the single
