Went through Air Force BMT in "83" Being the chow runner was the worst job one could have. In my flight the chow runner was a really short dude with size 9 feet and size 12 boots (reminded me of Snuffy Smith). When the TI called "chow runner go!" All we heard was "flopp flopp flopp" as he marched to the door. Nobody could hold back the laughter even the TI's. This is permanently ingrained in my mind even to this day. If I feel that I need a little chuckle all I do is think "chow runner go".
Hey, USAF Vet here too! Went through BMT in 2006. Chow Runner was definitely the worst job in Basic. I was INSANELY thankful I didn't have to be it. I was 'Hallway Crew Chief'. As far as the 'Detail' assignments go, that one was a cake!
We had an awesome chow runner. Legs like a giraffe, and he never missed a note of Reveille. We were never later than second flight reporting to chow hall for breakfast...usually first.
331st Death Row March - April 1998 wa untouchable. Ssgt Tijerina, Ssgt Greene, Ssgt Jenkins were beasts. Our flight won honor flight and smokes the comp from other squads while coming home with all the comp streamers on our staff. Ssgt Greene actually teared up on the last day cuz we were so damn sharp. Anyone else a part of this squad at the time?
No but 324th won everything in 07 and my flight killed. Average mile time was sub 9 minutes and only 2 people missed marksman. My squad smokes yours any day and twice on Sunday. Get good kid
Just graduated from 331st a week ago, still untouchable. Wolf Pack has always been the squadron to beat from what I've heard (even from other squadrons mti). We have the GOAT of instructors right now too. She even has a plaque in the other squadrons defacts. Tsgt Williams.
@@bradearthman8332 lol that's nothing to brag about. It sounds like you just got lucky and was put up against a weak group. Sub 9 minutes isn't all that hard to achieve. Marksman is pretty much a participation ribbon. The 331st being on top is just kinda how BMT works at this point. We're always the squadron. Just keep practicing, we all start somewhere lol.
Not sure, but I 321st (seems like these MTIs are from 321TRS from the comments) have been in the new buildings(not the one in the video) for a while at Lackland and they're called instructor supervisors instead of section supervisors. So idk, a year, 2 years? BMT makes some kind of big change every FY.
That is none other than, at the time, MSgt Ceracano (sara-saun-o). He was my Section Supervisor when I went through in 2010. This was conducted at the 321st, the PREDATORS! I saw a glimpse MSgt Manuel, my MTI, in there as well. I remember TSgt Linder (the “trainee”) challenging everyone to push-ups. The only time I’ve ever seen 100 perfect push-ups pumped out in under a minute. Impressive stuff!! I’m actually back at BMT now to push some flights myself. Sgt Linder, thanks for the memories!
As someone who went through and graduated BMT in 2017, I can promise you that USAF MTIs can and will fucking destroy you if given the opportunity. God help you if you do something like failing to bring black socks the day you and your flight get fitted for dress blues or losing your canteen cap during BEAST week. Just because it's not USMC or Army basic doesn't mean that these dudes won't make your life a living hell if you fuck up badly enough.
Holy fuckin shit! The Section Supervisor was my TI in 2003 and BMT (320 TRS FLT 601)was absolutely like this. If this is a skit, it's accurate. Reminds me of a few dirtbags back the. Making me nostalgic.
+50629 I went through 3 years ago and one of the instructors had a line for MSgt, unless he reallllllly fucked up I highly doubt this was only a year ago.
This is not "Old School" one bit. I went through Basic Training almost 30 years ago. And I don't even call my self "Old School" Our MTI's smoked us and rode us all day, but it wasn't as rough as the crews before us.
The end of the video is what I'm talking about thoughThe trainee in the majority of the video probably really acts like that. There are some weird people that come through!
It's BMT not a playground! Holy bat crap, much worse in the 80's! It's still a pansy party! Go through one of the SOF training programs and then you can talk about your little adventure!
It's would be hard to take any of these TI's serious, after have gone through old school basic training in the Army in. Unless some guy is intentionally screwing up. You don't single him and berate him just to get your kicks. These TI's are a bunch of clowns.
The Marines do this to their recruits on a daily basis! Having gone through recruit training ten years ago its hard to look at any other branch's basic
Old school BMT? Lol dude's wearing ABUs and this video was posted in 2015 less than 2 years ago.......I don't know what's old school about this. I wouldn't even consider my experience as old school and that was 10 years ago...
