Nice video! I sold my Sunnen seat and guide machine years ago but still have the tooling like you used . I think I can do the job in my Bridgeport, cool !
Good video👍 I have worked in two automotive machine shops now. A little over ten years between the two. They both had one of these tucked away in a dark corner and we never used them. So this was interesting to watch.
Very cool, glad you liked the video and got to see somewhat how it works, I think that you would really like using the IDL if they ever plug it in. Thanks! Billy Ray.
Sweet, yes you'll like the machine, may have to search a bit to find stands, but I'm thinking you could probably have some made, there's a lot of good fabrication people out there. Thanks! Billy Ray
Hello, I just picked one of these up and a lot of oil leaked out in transport so I need to refill it. What oil are you using in it and how much? How do I drain it? Been waiting a week for a manual.
Robert, yes it would be a great machine to do the work on, only thing would be some tractor cylinder heads may be to wide, but if not, you'll be good to go. Thanks! Billy Ray.
Will this machine cut a concentric seat and leave a nice surface finish or does it need to be “bumped” with a stone after cutting the seat to get a good vac test and concentricity?
If you configure your tooling properly you could use either a 3D cut Newen or Neway type setup . That’s where Neway got their idea for their drive system .
Charles, sorry I missed your post, and it's probably to late now to do you're 385 series cylinder heads, but yes I can do the valve guides for you if you still need them done, Thanks. Billy Ray.
