Oh I cried with envy on this episode!!! It is impossible to find good OG mochi n mangyu as fresh as that here!!! Oh i put this on my list of must try that i have started, thanks to you!!! I love kuri manju and any new mochi or manju. I live pumpkin, lychee, yuzu and haupia!!! You had me howling with envy!! Thank you for sharing these gems! I will try for sure!! We visited Fujiya last week based on your reco and it did not disappoint at all…I am still dreaming about it now that our vacay is over. And wishing I ate more…sooooo good! We were chatting with the person there and she asked how we heard about them, and after mentioning your channel, she was like , oh yeah, Amanda and Felix!

Use to go there from the later 80s, granted different owners, loved the previous owners...The old school chow fun, tempura mochi, okara the way I like it, old school musubi, man so much...New owners, different but still pretty good. I really like the Sweet sour spareribs (he only makes it sometimes) chicken katsu, etc...Okazu ya old school, love it!!! Keep uo the good work

Love that place. They're always so nice and friendly. A few doors down, we stumbled upon Omega Mandoo House. I got half a bag and made soup. It was good!

Fujiya used to be located in Kalihi on Waiakamilo Rd makai of Dillingham Blvd for decades but moved to moiiliili maybe two years ago.

I want to try these places! I love okazuya…the field trip lunch! Cone sushi AND musubi, pork hash, egg roll, fried chix, chow funn, veg tempura (allergic to shrimp)-carb delight! Lol! favorite mochi flavor? Peanut butter from Nishodo but I will try Fujiya some day!

The Japanese restaurant next to fujiya is pretty good too! I think the name of the restaurant is called Minato.

Love your videos, but one suggestion would be to show more of the menu or item one can choose from. You usually only show what you get and viewers don’t get a good idea of what else can be found there. Just some food for thought…lol. Keep posting you guys are AWESOME!!!

Hawaii’s okazuya places are the best! Not sure why we don’t have them here in So Cal….maybe too much work? I wish someone from Hawaii would open up an old school okazuya here. Have you guys already done your top 3 okazuya places? If not, please do one! Even if you have done one in the past, I’m sure you top three might’ve changed. Fujiya looks bomb! I always go to Nisshodo…next time I’ll have to go to Fujiya! Good job on the video!👍🏻

Naka's Okazuya was the go to place for me growing up and working in Kalihi but they've closed down a long time ago. I find it interesting that when I was growing up the emphasis was in oKAzuya but now it sounds like it is okaZUya

I use maybelline super stay matte ink in seductress! It’s close to my natural lip color so even if a little comes off you can’t really tell🤗

I love Okazuyas, too bad ther aren't too many around. On Maui, close to where I live, in Wailuku is Ichiban Okazuya. Love their food. I liked all of your Okazu choices. I enjoy Chichi Dango but have no idea how it's made. Mahalo and Aloha.

Yes Chi-Chi Dango is made with rice flower/mochiko flour. My wife makes it because it's easier than making mochi which requires you to pound rice.

Fujiya is good but I prefer Nisshodo. The reason the Fujiya mochi is so soft is because it needs to be refrigerated. It makes it kind of hard to eat especially the chichi dango. One recommendation is the restaurant next door to Fujiya. Ittcalled Minato and the food is good and very reasonable.
