i LOVE videos like this. I feel like makeup moves so fast now, that a lot of "hidden gems" are actually just products that came out a few years ago and we've forgotten about. Trends recycle though so they're always worth searching for!
I’m still obsessed with Buxum lip gloss. I have some big favorites the creams are my jam. Hot Toddy, Mudslide. This summer I found the Clear pinkish color Mia Marshmallow. It was limited and I’m sad I bought extra but I’m Down to 1 and 1/4 tube left. 😢 Old school still use Nars radiant creamy concealer, Clinique Black honey( I’m 56and believe I have worn it since I was 13 when my mom took me the counter to get my skin analyzed for Clinique skin care😊. It was a free gift with Purchase and my mom let me wear it! , I have been wearing Revlon lipstick forever… some of my favorites pink in the afternoon, rum raisin, love is on and Revlon red. I recently discovered the Shine lipstick line so pretty! You got me hooked on Laura Mercier caviar sticks. I where stone several times a week and am on my 3 tube! Also cream blush in general… changed my life! 😅
I completely agree about some eyeshadow being way too pigmented. As someone who is extremely fair, I find a lot of palettes can get too dark on me with just one dip in. I definitely prefer buildable products.
This video is bringing me back to the days of Mall Makeup! I worked for Clinique (Estee Lauder) for events and different malls for about 4 to 5 hour shifts. The Chubby Sticks are so good. I still have the first Mac 9 pan I bought in 2000. I don’t use it but, the pan is so satisfying that I can’t get rid of it.
I totally agree with you on Bare Minerals. I have used them for at least 20 years and they began to fall down once Leslie sold it. She stayed with the loose product and every other brand tried to imitate her. Once sold, they began to go back to pressed products and fazed out their shadows and blushes and went to pallets, etc. they lost their uniqueness and degraded the product. I have tried many others but haven’t found a replacement that I love like I did their stuff. 😢
I found you from Emily Noel when she was talking about Bareminerals and how you were the best place to go for how to use their products. And the product I still use that you recommended is the Neutrogena hydro boost skin tint.
I met Mel when she became a stylist in the cosmetics department at Nordstrom. She came from MAC. I can also attest to the fact that she was the most beautiful person…inside and out. So very sincere…helpful…most infectious laugh! Always in a hurry despite her ongoing knee issues. I was blessed to shop with her on her last day at Nordstorm as transitioned to a full time influencer. We all miss her so much ❤️

This took me back. I still use the bareminerals mineral veil and foundation, 2 of my holy grails. Those chubby sticks are still amazing I don’t care what GenZ says 😂
Yes girl yes! on the bareMinerals portion. I was a bM girl for so many years. I’m talking all the way back to when you could only buy it on QVC or specialty stores. (Ours was a hospital gift shop lol) I miss the way it used to be so much. The brushes were phenomenal (looking at you long handle kabuki brush) and held up so well. I have some blushes and foundation from the old formula that I’m hoarding onto for dear life. I ran out of my favorite blush, Fruit Cocktail, years back and I miss it every dang day. Lol

My favorite old school highlight is Laura Geller french vanilla. Which is a lot like the Laura mercier. And of course the Laura Geller baked foundation is an oldie but goodie.

Bare minerals does still sell well rested & now after watching this video, I definitely want to give it a go! Their original loose mineral foundation is still a favorite of mine. Still nothing else like it in the market.
Shelbey, I have a pressed brow powder from Clinique in the slide-able silver mirror packaging that is, I kid you not, actually older than you are. Clinique was the only brand (that was not drug store) available to me in my small midwestern town at the nearest mall and, when I bought my first full face of an actual classy brand in college, it made me feel so grown up that I have always kept it in my stash for nostalgia. I don’t use it anymore (flat matte powder) but it is actually panned and I did use it for at least 2 decades before retiring it. I think the rest of the make up was a gift set in a box. I am pretty sure that the shadows I bought eventually panned and shattered but I remember that the lipstick had this sort of weird tart grape-like type scent that I thought was so elegant. LOVE the classics. I still have a big squeeze bottle of MAC Face and Body and think it is fantastic. The MAC finishing powder will never not be in my horde. Very fun video! I have a Clinique little “travel palette” from like the late 80’s that has a grey and white shadow, a blush, and tiny tiny lipstick, that a family member gave me for christmas (she would make little gift bags out of all of her gift-with-purchase items she didnt use). I didnt even use makeup yet and i thought i was like high society having that thing- besides its so cute! I still have it in my travel bag just to look at it when i do travel. So nostalgic and i will never get rid of it, but never use it. 😄 🧡👍🧡👍
First of all, I'm going to be picking up that lip combo!! But my product is the MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork, the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, and Tarte Shape Tape. I still use and love all three to this day. They are my ride or die products!
When someone who tries a ton of makeup stands by certain recommendations, not just over several videos, but over several years- it says something. While you prefer glowy dewy products and often have dry skin, as an oily combo skin gal- somehow your foundation recommendations are on point for me. In particular, I've purchased Armani Luminous Silk based on multiple mentions from you and the Lisa Eldridge's foundation based of that one video you did about "most versatile foundations"
I'm a Bare Minerals girl for the past 30 years. Still use it regularly! You turned me on to David Sandler and I love them! I also have alot of the Mac 9 pan eyeshadows and Mac foundation. Love them! Thank you for all you do, I love your videos so much!
I totally agree with you re: BM. After Leslie sold it to Shiseido, they worked hard at disassembling the uniqueness of BM to become ordinary among so many other brands. Leslie sold Buxom to Sephora. Dolly is my favorite.
I’m late to this party but a face and body stan. I also asked MAC and they said it’s the same formula too. I didn’t notice a difference AT all even with a different shade. Still my all time fave
Been using MAC since 2011 and it’s still like 90% of my makeup till this day! Foundation, powders, lip products etc… MAC will always be my first love💗💗💗
Oh my gosh you are the only one who talks about that CT Unisex Healthy Glow ☺️. I’ve been loving it for YEARS! I mix it with the CT Wonder Glow and I get compliments on my skin every single time I use it. In summer I just use that combo and a bit of concealer and bam! That’s my base. Yesss girl I loved F&B. I'm one who swears the new formula is different though. If they wanted to add shades why not just add them? It was such a holy grail best seller for at least 25 years and I've worn the OG and the new one side by side but the new one has a... shimmer? Not glitter but a sheen of some sort. It's not just a glow (it was already glowy) but it looks almost metallic and not as natural. I used to get compliments on my skin (not my makeup) every time I wore it. Now it looks like it has highlighter mixed into it? It doesn't do me any favors but younger people may like it better. I still wear it occasionally but I've been on the hunt for something similar to the old formula. You Ironically it's been CT Light Wonder so far and I’ve tried a ton. Those x9 palettes go on sale often and I stocked up even though I have all the singles. They're great for travel! Such a sweet story about Mel 🕊She had such great insights on MAC products. Ma’am, I totally hear you and I understand that you believe the formula changed, but it hasn’t. There is absolutely no shimmer what so ever in the new face and body. It is not metallic in the slightest. When the brand itself releases, a statement saying that all they did was change the packaging and add new shades, then I hate to tell you, but that’s all they did. Please refer to the ingredient list and see that they are identical. Perhaps as you’ve gotten old, it just doesn’t look the same on you anymore but for someone that claims it has shimmer and looks somewhat metallic. You sure chose a product to replace it. That is shimmery. While I agree, they are similar light wonder. Actually does have pearl pigment in it that makes it look shimmery. I too have both and there is no difference and I don’t mean there is no discernible difference. I mean there is no difference. And for anyone that reads your comment. I hope they read mine as well because Mac face and body is beautiful on mature skin and it has no shimmer and it doesn’t look metallic, so I’m not sure what this person is referring to. Perhaps they used a different Mac product thinking it was face and body.
@@Nick-ei8lt Sir, I have been using F&B since the early 90s - probably longer than you have been alive and given that I am “old” and wise, I am not gullible enough to believe every statement companies make that are in their own best interest. If true: Why did they repackage using the same exact bottle in the same exact formula with the same exact ingredients in the same exact order? There is now “radiance” in the name which means yes… wait for it… more radiant. I don’t know who you are that makes you (“this person”) the expert on all things MAC but clearly I am not the only user who experienced a difference. I never said it wasn’t beautiful, I still love MAC products and always will. I have not told anyone not to purchase, it’s just my old ass experience that there is a sheen on the new side vs the original side but I’m sure it looks lovely on flawless baby skin. And no, CT light wonder is not shimmery. You must be thinking of another CT product. But the new F&B formula is definitely different in my old ass opinion and I will take that to my grave which is apparently waiting for me as we speak. Lighten up my friend. Oh my! So many wonderful products. I tried the Daniel Sandler Cheek Colour’s after your recommendation. I love Golden Glow and Rose Glow. They are so easy to blend and look beautiful every time I use them.
Beautiful look! I love your makeup videos. bareMinerals got bought again about a year ago. I was working at the boutique when the transition was completed last month. All the boutiques were closed :( Their products are still in Ulta, etc. I'm hoping that the new owners take it back to what they are known for and expert at, meaning the loose powders. Fingers crossed :)
The CT Unisex glow is my holy grail foundation! I'm more of a medium and sometimes it's a little light on me during summer but I still love it. Stays on all day even when I'm sweating and so easy to apply.

Naked Lunch is the only powder shadow I own right now, that topped over my everyday Groundwork is all I need! This was a great video, as someone with a minimal collection I love seeing old favorites brought back out. My oldest product was sadly discontinued this past year, Clinique Naturally Glossy mascara, I have 2 left in my stash. I've been using that mascara since 1989. Why Clinique, WHY?! Also MAC discontinued a mascara last year which is the one I would buy if for some reason the brown Naturally Glossy was out of stock, Haute and Naughty also in brown. Finding mascara in brown that gives natural looking "my lashes but better" is becoming harder and harder to find. I discovered so many products from your channel, DS blushes, LM caviar sticks, Future Dew, CT eyes to mesmerize. There's more I'm forgetting!
Nars liquid blush similar to Daniel Sandler. I love them both because they have different colors. The problem is it just keeps lifting off my foundation. Any tips?
I love face and body , the new formula doesn’t pull as much as the old one. When your getting that tacky extra coverage. But it’s still beautiful it only down side is it only last 5-6hrs max! If you don’t sweat and it’s dry out.
I bought Mac face and body this year for the first time and I 👏 LOVE 👏 IT 👏 I can’t believe anyone is trying other skin tints when this one is over here like “hi! I’m here! I last all day! And look perfect!” From your videos, I grabbed warmth from bare minerals and love it during the summer. It’s one of those “sunburn” bronzers for me. I’ve got a few nyx lipliners to burn through, but I think next to try are the artist pencils
Great video! I use the Iconic London primer underneath my MAC studio radiance foundation and it gives me a youthful glow without trying to look like a 20 year old. (I am nearly 50....I said nearly 🤣🤣)
❤seeing you use older products 😊 I can’t distinguish between the new & Face & Body, granted I also stuck with my usual shades C1 & N1….it’s still my Old faithful-Holy Grail foundation, if I want more coverage I just adjust with concealer or a powder with coverage. I’ve tried practically everything yet still come back to F&B, the formula is just perfection.
Yes, there is no difference between the old formula and the new. It isn’t a new formula it’s just new, packaging, and new shades. I swear some of these people really go hard trying to tell the brand that it isn’t the same and they changed it even when they say that they haven’t it’s hilarious.
Some foundations I think are better applied with hands . Question: I don’t have any dark circles so I usually bring my foundation up but would like something to brighten. I swear bare mineral changed I used to love going to their stores . Maybe I should try their concealer again .
Bare Minerals changed as soon as Leslie sold it! I’m brown skinned and was using Golden Dark since 2002, used to go the Bare Minerals Boutique and grab a couple a few times a year even though I still had unopened ones at home. It literally took less than 5 minutes for powder, blush and Warmth. Now, I can’t get a color match or undertone to save my life, and the texture is weird as well.
I am one of the people you turned on to Daniel Sandler and his blushes four years ago. I feel that they were so ahead of their time, and they are still too undiscovered.
