When I was young funny cars looked like this. There was Tommy, Gene, Don, Tom, The Shoe, Roland, Coil, John, Mickey, Jungle I thought I was in heaven........
I wish everybody could have experienced what it was like in the 70s we had Jungle Jim and Pam the Blue Max Gene snow ramchargers Brutus Ed McCullough Don Prudhomme the snake Tom McEwen the mongoose too many to list. It was especially at night when they would run 100% Nitro and the Flames would go over the roof of the car. of course I'm speaking of Detroit Dragway I don't know how many other dragway's got away with 100% Nitro. 😄
I can’t get over how crystal clear your video is. I don’t know what the difference is between yours and others videos, but yours are like I am actually there!
This is incredible video quality. usually to watch something on You Tube this clear, l have to have it set to "720 pi" or more and let it buff for five minutes for every ten seconds of video. When that happens ' l give it up and go do something else. Totally takes the pleasure out of what l want to watch.
Some thing a company like John Force racing or others should consider doing, incorepating a 60 or 70 muscle car funny car body onto one of thier modern up to todate funny car Chassis. Would definately be a welcomed fan boost from thier as i callem BUBBLE TOPPED bodies.
Anyone out there remember the beach city Corvette roaster. Pat Foster and Gary Gablitich drove the car. I thought it was one of best looking funny car around!
i have been to at least one dragrace a year for the past 35 years. i still get goose bumps everytime one of these things fire up! it will never get old.
The stands were always packed and they would have burnout competitions and the crowd with cheer on their favorite car. Little Red Wagon Hemi under glass wheelie cars the school bus. Damn what a great time to be alive.
Did "Chasing My Dream" try to do a "Dry Hop" while coming to the line, or was my eyes deceiving me? Good vid keep othem coming!!! I remember seeing car like these at 131 Martin Dragway. The Midwest always had the best funny car shows!
🤩🇺🇸👍Saw Brutus when I was kid at Long Island's National Speedway in Manorville. We could hear them 10 miles away on Friday evening! Told pop & we'd be there Saturday night, flames spitting!! MAGA 2024🤩🇺🇸👍
@GW H I know I'm just saying anything with a funnycar body you would expect to at least run high 5's on the 1/4mile....ESPECIALLY in today's racing world where you have fox body Mustangs with X275 tires that run 6's on the 1/4mile.
@GW H yep true....only problem I have is that NHRA tries to slow the cars down too much...its dragracing & cars suppose to be fast & innovative....if teams find extra or more power it should be all about advancement in speeds BUT NHRA implemented EFI but removed the scoops & made them suck in the hottest air on track right at the bottom of the front grille & then they implemented a 10,500 rpm limit.....The 3 Pro classes should only have the weight rule, engine size ,normally aspirated ( Prostock )
These are 60-70's era Funny cars not Top Fuel funny cars. They also don't have to rebuild the engines after every pass. Today's pro stock engines cost more than a complete Nostalgia car. Enjoy them for what they were without those cars back in the day there would be no 3 sec. Funny Cars today.
