Please do not let old school shuffle die. It is not about pounding feet on the ground as hard as possible, not lifting up legs like crazy, it’s a smooth finesse. Much respect
I won't, I'll try to teach my little nephew when he is old enough to walk and dance and such, ... I'll report back in a few years :) (he is now 2 months old)
I prefer old school shuffle, just enjoy it more, but tbh when I'm packed into the club on a dance floor with about 1/2 a square meter, the new styles are all I can manage with knocking someone out. Give me an open floor and I'm sliding across that shit like nothing else. It's a cool to see how all the new styles have taken bits from the old school and built up a specialized style around it.
I guess these days old school shuffle is called aus style because its the aussie style of hardstyle shuffle dance while melbourn shuffle is known to melbourn that style of dance
Melbourne has always been hardcore. I’m educating my daughter on what the ‘70’s, my era was like. The Melbourne Shuffle evolved from the ‘Sharpie’ dance. We rocked hard, we danced hard, you had to be tough to keep up and we loved our local music scene. In the ‘50’scmy Dad was a jitterbug champ. It’s every man ( and woman) on their own.
Jboi, Arder, Typhoon - AUS (here and next i mean aus 2007 era style) 00:44 - Moonboy (i think he does more MAS shuffle than AUS, but I also met another opinion) 1:02 - HSA.Rocky (aus) David - aus 2:39 - SpinachCookie (aus with some modern moves) 3:17 - Mikki (aus) 3:46 - some unknown boys (cutting shapes, not exactly shuffle) 4:40 - T1M (own style based on MAS, someone calls this RUS style but i prefer "mas") 4:53 - Hollow (mas, based on T1M's style) 5:20 - ? (don't know his name, reminds me JinJin) - mas 5:40 - Panich (mas style, more "softer" than previous 3) And what? I don't see oldschool (from 90's) here, i see: 1) 2007 aus (if anyone remember, there are 2 substyles - soft and hard) hard style, 2) cutting shapes, actually i can't call it shuffle (aka melbourne shuffle) - and video contains one of worst examples 3) ~2012 mas and mas-based shuffle.
jboi is like '08-'10 AUS, not '07. Moonboy is AUS style and T1M is RUS style, a style inspired by MAS but looking different via moves. The guy who made this video doesnt realize that RUS was around the '08 era.
Nothing was better in the early 90s than seeing a mass gathering of hardcore ravers at huge all nighters like raindance or even larger masses at new age travellers festivals. Was something very special, a magical time. Happy daze.
All this stuff came from my era and earlier. The Running Man. The Roger Rabbit. The Charleston. These dance moves existed before most of you were born. I was doing this stuff back in the late 1980’s and 90’s And I can still do it today.
Technically the old school would be pre RM, but 07 style would def count as "old-school-style" now that it's 2018. ANd *I will never get over how downright incredible the style truly is.*
those videos shown in this compilation are ot even old school bro. in old school shuffle from the 90 there was no runningman and it was more t step based and you used your upper body more. watch my newest shuffle video and tell me if im not putting everything i have into it.
People always hate new stuff and love old stuff. What do you mean you put everything you have into it? New School aint weak... new school might not be as cool in your opinion but they are shuffling hard and badass....
i grew with these guys we would go to melbourne ccentral station to shuffle and fed square and then whe i turned 18 started going to PHD and hard kandy
You know what shuffle mean.. it mean slide .. Like u slide phone to left and right... New shuffle not slide.. just hitting ground.. It should call Hittle
1. This is '07 style shuffle. Not Old School. Old School you want more 90's, less gliding, No RM, more Tstep variation/hat tricks/upper body 2. The second style is not shuffling. At 4:00 minutes in, that is called "Cutting Shapes" and its ugly to me. lol AFTER that cutting shapes thing, that is Tim's studio video clips lol RUS style shuffle
A kid who was about the get hit by some guys on the school playground turned on scooter and just started dancing like this The other guys just booked it.
It feels like old school had more illusion in the glide, while new school is closer to jumpstyle / top rock (with maybe a bit of Charleston thrown in).
Neither of these styles are better than the other. Old school shuffle is fantastic as its a full body groove, though its hard to keep it up for longer than a couple songs. New school, or cutting shapes, is more for sustained grooving at the rave. You'll still see people doing both ignoring everything above the waist like they're doing the river dance, when you can easily grove with tektonic timed with the foot work, some liquid, pop or something else.
i dance oldschool shuffle 7 years .... and i hate when i talking with someone in club and he tell me ... Bro i know shuffle and start dancing this new shit xD
How are you gonna compare hardstyle to house or techno. Bpm is different and hardstyle is supposed to look hard at. That's the whole point. I hate when ppl want to compare cutting shapes to hardstyle. The music is different. I'm surprised ppl don't try to compare c-walking to hardstyle. Hardstyle is also different to a lot of west coast shufflers, Melbourne shufflers and mas shufflers and rus shufflers. There's different styles of shuffling within the dance. I wouldn't even really considering cutting shapes tonne within the same realm. It's also in terms of difficulty much easier yo learn. That's why the new generation is picking it up.
Funny how new school shuffle seems more dates and closer to older dances like the Charleston. Far less aggressive vibe and less emphasis on travelling across the floor.
If you want true Oldschool Shuffle, you should watch a video called: "Melbourne Shuffle (full documentary)" here on RU-vid, link: /watch?v=i7frKDtfI6E That's oldschool shuffle! This video you are watching right now are NOT oldschool shuffle. That's Hardstyle shuffle from 2007-era and then you have some cutting shapes which I don't even think is counted as "Shuffle". The end of the video is shuffle vid from T1M which is a very hardcore Russian shuffler but that is not oldschool either. That style he is using reminds me more of MAS Shuffle style. Oldschool style shuffle involves a lot of T-steps and upperbody work. Arm movements were also important and also tricks with the hats which people nowdays never do anymore... Oldschool Shuffle was actually very fun to watch since people were very creative and it's a free form of style, you can do so much silly stuff that looks sick and cool. Cutting shapes will never be able to beat Oldschool style ,that's for sure. I feel like we stray further and further away from shuffle the closer to 2018 we come.
@@wW-ud3dv ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QqR6JgP20PY.html or skip to 4:00 in this video. thats true new shcool. takes way more skill lol
El Shuffle old school fue increíble, pero el Shuffle de hoy en día no es solo eso, trae muchos mas estilos de baile, por lo general los dos géneros mas conocidos son Melbourne Shuffle y Cutting shapes, entre otros
We're still here. ✌we just don't focus on hardstyle for public events anymore we mix in different styles into our hardstyle to show the beauty of the evolution and to show homage from where we first began. I prefer Hardstyle more though Haha
Weird recommendation RU-vid but i enjoyed this. After watching this I'm gonna hafto go with old school. The way they flow and slide and use there whole body to really feel the music it hits so much harder to me. New school was still awesome but i noticed no full body groove and it made my news hurt just watching lol.
only my opinion , they're both equal in their own right , I'm 33 so I remember the first time I saw it in a club so I'm old school. but . New School looks fuckn awesome yet chilled at the same time .
Cmon it's not old school at all Its more to hardstyle.. Old school is 1. Melbourne shuffle then followed by 2.Hardstyle, then 3.new school Shuffle style
There is no replacement for the theatrics of old school shuffling. There is so many more elements, the inertia that is used to do what those guys did is next level you need to essentially throw yourself across a room and still have the finesse not to take others out around you. much respect to the kings of shufflers the og Melbourne shufflers that pioneered the scene! New age shuffling ain't shit lol it's so uninspiring 😂
This brings back memories. No wonder we all took ecstasy back then. Doing this shit all night until the sun came up was not physically possible naturally.
This is a bit funny! You call it Old School and New School but in reality both styles were already on the dancefloor before 1995 and they were mixed by the same dancers sometimes in the same song based on the music and the dancers personal feeling which kind of movement matched the current state of music best. There is nothing old or new in it, its just the same basic technique which comes up with different, let's call them, extensions or ways of practicing. If you don't do it already, perhaps you might think about the following tip: Don't limitate yourself by following one school or the other, try and learn both, so you have more ways to express yourself in the music. A good Author is good because he can use a lot of words. It's his vocabulary which gives him the possibility to tell a story great. It's the same for a dancer, as more vocabulary (moves and styles) he/she knows, the more will the dancing evolve.
