Old shoes gets a new life. Crockett & Jones loafers (New welts).

This pair of Crockett & Jones Mertons are about 18 years old and poorly cared for. They were half soled twice before, so the welts needed replacing, before resoling them with JR soles. The upper was in bad condition and needed a proper refurbishing. The heel linings were also replaced.
Job ended up costing about 430 euros (4700 SEK).

COOL ! 👍 My grandfather was a shoemaker... I remember from my summer holidays in my youth the smell of leather and glue, and a big old Singer shoe machine...(Gone forever ! )

I really like your videos, especially the skilled work on repair / restore of leather uppers. And, also how you reinforce the gemming and otherwise make the shoes very structurally sound. Very rare to find someone with all these skills.

Very rarely. The quality shoes that is restorable like this, usually has leather that rejuvinates with just conditioner and cream. But every situation is unique.
