@@Kabodanki the publishers didn't create it, the developers created it. They care. The publishers don't, they're just money people. Some do, some have some actual passion for the art they sponsor. Konami not an example of that, as they have repeatedly demonstrated. Look into some Silent Hill development history and you'll pick up on exactly how much they demonstrate it. Be careful with your assumptions. I can pick out two big things wrong with your argument. First is obvious; you don't have to have personal experience in order to have a valid criticism. That only flies when people are saying something's really easy to do (which nobody was saying here). Second is just insulting; pretending to know whether or not a complete stranger is a creative sort, just due to a disagreeing opinion (which you didn't even read properly). This sort of magical strawman exercise always faulters. People... unless they're extreme trend-slaves, and even sometimes then... are never what you imagine them to be within your anger to be right about something. I happen to be an excessively creative person. That shouldn't matter one way or the other toward what I'm talking about though, should it? I've had experience of 3D bones animation, although not object construction. I'm a systems design hobbyist with a strong amount of practice in that area, which isn't exactly this area - also a songwriter. None of that's relevant, right? I'm related to a famous horror movie star. But who cares, right? I'm right or wrong about this completely regardless of any of that. The most creative person in the world can plainly see that Konami has neglected the Silent Hill franchise. The least creative person in the world can also plainly see that. You don't need skills, you just need sense and knowledge. I've got nothing to do with it. The speight of new announcements that occurred after both our comments is encouraging... but still very corporate. If it leads to a single good project, then I say the motivation to cash in on the residue of hardcore fan interest that eternally lingers is a long overdue good thing. The new Silent Hill 2 remake for instance, is something a lot more like what I was hoping here for Silent Hill 1 when I made that comment 5 years ago. So that's hopeful! Doesn't mean I respect them. These are the people who told the only person they had who knew how to program 3D that he had to either do the entire first game by himself or else go completely uncredited for teaching others how to do it. These are the people who cancelled what PT was going to be, due to a personality clash. These are the people who not only deleted the finalized code of Silent Hill 2 in order to save disk space, but also insisted the team developing HD Collection get zero extra time once that forgotten fact was rediscovered, even though the task was now monumentally more difficult - and also refused to cancel it, insisting one of the most broken messes ever put to disc get released regardless (and still never even patched on one of the consoles it released on). These are the people who handed the IP over to an outside studio on the basis of nothing more than them being the only one they asked who bothered to make a demo video (them only asking tiny inexperienced studios, presumably to keep costs down... actually not even potentially the worst idea in terms of creative drive, but you have to then support them by involving bigger more experienced studios, which they did not). These are the people who had entire voice suites re-recorded and let a big argument rage on for months for no other reason than to be able to not pay the previous voice actors for their work. There's your caring publisher. Not so very different from most of them but that normality still only amounts to dismaying.
