I went to town last year to get paint and realized after I got to the store that I hadn’t put in my dentures. Girl, it was my 2 top front teeth! I went ahead and got my paint. 🤷♀️
Oh no lol I’ve done that before but I went back home and got it. I just have 1 side tooth on my plate. I would’ve died inside if I had noticed after I got to the store. I could’ve just wore my mask but I think about the “what if I get into an accident and have to go to the hospital lol
Karrie, you and I are so much alike. It makes me laugh how you tackle problems because it's totally how I do things too (usually start with a plan but usually end just going off the cuff, lol). You are my ultimate favorite RU-vidr. I have recently re-watched some of your vlogs from back on the ranch and your mobile home . My goodness, you and your family have grown so much. It's so wonderful to see how far y'all have come! I am almost 50yrs old and empty nested now, but our story is so similar! My husband is the sole provider income wise. I homeschooled my children, and we are just now seeking to purchase our first real house, having relocated from So.California to East Tennessee. Long story short, I wish you and yours the best and the Lord will continue to bless you and your family! The new-to-you table came out beautifully! Looking forward to your next video! Thanks for sharing your life with us!
Thank you for your comment. I’m new to Karrie’s channel so I’ve not been along for her family’s journey. Now I want to go back and binge watch her previous episodes! 😉 Wish you and your husband the very best! You’re gonna love East Tennessee! (I live in western NC, and East Tenn. is where we go to camp twice a year.) So welcome to the south honey!
I applaud you for not only creating another masterpiece, but doing it in the dead of summer 🥵. This reminds me of the other table you did, but I love these chairs way more. The contrast of black and white is so farmhouse 🥰. Have a blessed weekend sweetie. - Arlene
karrie I do a bunch of wood working and I think your best bet will be to wood glue that spool or use liquid nails and clamp it and let it dry I think that will be the most efficient way to fix it!!
Absolutely love this tutorial. I used your technique to refinish my exact same dining set over a year ago. Looks fantastic in my farmhouse decor home. The finish is holding up well, too. So good in fact I’m going to use it on my curio cabinet next! Thank you!
You are awesome. All your work to make your home Look beautiful. Keep up the work. I love what you did with the table. I Love watching you. Your husband is probably so proud.
My parents purchased an old oak table and chairs just like this from an estate sale back in the very early 70s. It was an antique and quite a find. They hand stripped and sanded off all the layers of paint to stain and seal that old oak wood. It was a beautiful set. Having said all that to say that I'm a huge fan of natural wood HOWEVER your table and chairs are GORGEOUS ‼️ You did a phenomenal job and all those layers look so beautiful on the table top. I love that you chose black for the chairs. A triple BRAVO for this job so WELL DONE 👏🏻‼️👏🏻
You did an excellent job I just wish I had your energy... The black chairs make the entire kitchen set love the color the tabletop came out thank you for sharing you always give me so many ideas and most of all you give me hope!
I've been looking forward to this makeover video because I have the exact table and have been wanting to do SOMETHING with it. Girl, this was worth the wait! That table is gorgeous and I LOVE it with the black chairs!
I have the same table and have been hating the outdated look for at least 5 years. I love your project and you are so real about your scratch n start over attitude. Soooo glad I came across your video I was about to put it on the curb before my husb comes back from out of town😂 he bought it so he wants it forever😊 thank you!
I had a console table the same orange tone and I had to sand and sand and sand. So that the orange would be removed. I ended up staining it dark walnut and it came out amazing
WOW. Gotta love a great happy accident. That's absolutely stunning. Just perfection. I know how difficult that kind of work is. But you make it look doable. Love it.
Karrie I have this same table and chair's for 20 years I painted the chair's black a few year's ago and they still look great. I. Painted the table base black also looks good still. The top oh the
Wow it looks great . I just brought one of those tables up from my basement. Glad they are back in style , you can't beat free. I may copy your technique. Love the chairs the black too.
Love the table. It turned out so good! I seen u get the stain after u painted it white. I was like girl what are u doing and then after seeing it. I’m like this chick is a genius!
I have used the brand Farmhouse paint which has the primer and sealer in it, but it behave like chalk paint achieving and the only thing you need to do to your piece is make sure it's clean and any scratches or dents that you want to repair. Anyway you can also use it like a stain by applying it on a damp surface just wiping back. And this technique you are using your using the stain glazing. I love it. Nice color selection
The chairs look real good black I’m trying to do a table my great grandpa made over 100 years ago and I could really use you lol you do beautiful work with everything you do 💓💓💓💓
I have a dining room set very similar to that -- four of the chairs may be the same as yours. But mine is a more subdues color, even though it's still an oak color. It's more brown than yellow or (thank God!) orange. But it only had four chair with it when I found it, so I had to buy two much more modern chairs of a similar design. I have then at the ends of the table, with matching chairs at the sides. The two newer chairs are a redder color, but still not yellow or orange. I also found a vintage oak buffet with a mirror and mantle that not only matches the table and chairs, but fits exactly into the space I had available. Anyway, my suggestion is this: consider using primer in your next big paint project. A good stain-blocking primer will mask the unwanted yellow and orange in the wood, and will give you a good base for your paint to stick to. You can still distress or add any decorating techniques you want, including decoupage. The primer won't interfere with anything you put on top of it, but it will help your paint stick, and will help prevent peeling and chipping.
I recently painted my first piece of furniture and I thought it was a big pain in the butt! Kudos to you for tacking not only the table but all those chairs!
I love how your table and chairs turned out with the colors you chose. I have had that exact table and chairs for 30 years and have been wanting to get them painted for some time. Painting them really changed the look for the better. Great job.
Wow girl that is beautiful, I have one similar but with claw feet. In the oak. The first purchase my husband and I made 31 years ago it still looks brand new it has held up with 3 children and 10 grandchildren plus the daughters in law and son-in-law. I would love to change hubby says NO. Absolutely love your table and cabinet you rock. Thanks for inspiring
Very nice and i used to have the same table and chairs! Golden oak is a real bear to do a good job on because of the beautiful deep wood grain and orange tones . I try to use a bit of a cooler tone ot base to help counter that and do a spray shellac or lightly rolled on shellac to softly seal the tops of furnature . But i do love that water based poly for its clean up and fast dry time.
