I just want to give u a huge 👍👍 for all the hard work u put into this site. When I was a very young many people introduced me to "radio theater". All the classics. They used to be on the radio after my bedtime. My brother would sneak into my room & we would listen together. Until sites like this, it became really hard to find any great radio dramas, outside of Britain. So a big round of 👏 ! Thank you & please keep bringing these GREAT radio dramas!

I particularly love the "busy commerce"style visuals, with all of the people bustling about.

In the late 30's, on Broadway NYC. Oh.!! those days before WWII, you can tell by the Cars, hats & clothes. My first car was a 1937 Chevy, I paid 50 bucks for it used, but of course $50.oo bucks was a months pay in those days, a new Ford was less than a $1000.oo I worked on a farm in the summer time, when school was out for $50.oo a month. I'm a very old guy now, waiting for the end of time for me, still smoking, but not drinking anymore. Bye, Bye, everyone, see ya on the other side of time.

Hi Larry! thanks for taking the time to share these memories with us! The old time street scenes are some of the most popular OTR Visual Radio scenes! I think they help set the mood for the shows. Thanks for tuning in!

It’s odd to hear commercials on a 70 year old radio show and see a contemporary TV commercial for a product/company with the same name not associated with American Tobacco or Proctor & Gamble. This is also the only time I haven’t went annoyed by a commercial. That’s at anytime not a dig at this show or channel in any way it would be unreasonable to expect quality shows and also have them edited as well. Very happy with the shows as is.

Yeah the old time commercials are part of the experience to me. They were back then too, somehow it seemed less intrusive than ads today. Usually there would only be one or two commercials and only for one product. BTW I've been told that RU-vid runs ads on my channel. Just to be clear this is not me and I receive no money for this channel other than donations from generous viewers through the links in my descriptions. 😀

@@HearthandHomeEntertainment I say stuff and later realize that I wasn’t entirely clear so that’s why I wanted you to know I wasn’t complaining about the commercials.

A lot of Gaystone & a few Brownstone apartments. I'd like to live in one, but there too expensive & it's too cld in NYC, for me, but that's OK, as we live in Sunny South Florida where it never freezes, the lowest temperature we've had is 45° F. in January. But today it's about 75° F. On March 01st 2022, we are waiting for 85° to 90°F that's our normal temperature for summer time, April to October. I love the warm temperatures better than those cold days below 83° F, that I find 83° F is the turning point from warm to cold. Yikes.!!! Below 83° F is a cold day.

@@HearthandHomeEntertainment I came to South Florida, back in 69, straight from Alaska's North Slope, where I was flying for Exxon oil Co. when they struck oil in the late 60's.

Lesley Woods voiced Mary in the original NBC series with Chester Morris. These episodes are from the syndicated Mutual series with Richard Kollmar and Jan Miner.

@@HearthandHomeEntertainment But isn’t Lesley Woods in some of the episodes with Richard Kollmar ? Her voice is distinctive.

To my knowledge, Jan Miner was the only one to play Mary in the Mutual/ Kollar episodes. If someone else knows more about this please feel free to jump in the conversation! 😀
