The wagon was enough habitat for growth. Have seen with my property. First junky vegetarian, then better trees will come. I cut down the junk as the good grows.
Probably what happened was they were heading to get supplies or to a new location when their horse died and had no choice but to leave the wagon and only take what they could with the only horse and continue to the nearest town... And that's how the wagon was left there and if anyone was able to dig in that area would find relics
Oregon and norcal have some crazy stuff growing into trees too. There's skeletons that have trees that grew around the in Oregon and norcal. People who wanted to walk off into the woods for their final days. I met one of these guys in his 70's dying from cancer. He was a securty guy for casinos all his life. His final act was to walk off into the redwoods of northern California. He almost made it too. They foujd him deceased in a state park bathroom in Bandon Oregon. He had left depoe bay and was on his way to Humboldt. Stopped in the bathroom at a state park in bandon and never made it into those woods.
