Diesels are economical getting more miles from a full tank than a petrol equivalent, the problems with smoke result from poor or non existent servicing, if serviced properly and regularly, smoke is kept to a minimum, of course you'll always get a cloud of blue smoke in the morning when you start up, but this soon goes and isn't a serious problem.
It's kind of funny, as an American, to see the cars running on LPG bearing badges that say "Powered by Gas" considering that's what we call Petrol here in the US.
Up to this date I had 6 diesels and curently own my first petrol car VW Bora 1.4 16v. Yes its consumption is crap, yes it have almost no value compared to diesel equivalent BUT in thermes of reliability and smoothness diesel is NO MATCH compared to petrol cars. Speaking from 4 years of expirience driving my Bora and almost 100 000km.
Diesel is the Fuel of the Serialkiller, nothing stinks, looks, poisons, pollutes as good as Dieselfuel(oil)...Should be illegal as the Fumes are the most noxious and toxic available, and only ppl in vehicles right behind the Polluters can appreciate a Petrol Car as Diesel Drivers dont have to breath in the Discusting Fumes.....
Mine switches at 20c and takes the heat from the watercooled turbo. Changes over after 10 seconds before I even pulled out of the parking spot in the garage. Wehen freezing outside it takes 30 seconds. You can even start on LPG any car you want. Only problem is high load for the first few seconds as the vapourizer might freeze that's why you have a switch over temperature as high as 40c so there's 0% compromise
Paianni just because they give it a better exhaust and marketing gurus call it 'Blue Motion' or whatever its still rattely loud smelly. Here I'll think of a Buzzword GreenTech but its still a smelly diesel
