Hey man, I am slowly socking away a few dollars here and there to get one of these this fall. I am trying to decide if holding out for the autopilot is worth doing, or if I should start with the PDL. It's my first Kayak, but I don't want to get the PDL and then wish I had held out after a few trips. I'd love to get your thoughts as I believe you've had both versions. I will be fishing mostly Southern Utah lakes. Thanks!
What style of fishing do you do? Do you want to fish or kayak? I’ve had many different kayaks. Paddle it is great for enjoying the outdoors on a good day and doing some fishing as well. Pedal kayaks still let you feel like your kind of kayaking, stay out or go out in some wind and still enjoy, and get more fishing in. The motor kayak is amazing. You are there to fish. Sure there is a little “kayaking” enjoyment but not much. It’s all about the fishing and the weather doesn’t matter for the most part. No workout on the motor where you get some with the paddle/pedal. The only workout from the motor is taking it on and off the water (trailer recommended for the motor kayak). I would not give up my autopilot. But now and then it’s fun to get on the pedal or paddle. When your ready to buy reach out to me! If you ever want to try one we can probably meet up at some point also I don’t get down south to much but I’ll be down in October for the state championship.
@@ShootFishLife Thanks for the reply. It would be for fishing 100%. I've spent many years on a small pontoon boat fly fishing, but have transitioned to bass the last few years. When I get closer to having the cash, I will reach out for a demo and make a trip up to SLC. Thanks again.
