Old versus new at Highlands Motorsport Park Speedfest 

This is the fantastic Highlands Motorsport Park during their 2024 Festival of Speed with this race the Highlands Modern Classics class. I am in my 1974 Porsche 911 IROC (rep) chasing my brother’s 1990s Porsche 964 RSR (rep), with a Ford V8 Supercar and Porsche 996 GT3 Cup Car, and finally a modified BMW, keeping us busy.
Highlands is 4.1 km (2.55 miles) long with 22 turns and is a very unforgiving circuit best described by Craig Baird: “The track is sensational - a man's track, old school ... too many modern-day tracks tend to treat drivers as if they should be wrapped in cotton wool. On this track, if you make a mistake, you'll pay for it, and it'll be an expensive day.” (ODT, 01 April 2013). Craig Baird MNZM is now the driving standards observer for the Australian Supercars Championship following an extensive racing history.
