Fun fact: Every other province in the Empire is connected by navigable waterways to Reikland, even Nordland and Ostermark. Middenheim is on a rock in the middle of nowhere, accessible only by bridges over chasms. They manage to be Reikland's closest neighbor, yet the furthest away at the same time.

Remember these videos when you recruit a utility hero that wanders around your territories raising public order, or boosting income, or what have you. While not fighting horrible monsters, swarms of rats, and whatever else, they are probably the single most stressed people in your army. Middenland is like that other sibling you just don’t get along with, but can’t clean the house without; perfectly willing to work with you (in canon Boris accepted Karl Franz as Emperor for unity’s sake) but more than willing to undercut you at every turn to make you look like an asshole.
Nordlanders, most of whom have Norscan ancestors are somehow more chill and generally cool to hang with than many Middenlanders, maybe it's the lack of obsession over wolves.
There is one kid in Middenland with name Karl So Middenlanders could say that Karl from Middenland is still better than Karl Franz and certainly better than Stirland

What the people of Middenland keep forgetting is that Sigmar worshiped Ulric... So in a way, the Cult of Sigmar is technically worshipping Ulric as well...
They do know, but the bad thing is they think worshipping Sigmar is “not right” since Sigmar worshipped Ulric and blessed by him. Why worshipping Sigmar instead of Ulric? *cough cough real life religion coflicts* They prefer the mono-god worshipping system than worship both of the gods.
@@TamLe-bj2yl actually some do not even think sigmar became a god, thinking the new religion(cult of sigmar) was based on a lie. and even those that think he is a god, are perfectly happy with the other imperial gods (taal, mors, etc) its just sigmar they take issue with. so its not that they prefure mono-god system but that they dislike the new god on the block. its more of a conservativist vs progressive conflict more than anything else. also religious conflicts in general are not particularly different from any other social conflict.
@@TamLe-bj2yl Which strikes me as being odd, it's like I get that Ulric is a pretty important diety and all but *have people (both in-universe and outside) forgotten that the religion of the Empire IS in fact still polytheism,* there's more (arguably more) important gods besides Ulric and Sigmar. *It's why I find the terms "Sigmarite" and "Ulrican" so gods damned bizarre,* because these terms implies monotheism or monotheistic tendencies between worshippers of an agian polytheistic religion with many gods. What use is a god of war like Ulric to the growth of crops and the harvests? What does a warrior turned god like Sigmar know of the waterways and seas? That's where the other gods come in, a goddess like Rhaylla blessings of the harvest feed the soldiers of the Empire, It is Mannan, lord of the waters, the rivers and seas of the greatest realm of man in the Old World that are it's vital arteries, yet neither of these gods and the others in the Imperial Pantheon don't seem to get nearly as much respect or praise as the two war gods. Heck stranger still the self appointed heads of the two most 'prominent' gods get tons of political leverages and boons even with the Arch Lector of the Sigmarite Church and the Ar-Ulric of Ulric's Temple each get their own frickin Elector votes thus giving two cults vast influence on politics and theocracy within the Empire at the dismal expense of the other cults. *the cults of Sigmar and Ulric act more like wannabe competing monotheistic religions than parts of the same bloody pantheon!* Its a miracle the two cults haven't gone into any serious religious wars with each other over their dogma, more miraculous still they haven't tried to outlaw the other cults where their rule and grip is strongest Riekland for the Sigmarites and Middenland for the Ulricans, they both seem like just a few steps away from doing so and even going a step further by trying to do the same to the rest of the Empire through bloody repression.
the middenlanders think that the cult of sigmar forgets that, because the sigmarite cult is more prominent and they think that its disrespectful to their god. I'm pretty sure they still respect sigmar, but they have conflict with the sigmarite cult because the sigmarites hold more political and social influence.

@@Troupe_Master No, he says he grew up outside Ubersreik in the first game, it comes up a lot. Also, the Empire's religion is polytheistic, people worship multiple gods not just one. Tilea and Estalia share the same gods as the Empire (apart from Sigmar), and peasants in Bretonnia worship some of them too. Kruber probably focuses on Taal because he's from a farm community and Taal is the god of the wilds.

A group of middenlanders stormed Altdorf today waving flags with boris todbringers face on them and secessionist flags as well. This is the first time secessionist flags were seen in Altdorf. As a result Karl Franz loaded up the hammer in the back of deathclaw and flew to Middenheim and kicked boris in the face. Yay democracy!

Emperor Karl Franz is disgusted with the news but his rival, The newly crowned and appointed 'Supreme leader of the Empire of Middenland and Holy born Son of Ulric' Boris 'Toddy' Todbringer says he will now turn his attention to the destruction and annihilation of the Beastmen and Ratmen... yo if middenland falls, the whole world is in trouble thats why valten showed up and kicked archaon's butt (althought the real version that should be official for the lulz was supposed to be grimgor headbutting archaon, because that is how the international chaos storm tempest ended up) but I like Ulric as a god moreover, there are some real theologic "muscled" debate between the church of Sigmar and the believers of Ulric. Sigmar did worshipped Ulric before ascending, so many claim that the empire should be following Ulric. Or that the hammer is itself a weapon of Ulric, therefore the symbol of the empire is the symbol of Ulric. there is even a choice to make in the campaigns following Shadows over bogenhafen, ennemy inside or death on the reik. and most important: -casually rolls attack -ROLLS MAX DAMAGE CONFIRMS CRIT *ULRIC'S FURY UNLEASHED* keep those vids Tariff, I enjoy my minute of fantasy history reminding me of certain details I overlooked on the french warhammer ressource (bibliotheque imperiale) and its a nice introduction to the people who are curious

I'm a lizardman fan, but their lore is pretty undercooked, so they probably won't get them. We pretty much have Mazdamundi, Mazda-adjecent, and then the Cult of Sotek. Unless I'm missing something huge. Skaven clans were already done with Team Fortress, but there are an absolute ton of minor clans that could still be defined. As an aside, Clan Mors is always kinda funny, since it's technically a small, minor clan, but is sort of the poster child for the Skaven. Dwarfs, High Elves, Brettonia, and Tomb Kings seem to have the most on hand material to define the various lesser territories and sub factions.
Middenland is also home to monsters that one Markus Wulfhart slayed on a daily basis back when he was home. Last I heard, he left after the nobles wanted to collect their fair share from him.
At least they aint FUCKING Stirland. Also i gotta ask: when is Todbringer gonna bring more Tods? Tod is not normal name, so he is failing at Todbringing.
Middenheim, the capital, is actually full of "enlightened" nobles and is a fairly liberal place. Either because GW wanted to create a contrast between the too or because they think consistently and logical world-building is for losers. Also, the former territories of the Drakwald Province (which haven't reverted to Beastmen-infested forest) kind of have their own interests in court.
