He was in a group of 8 other men who were trying to be break out rappers when he was a singer. If you were in his crew, and you showed a moments doubt he’d give you the illest look and tell you you were the greatest who ever done did it. And you BELIEVED him for some crazy reason. I was in 9th grade when he decided to leave us. I’m 35, and it feels like a lifetime ago. I still miss him like crazy but his words will echo into eternity. His brothers will see that he gets the peace in death that wasn’t afforded to him in life.
These guys str8 up the realest. Geniuses and literary legends. Someone say something about their accents having something to do with intelligence. Go ahead and try that smoke.
@@bushmastersavimbi3379that's bullshit. Odb was the least talented in the group and GZA wrote all his shit. And looks like they did quite well after his death.
Huge respect for ODB... When he talked about his father working his whole life, got nothing, had a song, and his son went out and became somebody, so he can buy him a mansion BOOM damn ODB can appear to some as an uneducated thug but that's a man who lives life not fearing death and u can tell he's got some WISDOM and awareness about reality... There will never be another family as close and as real as Wu tang
I try to tell people this. They confuse his rap persona with his character. He was a real dude who liked to entertain people and loved his people. You hear how he talked about bringing in other people behind him.
hip hop will NEVER have another wu-tang clan. not even in the literal form. no one keeps it as real as they did and influenced as many people. too many hipster fans nowadays its too easy to spot
''so my children can take over when im not around'' That hit me in the soul because Ason can't physically see how his son is carrying the torch. RIP to a bright spirit.
I thought ODB was a lunatic tbh. After checking him out more, i now see that he's actually a genius and visionary in a very complex package. the man was far from a fool
He's a real one, I'll say that. Got guts and the grit to do what he did. And all he did (mostly), he did it for his family. Can't say you do not respect a man toiling for his family.
They have such great chemistry that all 7 men can seamlessly jump in an out of the convo with no one being cut off and every single person clearly articulating their point
This was when I thought Ol Dirty was the best fighter in Wu. Maybe next to Ghost. Ol Dirty just seemed like a wild ass dude who would get in you quick.
I always thought he would use the drunken style. On the outside it appears to be total chaos, but every move is precisely calculated. Which if you think about and listen to Return to the 36 Chambers is his whole persona.
I teared up watching this… I from the era.. “the Sun don’t chill ALLAH!”….. peace A-Son “We just trying to make it how it used to be”.. Salute to the best hip-hop group ever
You can't get no realer than that. RIP ODB you are truly loved and missed. I saw two of your sons' music videos today and I love it they are their father's son. Great job Legend your legacy lives on
I’m a huge killer bee, but I just watched this for the first time, and wow, they really do have a positive motive that is bigger than all of them, and im extremely impressed at how they describe why they do what they do. We need more artists like them now
It still blows my mind to this day just looking at them (minus RZA & GFK) how in the world these 9 guys happen to know each other. I mean so many grand personalities ODB standing next to Method Man thats just too much talent for 1 group like 9 MJ's(Michael Jordans or Michael Jacksons) on a team/group...thats a once in a lifetime authentic creation of a group we may never see again in any music genre.
That's exactly what I was tripping on, it did confuse me too because I seen you gave him props also. Thank you for clearing that up. One big miscommunication. It's all love now my brotha, peace!!!!
Fortunately i did at the wu tang forever tour he came out with a jackdaniels bottle and when The Sundome turned the lights on He grabbed the mic from Rza and said fuck that shhiiit, i wanna do Maria and started doing it acapella. Ive been to prolly over 200 hiphops and that was my favorite memory of them all, 2nd was redman slapping the shit out of a fan hangn over the balcony doing once upon a time up in tampa yoooo....
Respect for wu tang and they are talented real and honest. There is nothing wrong in coming from a poor family and it goes to show that we can work hard and get ahead no matter what I love these guys don't get this talent a lot no more respect
Yeah man, I was very surprised by this interview that ODB did. He was definitely intellectual, but those drugs and alcohol that he did, and also the run in with the police was his demons, and his demons killed him. It's ashamed that he should've enjoyed his success.
I've been a huge Wu fan my whole life an never saw this interview an odb vibe was so intelligent here meth was quiet for once😂an gza an raekwon spoke the most😂
