Older Vehicle ? Doesn't Matter - CARPURIDE 901 PRO Navigation / Android Audio / Car Play Solution
I've recently changed my vehicle from a newer model with Android Auto & Apple Car Play built in, to a much older model. I needed a solution to retain the newer mobile phone connectivity and the Carpuride 901 PRO was the device for that.
Quick and easy to install - with a range of mounting options either onto the dashboard or windscreen, this is pretty much plug and play. The unit links to your car audio via FM, Bluetooth or via a line in / aux cable which is supplied in the box - you then have the same functions as the newer vehicles, albeit with a standalone screen.
The 9" touchsceen is bright and responsive and once again, I am able to navigate to my wild camping destinations and enjoy seamless audio and phone integration due to the Carpuride 901 PRO.
Great bit of kit which I am happy to recommend!

It obscures a substantial part of the windscreen - is it therefore safe and legal?

Of course it's legal. It doesn't obscure a substantial part of the windscreen, that's obviously subjective. As to whether 'it's safe' I really can't advise as to what you think is safe or not. I suppose if you were concerned, you could mount it on your dashboard like I talk about in this video.

The only reason I haven't gone with these is because I make a lot of phone calls. So I get that the sound from the carpuride goes to the car radio via BT/Aux in. But where is the microphone to make calls? You also lose steering wheel controls etc to make calls.

I think the mic is on the unit itself - either that or it uses your phone mic

It would be good if you could properly test this and check if the person on the other side can hear you clearly while driving on a motorway. Or if these units can be fitted with an external microphone.

@cactuscat3101 I've made lots of calls on it - it works. No more testing required. I don't know how exactly it works, but the calls function works.

Oh i understand completely about down grading vehicles, i sold my car 2 years ago for a van that i swear Fred & Wilma Flinstone drove😂 as my dog couldn't get in the car anymore as he was poorly. Anyway long story short ive since turned the van into a camper and get away as much as possible but do really still miss alot about my car,just small things really like defrosting wing mirrors option, music is a big one! Everything lit up in my car and the van...well lets say its basic!😂 so that device you have looks absolutely brilliant! I tried using a thing that goes into the cigarette lighter/usb and it was supposed to atleast give me DAB but sadly not! Its the simple things 😂...great vid of showing what the device is capable of and more 👍.
