Samarkand Fort
In this video we will show you the 803 years old Samarkand Fort which is situated on the top of a hill between the deep ditches in the thick forest. This fort was constructed in 1221 by Turk General Sultan Jalaluddin Khwarazm in a thick forest for hidden after defeat from Genghis Khan. Now just the ruins of this fort remain left. Now a days it is running rainy season and in this season this fort disappears weird method. How it disappears it is an interesting story?. In this video we will show you this Samarkand fort and also tell you the history of this fort. In fact it is a historical place and the history lover persons should visit this place essentially. I tell you the address of this fort. If you are coming from Lahore or Islamabad than you will travel on motorway M2 and will exit from Tehsil Kallar Kahar District Chakwal interchange which is situated in Salt Range. You will reach from the Kallar Kahar on the distance of 22 kilometer in Maira Aima village Chinji road. You will reach in this fort with a local guide of the village after three and a half hours walk after crossing a series of folded ridges south from the village. The way of this fort is very difficult and maze and it is impossible to reach here without the local guide. The distance of this fort is from Khushab is 92 kilometer. Local people claiming to be historians will tell you this was the original Samarkand whence the inhabitants migrated and settled here in 250 CE. Little do these know that Samarkand in Central Asia was where Alexander the Great in a drunken rage killed his General Cleitos. This was the very man who had saved Alexander from an attacker in the thick of battle on the Granicus River in Turkey. I want to tell you that in February 1221 Sultan Jalaluddin Khwarazm on the run from the Mongols passed through this area. Here he befriended the local chieftain Rai Sangin of the Khokhars. Rai Sangin took him on the hills in thick forest. Here Sultan Jajaluddin Khawarzam constructed a fort for his defense. Later this Fort became famous Samarkand because Khawarzam was the strongest city defensively that time in 1219 and its name was Samarkand Fort. That is the reason Sultan Jalaluddin Khawarzam named this place the Samarkand Fort. The Samarkand Fort which was constructed in the beginning of 13th century but now only the ruins of this fort remains which are eliminating on the lack interest of the archaeology department. And now if do not pay attention than these ruins will also eliminated and the mention of this fort will met only in books. However it can become a tourist place also if the Government will take steps on that and provide facilities to the tourists. This is a wonderful place for the persons who seek the history. The snakes and other wild animals live here in large numbers. The wild animals also attack the human therefore you should come here after taking security arrangements. But this is a beautiful and natural place to visit.
I hope you will like and enjoy this video.
