500 points a month Oldhammer 'Tale of 4 gamers' style army challenge for WHFB 6th Edition. Apologies for pic quality - was trying a different approach which apparently was not as successful as I'd hoped... Decided uploading it was probably better than just killing it with fire and not revisiting...

Wow, the Shades turned out nicely. I did something similar back in 6th where I took some wood elf Plastics (from 4th) and weapon swapped them for my shades. Will you use the Druchii net update for the Dark Elves?

Oh wow I wish I had thought to do that for my shades, the longer cloaks would set the tone of the minis really nicely. Wasn't aware of the Druchi net update, I'm just running off of the 6th ed army book with the updates from the Chronicles 2004 supplement presently.

Remember Fast cavalry auto rally if they voluntary fled the turn before. So the musician is only good for when unit is broken or panicked by something.

Excellent point and worth calling out as that rule is often missed. I'm a fan of taking musicians in fast cavalry units as fast cav units by their nature often operate outside the leadership bubble of the general, and given their low armour save they make a tempting target for archers etc. At least if they panic due to shooting casualties then they hopefully have a chance to rally before skipping off the board in their next turn... ;-)

It's also for tie breaking a combat, dunno how relevant that'll be for dark riders, though.

@@username12120 good point as they'll mostly be dealing with 'light' units on the flanks as a general rule so any combat resolution bonus will be helpful.

Thanks so much! For an older group of minis they were really enjoyable to paint - a testament to the quality of the sculpts given they are now 20 years old.

Hey Stu, how are the oathmark human cavalry horses next to the old GW ones? Got some loose cav riders that need mounts and period appropriate horses are almost at gold weight in price.

Hey @username12120 did a match-up and the Oathmark are shorter, narrower and generally slighter. They are a little bigger than the Warlord ones if that helps? Yes I can very much appreciate the issue with tracking down reasonably priced spare mounts. could I perhaps suggest you have a quick search on Etsy or Ebay for 3d prints? Thanks for the add!

@@evilstu3177 Thanks Stu, I'll probably look around for 3d prints in the end, need a horse for one of my galloper gun teams and some pack mules, oxen, and horses for some baggage train bases I wanna build.

@@evilstu3177 Thanks! I found my old balsa wood stash, so I've been building things out of them, made some chariots for my beastmen army, gonna make a coach for my vampire counts, and as mentioned the baggage trains for my human armies. Its been a blast working through these.

Regrettably not. I don't really do much in the way of social media (this channel is about as far as it goes) so was unaware there was a 6th ed WHFB FB group. Glad to hear there are still enough people about tinkering with 6th ed to keep such a group active! :)

75p on 5 Shades? Counted in the Light Armor but didn't list it? 5 Shades alone would be only 70p. Get 5 points back from there, upgrade the Light Armor on Noble to Heavy Armor and pick up a Shield making it 498p

Ah yep I didn't call out the light armour on the Shades - Felt the need to give them a little protection (beyond their skirmish formation) given their comparatively high base points cost. thanks for flagging!
