It's a sami reindeer herding chant but I don't know what the words are they use to call the reindeer. I sing it with my choir.

Many other choir leaders in the UK - as well as ours - were taught the song by someone who obviously had the incorrect information. We understand that the song is by a group called Angelit. @@ChapsChoir I teach this song also here in Ireland and was told it was a finish reindeer herding song. So it looks like no more information has been added to the song from the women Sara above, it would be most helpful to know more, as it is a powerful and fab song to be teaching especially at this time of year.

A band called Angelic. The song is called Neida meaning girl and you can listen to the track here, that is as much as I have found. I am part of the NVN network in the UK for song leaders and one person told me this. Hope that helps

By all accounts, Angelit is a Sami women’s group, so it’s kind of close, but still has nothing to do with reindeer.
