Thanks for all the messages. Olive and Mabel thank you as well. I'm still trying to talk them into a third, deciding match, but contract talks have stalled.
I would be happy to step in as a mediator. I use a particularly effective technique called the belly rub, sometimes enhanced with the chin scratch. May I be of service? Or is this all a ruse by you and your cohorts to build up anticipation and a bigger worldwide audience? If so, it is working, but we can't hold out much longer.
An idea, Mr. Cotter. Why not create a best two out of three contest with an online wagering site where people around the world can place their bets on the three contests and all proceeds go to one or more of the UK charities supporting the COVID-19 fight. Get some wealthy folks to match bets. You would get pre-battle network coverage in the U.S., where I heard about it, and likely around the world. Game of Bones and The Breakfast Grand Final were just warm-ups for the final three contests. My money's on Olive for the snooze on the couch.
I'm so happy for Mable, after the questionable bowl placing incident. It's a pleasure to be able to witness two great doggies go paw to paw, truely a golden age of sport.
@Finbar Mcallister Yes, the mob was certainly involved. Bookmakers up and down the country reported irregular barking patterns in the lead up to that final.
Doug Scott Indeed, foul deeds were afoot. Well-placed sources report Tania Harding’s boyfriend was observed stepping off a private jet, leaving in a dark SUV with heavily tinted windows. Is it any surprise Mable’s bowl placer was hobbled?
There's a fundamental dynamic at work here in terms of how animals play. A very important animal study was done that showed that across all species, a dominant (stronger) animal will allow a weaker animal to "win" about 20% of the time. This is an important precursor to empathy and theory of mind that has more fully developed in humans. This 20% demonstrates a spirit of kinship and cooperation among a family or group. In this case, Olive was holding out the bone, knowing at some point she would allow Mabel to seize it. Her look to the owner at the end was not "oh, gee I'm so sad she took it", but rather "see, I am strong but also generous to Mabel". I used to have a couple of min pins that did the EXACT same thing. I would give them both one of those fried pig ears that are really hard for chewing. After a small amount of chewing, the female would take hers and go hide it. The stronger male would the put his on display and let her see it. Eventually, he would let the female finally (after some playful back and forth) swipe his pig ear and run off with it. Then he would give me that sort of sly look like "see Dad, I'm just being nice to her". Then of course he would go find the pig ear that she had hidden, she would act angry that he found it and want it back, and the game would continue!
After seeing several of these sportscasters narrating details of their lives I’ve really come to appreciate that its an art. It’s quick witted, Astute, observant, and poetic.
I understand that you’re a person with a life and adult responsibilities, but we need you Andrew. This is the news coverage the world needs. 🙏 *In all sincerity, thank you for creating these 🙏- this has brought much joy to me and my family. #BLESS
@@JP-ic2ze He tweeted she got a biscuit. And it landed well with me because of my American memories of ABC Wide World Sports _"The thrill of victory, and the _*_agony_*_ of defeat"_ [Which I'm sure is here somewhere on YT]
Fans across the world are screaming for a grudge rematch of these two titans. This series has no limits and I'm sure the bookies are drooling. The commercial opportunities could be the foundation of the economic recovery we all will need!
‘Her mind will be .. empty’ Poor Mabel lol. With no sports events, we’re missing your dulcet tones, so please do more of these. Olive & Mabel are adorable 😍
Olive got too cocky and complacent. Unusual to see with a dog of such experience who has seen and done it all before. But fair play to Mabel, the exuberance of youth and that never say die attitude got her the win in the end.
Yeah it makes me worried for Olive's future in the sport. Too often, we see veterans underestimate their opponents. They lose focus with the media attention and endorsements. Just last year, Chow Mix signed Olive for a three-year advertisement deal with several media appearances. That had to take away from her regular training schedule. It's hard to see Olive unravel this way. Great legend of the sport. Should retire while her reputation is intact.
These are seriously some of the funniest and best videos I have ever seen, laugh out loud good. Highlights the skill of a good sports commentator for sure and arguably the superiority of the UK variety and that's coming from a Yank. Thank you for this.
This is, without doubt, THE best commentary of all time (bar the dog bowl feeding time). Andrew Cotter, I salute you and your amazing dogs. God bless you. This and the dog feeding are my highlight of the unfortunate situation we're in. May the BBC or other broadcasters give you an alternative commentary programme. I've lost count of the times I've watched both videos of Mabel and Olive. I thought Shane Williams going over in injury time against your home team was good - nothing compared to this. Stay safe Mr. Cotter.
I have to watch every day. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to listen to the deadpan commentary of Mr. Andrew Cotter. Surely he is the greatest sports announcer living today.
When we dont have sports, but we are still blessed with the outstanding commentary from Andew Cotter @admcotter - making each day of solitary confinement that bit better...
Justice is done. Mable was robbed in game 1 after a questionable bowl placing incident. There was no way she's gonna lose that one given the technique she has which is undoubtedly way beyond her age. Kudos to Olive for giving it a tough fight, but Mable deserved it. The baton has been passed and the Sport of bones is truly in good paws now.
Andrew, on behalf of everyone, thank you for giving us the gift of seeing your beautiful fur-babies, and for putting much-needed joy and smiles in/on us during troubled times.
Love all the Olive and Mabel videos but this one must be my favourite. Hilarious and tragi-comic with sweet Olive's disappointed face at the end. Priceless. Thank you Mr Cotter.
He is such a wordsmith! Ability to control your emotions with the intensity of that Noble Scots accent, wether O&M or whichever sport he’s on! Brilliant, Cheers
No, she got overconfident and got sloppy. I had a lot of money bet on Olive. How the hell and I going to pay my mortgage now? What am I going to tell my wife? I’m totally screwed. Bad dog, Olive.
Please, please, please make more of these wonderful vids! Tears of laughter every time! 🤣 Thanks so much for lifting our spirits during this uncertain time......
Better than the news! I now have to watch this at least twice a day as a feel good fix. "Thoughts of what might have been." Excellent line. Gets me everytime.
Please make more: I am absolutely horrified to discover there are only three! I've seen each several times and shown my family (daughter didn't get it- in fact having been told to go away by her because I was laughing too loud she then came upstairs to see what was wrong because she thought I was crying: I was still laughing!), and my ribs ache. We have a lab puppy.... It's all so spot on.
Please keep these coming! Between being quarantined for Covid (I personally know 10 who have it), my husband's stage 4 cancer, beloved family members with mental health issues, tornadoes tearing through our area, I need all the laughs I can get.
Tina S. I’m two weeks late, but I just wanted to send you some love and a virtual squeeze of support. You have an unfairly heavy burden piled onto your shoulders it seems, but the fact that you still have your eyes and your heart open to a bit of laughter bodes well for you, sweetheart. Take care and stay safe. Suzanne
@@maisie72 Watching earlier on Twitter, my initial reaction was "Hey, Mark Renton has a new side hustle with his cute doggos" lol. I also thought it was another creative civilian, until I hovered over his twitter handle. "Oh..."
I want to thank you so much for The Company Meeting. I'm currently in hospital having broken my leg in multiple places after an accident in the park with my dog. That video just made me howl with laughter, almost to the point of it hurting to laugh. Thank you and big cuddles to Olive and Mabel. 🐕🐩🐶
I have watched this plus the other three Mabel and Olive videos so many times I can almost call the play by play word for word ! They are so funny and give one a break from all the troublesome news that fills the news!
Mr. Cotter, Olive and Mabel are truly blessed to call you "Dad". I found this by happenstance when searching at our local library for a good story about a black Labrador Retriever, (we adopted a puppy just a few months ago and love him to pieces!), and your book came up! I read the synopsis, and here I am! Truly wish you had more of these gems, but will certainly enjoy reading your book, as well as replaying these 2 as often as desired/needed. Bravo, Sir!
Thank you for making these. It’s given us genuine happiness to the point of tears. Your’ve done something great here for many people. May Karma smile upon you and your dogs.
OMG. I’m a huge (and new) fan, So glad a friend posted “The Walk of Shame” on Facebook, which was my introduction to this feed. I look forward to many new posts. BTW, I’m also a big fan of Scotland. So glad I was able to visit last September.
My mum loves/adores our Labrador and was flicking through the channels for content like this for a bit of fun and burst out laughing due to the fact she is called Mabel. Great content
