This is hands down one of Jake Chudnow's best songs, and it's my absolute favorite.

The warbling synth pulls my emotions around like I’m a little moon circling a gas giant

Saudade - an emotional state of melancholic or profoundly nostalgic longing for something or someone that one loves despite it not necessarily being real or they reciprocate it back. This word perfectly depicts the aura of this song. It is truly beautiful.

I spent a night listening to this back in 2017. I listened to it in the car on the way to school when morning came. Since the previous year, I had been planning to take my own life. Through the pain I felt, I found some sort of comfort in this music. That morning at school, an announcement was made to the students. That night, my friend Tyler, had taken his own life. The piece took on a new meaning for me. I cherish this work of art in his memory. Thank you.

It must be overwhelming to lie in bed at night and think of the number of people you've had a significant emotional impact on, myself included. Hundreds of thousands of individual people, and something you created yourself holds a special place in their mind, and will do until death. That's incredible.

Jake Chudnow is truly brilliant. Does he put these videos together himself? The subliminal imagery is fucking astonishing, these videos captivate my imagination at such a deep level, it’s practically spiritual. Every time I see a frame, I wonder “what is the message behind this? What did he mean by that? What is the greater message he’s trying to convey?”. Presumably, he did not film any of these clips himself. He’s just a wizard of mining the internet for beautiful, obscure footage, and assembling it into intriguing works of art. He’s a talent the world needs to see more from. I’m truly moved by his videos and music.

I can't express how much I miss 2012, 2013 and 2014. Vsauce is that rare RU-vidr I have an authentic, potent nostalgia for. This piece embodies that nostalgia. Those were the days man, those were the days...

I want this to be the last song I hear before dying. While listening it is so easy to remember and look back at everything you've accomplished, failed loved and hated. This song makes me honour the past and accept that nothing can change the past regardless of how much you previously wished you could change it. The song gives a sense of self consciousness along with a moment of reflection that feels peaceful yet sad upon having to accept the past as it is. I like it.

For some reason, this song reminds me of waking up in the morning super early. You know when you're half asleep, but you know you have to get ready for the day. Just sitting for a few minutes, thinking either about what you dreamed about last night, what you're planning to do for the day, or some other random topic you woke up inexplicably thinking about more than you usually do when you're fully awake.

This song speaks to me. The elegant simplicity brings everything into perspective... close your eyes and listen while trying to focus on the flashes happening through your eyelids; like a kaleidoscope of sorts and then the bass cones in moving you to an epiphany

I seriously just think this is the most well paced and utterly brilliant song I've heard in a while. Something's always building up and it stops at a perfect time of lull. I love it.

I find that this song has the amazing ability to enhance emotions. For example if you went into listening to this song when you are happy chances are that you'll leave listening to the song being more happy. however this also works in the opposite direction as in if you go in listening to the song when you are sad chances are that you left feeling more sad. My interpretation: "Olive" is a short for Olivia, the girl that is shown in the video, they (she and her husband/boyfriend from who's perspective we see the video) either broke up or she passed away or something else happened to her. As there is a couple depicted at those ruins 2:19. And later at 2:25 we see the man walk away alone (since she is no longer around) All the places are places they have been together and the colors are a symbol of their relationship. Once she leaves he keeps seeing her everywhere (depicted by her later appearances)
