Insane runs of cabling, a daisy chain power supply, everything screwed to a painted piece of plywood… it’s the antithesis of every Instagram pedalboard.
i hate getting calls from sweetwater nice of him to pickup. they called me once when i was like 13 cuz i gave them my info. they woke me up but i was a teenager and i didnt want to embarass myself so i pretended to be a working musicians. "oh you know man, just doing gigs where i can man"
It looks like there's some extension cables running throughout, so he's probably running anything that doesn't play nice in a daisy chain on its own power supply, kind of like a bootleg or cheaper version of a voodoo or mxr iso brick in that sense hahahah
If you wait for the playing demo, you can see a 1Spot in the upper left corner and another supply besides the tuner. But even is there's only one supply.........I ran my whole board (including a programmable digital switcher) on one daisychained 18 volts line. Works great, absolutly no noise at all!
@@thisguy2973 Usually the problem is ground loops caused by the daisy chain rather than the pedals being underpowered, but I guess some people don't experience that for one reason or another, and more power to them if that's the case bc onespots are helluva a lot cheaper than the isolated stuff hahahah
I never knew people didn’t until people started saying things about me doing it. From just the differences in venues to getting more out of them, I think it’s pretty necessary.
I met Oliver at the Soda Bar in San Diego when APTBS was playing, were starting chatting as we were both watching the Glove set. The dude is super cool, and I had to get pics of his pedal board. It's the same one in this video. I love that it looks like it survived a nuclear attack. BTW - if you have not seen APTBS live yet, you need to!
Seeing Place To Bury live a few years ago was absolutely punishing. Wall of harsh noise, strobe lights, and they beat the living shit out of their guitars.
The tuner likely functions as a mute. I think that apocalypse prototype has an octaver on it or something. This sound reminds me very much of Nine Inch Nails.
i wish ur pedals came with soft footswitch. its hard to adjust ur feet if u have two kind of footswitches pedals on ur pedalboard. its really hard. love ur pedal btw
1:58 Sweetwater is getting kinda ridiculous with the sales calls. He probably added one item to his cart a few hours earlier......or it was a cleverly placed inside job advertisement. 😵
In all honesty though the end result isn’t very impressive… I have had a couple of his pedals almost since DBA started and like them well enough but this just sounds like a dull, muddy wash where everything is lost. To each their own but I’d like for a little bit of the guitar to come through…. Going to buy a new Octave Clang this weekend for what it’s worth tho… so… ha!
@Tobias Chobotuck funny you say this at the exact time you did. I just had the time to experiment with it and boosted it with a Bad Monkey. I finally had time to mess with it and a ton of boosts. But the Bad Monkey won. Some serious Fuzz War Monkey Chugggg going on. Cranked through my Soldano SLO 100!
