Work is inevitable and there is nothing wrong with it. What is missing now is the context that gave it meaning. You were working for something and with people you were connected to. There was joy and fulfillment available in it. For you it is manifest as the lack of God. I would describe it as the humanity being sucked out of the world (agnostic). I don't think it really matters whether you are religious or not. Everyone is feeling it. All over the world it's the same. Btw, I have ever increasing respect for those of faith. They, more than others, have been able to hang on to their moral foundations.

The phrase Oh Lord, I want to go home... means "please God, take me now and bring me Home to you"
