@@Lessnayagaduka It’s rare, on TV, that we see a character discovering their queer identity later in life. And it wasn’t out of nowhere, there were a good number of hints throughout the show, even if Buck himself wasn’t consciously aware of what those moments really meant. Buck’s entire journey throughout the show has been trying to discover who he is, and this is just another part of him that he’s found and it’s a beautiful thing. And this is coming from someone who did cry the first time I saw Blackbeard kiss Stede Bonnet on the beach. Both of these shows are telling beautiful stories, they’re just telling DIFFERENT stories. I wouldn’t want them to be copies of each other because then what would make either of them special? But I’d absolutely recommend Lone Star because TK and Carlos are also a beautiful couple!
Oliver Stark is such a well spoken man and he really understands his character Buck which makes me appreciate his dedication to delivering the best storyline for him even more.
Nah he went along with the change to make leftists happy. Went from a dude that basically just dated woman for sex to now hes suddenly gay? lol. Okay. Cause thats how it works XD
For every person that says they aren't watching the show anymore, I think there's at least 5 more that have started watching it simply because of that storyline. Those people will not be missed in our little 9-1-1 corner. 😂
@@Jacob-ps5xl no one is saying it absolutely is canon, but there's some very clear signs and with buck being canonically bi, the odds have never been better.
My gay son abandoned the show a few seasons back when it was clear they were going to pull the usual lesbians OK, real gay love between the two main characters, no way card. He's come back. Bucky can be as bi- as he likes, that hot kiss was gay and that is a good thing. About time American TV moved past the anti-gay nonsense.
Yes I'm so glad to hear how serious he and the writers are about this. I dont like forcing actors into just any role, especially if it's not what they initially signed up for, nor do I like writers queer baiting just to bring in audience members.
I truly feel more and more of my soul being healed every time Oliver talks about buck's bisexuality, it's not often that something so monumental happens in tv and hearing Oliver be so outspoken in support of the character is so special. I've always related to Buck but especially now that they've confirmed him as bi I feel just that bit more represented on screen and I don't think there could have been anyone more perfect to help tell this story than Oliver
@@ethelryan257 Can you non Christians give these demonic agendas a rest? I have no hate for anyone. Just because I am a Christian doesn't mean I or others have to accept everything the world puts out
the way he said "oh someone told me about the moon and how it affects the tides" like BABE that was you!! buck literally says that word for word in the full moon ep 😭
You can do this a 10-hour interview and I wouldn't skip 1 second of it! I can listen to Oliver talk 24/7, sexy accent, level headed, kind, interesting, funny... Thank you for having Oliver in the show.
I can never listen to people talking without getting distracted for more than two minutes so i thought i would do something else and let this run in the background but I could NOT look away! i had my eyes on the screen the whole time Oliver Stark is a GORGEOUS man with amazing, captivating energy. i was HOOKED
Am I dreaming? The whole hour of an interview of Oliver Stark!?! 🤯 He is probably the one who loves and understands Buck the most. Thank you for taking such a good care of our Buckaroo and for telling the truthful story. You never know when someone will truly understand themselves. Some are lucky they find the answer so soon while some are not. I truely can relate to that. ❤ Love you, Oliver (as a fan, of course). 🤣
Oliver is so eloquent in his responses. His passion for his craft, the character and the story he’s telling is evident when he speaks. Very excited to see where Buck’s story goes on 911. A brilliantly in depth interview. Love how it touches on multiple aspects of not only 911 but also Oliver’s lifestyle and career. As always awesome questions. Thanks for sharing guys.
I only started watching 9-1-1 a week and a half ago (because I saw Oliver's response online to people who weren't happy about Buck being bisexual, and I was interested in this story about someone in their 30s coming to terms with their sexuality, which is something I don't think we see enough of). And now there's this hour-long interview with him and Zach and it's so great to hear him talk about that storyline, but also Buck as a whole, because I just love his character so much.
I LOVE the fact that Oliver describes being bisexual as being attracted to more than one gender instead of saying attracted to men and women. That's certainly how I describe my own bisexuality. Gender is a spectrum, and so is sexual orientation, and that openness and fluidity are beautiful. And I definitely look forward to bisexual Buck.
Outstanding interview. So laid back, professional and comfortable. Oliver, aside from being an outstanding and unique actor, is a true gentleman. Oliver was so at ease and seemed to genuinely enjoy the conversation. Cheers!
someone on facebook was complaining about the buck/tommy kiss and saying they wouldn't watch anymore. So I asked, 'so you're okay with lesbians?' she said 'No!' I asked why she's even watching if that's a problem, because... hello? People are hypocrites.
They were okay with the lesbian cause they could just tune her out and pretend she didn’t exist probably 😒 it’s not hypocrisy with these people. It’s idiocy, voluntary ignorance, and the refusal to gain any sort of media literacy.
With every interview I love Oliver Stark so much more. Buck is my favorite character and as someone who is bisexual and has been watching the show from the beginning this was amazing. Olivier cares and loves Buck more than anyone
He just speaks about everything in such a lovely respectful way. I love how he’s so well informed about everything he’s talking about and speaking about it with such passion and delight!Him being a cancer genuinely explains so much 😭
this was such a delightful conversation! thank you for inviting him over, I can't believe we got a full hour of him, I feel like it's my birthday or something. He's such a kind gentle soul, and obviously his love and care to buck and specially his bisexuality means the world to me as a fellow bisexual thank you for this!
I was shocked to learn he was English. He really perfected that American accent. Also I don’t think I can ever get tired of hearing him talk. He’s very well spoken person and very articulate. I did enjoy hearing his point of view on the character and the show!
buck was so unintentionally bi in season 2 like watching it the first time i thought he was gonna come out by the end of that season. imagine my surprise it took 7 freaking seasons lol Loooove Oliver
I could listen to him for hours. His voice. His accent. He's so calm and gentle ❤ there is nobody that could play Buck better than Oliver Stark. Such a loving person. I love this interview, thank you for inviting him. 🫶🏻 rooting for the future of Buck's storyline, i'm excited!
Oh I really enjoyed this. It's great when an actor is open and easy to talk to about things but also has great insight into his character and career/self. He should do more of these.
I think a lot of accents in London have elements of different cultures because of how diverse it is! I definitely hear it but to me he really does just sound like he was born and raised in London
I've literally been binge watching 911 because of this Buck storyline and I'll tell you, the horse dying was the first time the show made me properly cry
It is great to finally see the bisexual role being introduced into a series and Oliver Stark as an actor is the perfect fit. He is natural, humble and able to grow as the character grows. Excellent work Oliver.
Never watched 911, someone retweeted a clip of this onto my twitter feed so I thought lemme check it out and this guy seems so lovely, really enjoyed every minute of this interview and I wish him and his character all the best❤
He's just such a lovely person like I could listen to him all day and the way Oliver said there's gonna be more kisses with Tommy makes me so happy to know we have Tommy for at least a few episodes 🥰
On the accent thing as a brit I clocked him immediately as someone who speaks with a London accent but code switches slightly for USAmericans, when I'm in the US my accent is definitely 'weaker'
@@lunatic5162 I know, I lived in the US for 5 years too, that's why I clocked it so easily (moved back to the UK 8 years ago tho so my accent is pretty much back to normal)
I’ve been a fan of Oliver Stark’s character since the very first episode. He just connected with what I wanted to see on television somehow. And this guy is so well spoken that I thought I might watch part of this interview to watching in its entirety. And I like the way Zach allows his guest to talk without cutting them off in the middle of a story. Just letting the guest speak. That makes this channel special.
As someone who came out Bi to my friends and family when I was 31 Bucks story is relatable. I've always found Buck to be a relatable character in general, the buck we meet in S1E1 is basically facade put out to cover a deeply lost and lonely young man underneath and the story journey of him and Maddie has been the most compelling of the series. Interesting his thoughts on why he was killed off on Into the Badlands. Thing is if he hadn't been killed off and had signed on for the 3rd season he might never have landed the role of Buck. Sometimes you have to fail before you can succeed. I'm also vegan and I take the approach he takes its my choice and I won't preach or force it on anyone else.
Everything he said about how a man struggles with who he is, is exactly what I kept telling my friends when they aired that episode. I had a friend who struggled and now he living his best gay life.❤
@@solangelostan6016yeah honestly I used to be rooting for Eddie and buck but now I’m like eh I want them to stay friends. Im really excited to see where bucks relationship with Tommy goes tho🤭
How can you not love Oliver, as a proud Brit it's great to see him go from strength to strength as a person and as Buck. Can listen to him talk about anything for this hour and beyond
This was such an amazing interview!!! Thank you so much for it. I love hearing Oliver talk about Buck and the details behind everything. He loves Buck so much. I'm so glad he got this part! (would love to see those audition tapes)
It's so difficult to imagine someone saying about Oliver "You're handsome but not too handsome". He is the most handsome guy I've ever seen and there's not even any question but whatever I guess
Definitely all in for Evan embracing his bisexuality/queerness. The actor and the storyline make me more of a fan than I already was. I'd forgotten all about the Connie Britton's episodes. I loved The two of them together simply because it because it was Connie Britton!
I love everything about this interview and I absolutely adore Oliver Stark. As a bi woman I am over the moon that bi representation is being done right!
I'm a bisexual myself, and I knew from the moment I met Buck that he was Bi. I was waiting for him to realise it. There was a scene where Buck first saw Eddie and he had something else in his eyes other than jealousy, there are so many moments in the show that I can point out where it's so obvious. I was so happy when the kiss scene happened.
I love how much he cares and so dedicated to his craft. And the way he explains his craft as well, it’s a job and then has his personal life. That’s so admirable because I feel often we are conditioned to intertwine our work with our life, and being able to have a boundary between work and life is something I aim to have . And just his speaking is so beautiful and healing to hear ❤😊
I am just so happy that I can watch one hour of Oliver Stark talking about himself. I feel like, as his fan, I kinda have a chance to get to know him as a person also. Maybe someday we can meet and do collaboration lol
I love 9-1-1 and Lone Star series so much, so many amazing beautiful stories, and so many amazing, talented people working on it who made it all happen - thank you! Hope those shows will never end!
Came across this more or less by accident. My mom watches 911 and I have been catching it from time to time. Really enjoy Oliver’s character, Buck. Has no idea about the bisexuality piece. As a gay man, that caught me by surprise. I hope the show continues its success. Oliver… you’re fantastic. Love the accent, the birthmark, and just how you held yourself in this interview. Continue to be well.
Thanks so much for this brililant interview! For the record, though, his accent is a pretty standard MLE (Multicultural London English) accent, the South African influences you think you're hearing are actually a mix of African diaspora accents mixed with working class London.
Incredible interview. Awesome to hear him be so excited about what he does, and the questions are amazing as always. Will totally rewatch again, this is now a comfort video for me
I want to be wherever the producer is that said he isn’t too handsome😭 if they think oliver is mid they must be surrounded by gods, please deliver me to that place
suuuuch a great interview!! oliver seems like a really cool guy and i love the way that he speaks about buck's storyline this season. you can tell how much love and care he is putting into this and as a bisexual person that's everything i could hope for out of a bisexual arc!!
The fucking horse story 😭😭😭 that’s season 2 episode 7 “Haunted” if anyone wants to know. 9-1-1 does a really great job of making us care for the characters in the emergency in under 45 seconds. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve cried over someone on the show I’ve known less than a minute.
This man is just so respectful and interesting. I hope i can see more of him as an actor and person, truly an inspiration!!! Thank you Oliver for the hard work and thank you Zach for keeping up this interviews they are the best!
