Olivia had no vocal training until AFTER her enormous commercial success was over! The only voice lesson she ever had she instantly rejected because the teacher wanted to change her voice to resemble an opera singer. In other words, Olivia's pitch-perfect, crystal clear, authentic, most feminine vocals were self taught and she was confident enough in her amazing talent not to allow anyone to try and "improve" upon absolute perfection. There has never been anyone with her talent.
OMG. I have'nt heard this interview for many years. I recorded it on a cassette at the time & I even made a cover for it & named it OLIVIA IN COVERSATION. This would have been 1992 & I hadn't yet gotten to have the dream meeting with her in 1995. This was lovely to hear again. FYI it was the night after she sang 'Had To Be' with Cliff at the Royal Variety Show. I was young & fearless & I somehow got her to say yes to meet me at her hotel in London. It was just me & her & we had about 20 minutes together & she was so lovely to me & I have a beautiful photo of us to remember the night. I literally floated home that night. Thanks for posting.
What did you say to make her agree to meet you at her hotel?! I mean that seems wild, and amazingly lucky… would love to hear more, what a great conversation piece!
This would’ve been just about the days her whole life changed😢… but it was a great album with those beautiful new tracks and she was radiant and in top voice. 🌻🕊️
She actually did keep them but she probably just didn’t want to say so publicly then because costumes are technically studio prop… worked for the auction, though. 🫶🏻🕊️
Olivia auctioned off both pants and leather jacket, forgot date around '20 or '21. Raised tons of money ( ?) That went towards her ON - J cancer wellness center. They both sold. The person who won the jacket surprised Olivia with returning it back to her with a note he felt better giving back to you than keeping it to show off. Money still went to her cancer wellness center. 🕊️🌹😢R.I.P.
