The way I saw this tour a few months ago with Chappell as the support and it was CRICKETS and now her joining Olivia for one song is the Gen Z equivalent of Kylie Minogue and Madonna performing together.... truly insane.
Maybe it was a regional phenomenon? I saw Chappell at Guts in March in Dallas (one of the first stops) and I was actually shocked at how large and active the crowd was for Chappell Roan...I, personally, had never heard of her that point (and honestly, I didn't know much about Olivia at the time either being, the dad that took his daughters to the concert)...but apparently the Dallas crowd was all about her. It was one of the few times I saw the AAC at near max capacity for the opening act. That said, her music was fun, so I could see why she had a following...of course, now, she's almost a household name.
@@ralelunarOlivia’s influences are actually from 90s riot grrl bands, 90s singer songwriters like Fiona apple, and Alanis morrisette, and 90s grunge and pop rock, as well as 80s new wave, not 2000s at all😂 and Chappell’s music is very 80s synth pop, nothing 90s about her music
This is so cute. must be sooooo weird for Chappell :) She started as an opener that many people didn't know and now she's a total star. Olivia seems like a sweetie, a supportive and adorable younger sister.
apparently Chappell has gone on hiatus cause the sudden fame is very overwhelming for her, that and some stalker "fans" found out where her sister worked and her parents live. so yeah, must be a very surreal experience. i just hope ppl are able to calm down enough that they don't drive her away for good, she's such a genuinely inspiring and unique artist and i've honestly never seen anyone do pop music like her, so i'd hate to see her disappear as quickly as she showed up. just hope she's doing okay
@@moonlight_dulcet 1. she didn't say anything about a hiatus, just that fans need to treat her like a person 2. "disappear as quickly as she showed up" she didn't just appear?? she's been working on this for almost a decade
@@mischr13 ah i've seen ppl saying she went on hiatus lol, sorry if that was misinformation. also i know she didn't like,, just start making music or anything. she's been doing it for 10yrs if i remember correctly? what i meant is she got real famous in a very short amount of time, when before that she was more of an underground artist
for chappell’s case she used to feel like throwing up when she used to do those strenuous moves but last December she got a vocal coaching to help with it. Amazing stamina and core. ❤
Crazy how fast the vibe shifted around Chappell Roan. She opened for Olivia at the show I went to in February and nearly everyone stayed seated and on their phones.
Grew up in a trailer park. Queer and proud. My niece showed me her music a few months ago. Chappell reminds me of her. I am happy she is getting recognition and setting boundaries. Good for her
To think no one knew who she was when the tour started, and now on the same tour the whole crowd has her song memorized by heart. That shows so much talent
Born too late to explore earth, Born to early to explore space, Born just in time to watch chappel roan open for Olivia rodrigo at a concert I wouldn’t have it any other way
No shade, i dont know how to sing any of Olivia’s song. But Chappel? She’s pretty much everywhere now! If any of you wants to give any recommendations for Olivia’s songs of course I’ll try :)
I saw her open for Olivia less than a year ago and the way her popularity has skyrocketed since then is insane. Went from some people in each section singing her songs to an entire arena relentlessly cheering for her within the same tour 🤯
@@brianamlittI think what they are saying is that Sour was a full pop album that they loved and Guts is a pop rock album, which signifies that she will try and possibly switch genres. They might not be a fan of rock elements which makes Guts feel kinda less popy yk? I think that’s just what they mean bc while she is still doing pop music, it’s not fully pop, it has rock elements as well
@@Vwoclht7391egwn y'all say that to every famous female artist. where's the same energy with male artists who only knows to talk fast and make shit lyrics about drugs, sex, and alcohol?
the way chappell opened at the start of this tour right before she blew up and now it’s the end of the second to last leg of this tour and she’s back performing with olivia this time after gaining headline level crowds at festivals, it’s so full circle and beautiful to see her growth, i love them both 😭🫶🏽
Olivias stage present improved insanely within the past years. Chappel I don't know that long, but since I know her, she already seemed like a perforner through and through. But that performce right there is a thing on its own. Really well done
I saw Chappell open for Olivia in Charlotte. I had trouble hearing her super well but liked the music, so my friend and I bought tickets to go see her when she played Raleigh. And then she blew up... I'm really happy for both of them. This feels full circle honestly.
as novelty as this is - big respect for the level of professionalism happening here, making this look easy and fun - do you know how hard it is to run jump and sing like that. Fun to see and uplifting.
It’s crazy that at the start of guts tour not everyone was singing Chappell’s songs and now she came back as guest and everyone is so happy and excited to see her🥹🥹🥹
Olivia Rodrigo is such an icon for my Gen Z and millennial girls. Saving his particular son a rn performance cuz my youngest who just went to college is 18, looks up the Chappell Roan, introduced me to Hot to go. I just miss her so this song, will always bring her to me in spirit. Thanks ladies for being so essential and present and real for our young people! And my girls went to the Olivia San Francisco show recently, she was amazing
The chills I got of the arena screaming for Chappell in excitement knowing it’s her before Olivia even said her name , she deserves all of this so much 🥹🩷 this looks like pure fun omggg
I hope all of Olivia's friends, openers, and guests get the same recognition because they all deserve it, including Tate McRae, Conan Gray, Kid Laroi, Remi Wolf, Pink Pantheress (get well soon), Mr. Tyler Childers, Ms. Jewel, the legendary Breeders, and many other talented artists coming up. She has a great sense of talent and artistry. All the artists she brings on stage become trending topics, and some songs she covers receive a significant boost in streams, like Noah Kahan’s entry into the Top 10 a year after it was released and her cover entering the rock chart 🤯, as well as Bathwater's 450% increase during Coachella. Like, Miss girl, give me that kind of power!
