Really they are in the edge of being a major disruptive force on the grid. Ollie could win a championship and HAAS is foolish if they don’t give it to him.
The biggest problem is who they pair with him. Ocon definitely shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the kid. K-Mag doesn’t want to teach a rookie, but I’d rather keep him around for the last year of the current regs for continuity’s sake. Bottas would be an excellent option, but who knows what or where he will end up.
Glad to see him get a chance to prove himself. There’s not a lot of seats available these days so good on Haas for offering him the chance. The rest is up to him now.
@@b29ak2007 he is that way in real life. It just an act for interviews. At our Montreal hotel this year for F1, they sat him next to my wife and I at breakfast and the waitress had no idea who he was, saw a 19 year old alone and was very slow in serving him and he said nothing for a very long time. It was clear to us that he was quite hungry and could wait sit there forever because he had to get to the track. So my wife and I spoke with the waitress and sped up his service. I am sure next year as an F1 driver he will have an entourage but you do not get that as a reserve driver.

@Jizza182 you don't know that yet, he might stay, he has improved, he doesn't crash so frequently now, and also scored his first point last year in Austin, 4 rounds before the season finale, you never know, also Williams have said that they spent way too much time and money to him they want to wait.
About time to extend KMags contract. As of now, he is the biggest asset the team has remaining and considering his efforts and commitment, is responsible for about half the teams points.
Magnussen has scored 7 points over the past 2 years, Hulkenberg 31 in a year and a half. He lost 28-14 to Hulkenbreg '12-3 this season' in qualifying and 21-13 '11-3 this season' in the races so far. When you take into account Hulkenberg's 3 years on the sideline, plus the fact Magnussenmakes stupid contacts, extending his contract seems unlikely.

This was a no brainer. Been waiting for him to get this. Hope HAAS will put money into a better car for him, only the top 2 teams are solid, everything else is open.
