Olympian Oscar Pistorius released on parole 11 years after killing girlfriend 

You can’t know that he knew what he was doing. She was playing mind games with him and making him jealous of an ex. He obviously shot at her but I don’t think he wanted her dead; he got into an uncontrollable rage and once he snapped out of it and realised what he had done, I think he was devastated. This was a tragedy all round. He too lost his life that night.

@@joem.246 I watched every second of the trial. He had a temper he couldn’t control, an infatuation with guns and plenty of baggage - not least all the bullshit that goes with celebrity and being a sporting God. He was turned into an entitled spoiled brat who was accustomed to behaving badly and getting away with it. Like I said, the mist came down and he committed the unforgivable.

@@hansiesma16 Errrr no, you are wrong. Reeva woke up and found Pistorius texting his ex in bed next to her. They argued, she went to the bathroom with her phone, locked herself in. He followed her and shot through the bathroom door. Love the way you try to blame her for her own murder though by “making him jealous”

@@richardduplessis1090nice argument there, always have to bring race into it, don’t you? At the end of the day, 9 years isn’t enough. But MONEY talks in SA. The best layers saved him at least a decade with the conviction and sentencing.

@@sighfly2928 It is usual in SA for even people charged with murder to be released on bail of about R100. Most of those are non white. Also, many such killers only serve a couple of years, so I think it's a worthwile comparison to show that this guy is being dealt with very differently. He also happens to be white and wealthy. It's very difficult in a place like SA not to be conscious of racial disparities for obvious reasons unrelated to racism but related to justice.
