This was the saddest thing I've seen in a long time. I'm mortified that anyone allowed this match to take place.

That poor woman trained her whole life to be the best woman in boxing just for a man to beat it out of her.I can't imagine what's this gonna do to her Psyche.She did not fail anybody, it was mankind and the Olympics that failed her.This is so sad.

The optics of a man hitting a woman are extremely disturbing to say the least. Just look at the smirking Imane Khelif so proud of himself .

As an athlete and an Italian, I am sorry for what is allowed by the Olympic Committee. The Italian athlete was in tears for her father who passed away during the last Olympics and wanted to honor his memory by getting into the ring even though she was disadvantaged by this infamous sporting regulation. 😔

You have to know that the ceremony of which everybody is talking about across the entire globe was under the guidance of our President Emmanuel Macron and his son called Brigitte (named Jean-Michel as a man) via a guy named Thomas Joly, a mega gay Lgbtq±+++!!! An algerian man can compete as a woman in a boxing match in the country where the first lady is a man. You need to make a correction fast: The Algerian boxer has XY chromosomes. He was tested for it, was given a chance ro retest, and gave up on it. He has underdeveloped male genitalia, though it doesn't seem that way from pictures of this match against Angela So, yes: he was NOT born a woman. High testosterone levels alone does NOT produce a male body like that. And, as we all know, no hormones change sex chromosomes from XY type to XX type. Furthermore, intersex individuals comprise less than 0.023% of the population. And this boxer is not an intersex individual. Political correctness led us here. Call things by their name, please.

As a woman who’s been arguing on Twitter and other platforms on behalf of Imane’s unfair advantage, you would not believe the backlash I’ve gotten from other women and transgender ideologues who want to ignore that having the biological advantages of a man should disqualify you from competing in women’s sports. They’re also saying there’s “no proof” that Imane has DSD and elevated testosterone, even with the DNA tests that have been conducted and the fact that Algeria’s own government announced it. I want to distance myself from this story because it’s exhausting to argue for rational thinking, but I honestly haven’t been this angry in a long time.

The IOC is insane to allow a man to box a woman . Safety is not the primary concern of the IOC.

Intersex athletes need to compete in the Men’s division, but be permitted some degree of TRT that helps level the playing field. A neutral third party doctor must administer therapies beginning 6 months prior to competition. This is not difficult.

Biology is incredibly complex, sex is also incredibly complex and the entire idea of having a medical sex was invented in the late 1800s in france and england to allow doctors to deal with "hermaphroditism" in a more streamlined manner. There are probably upwards of 20 ways to define sex in biology: gonadal, chromosomal, endocrinological sex, phenotypic sex, etc etc. Sex is a spectrum, a bi-modal distribution of traits, upon which biologists draw useful boxes labelled male and female because they capture a significant portion of the population. Some men will be more feminine than others, some women more masculine, they will fall outside or on the fringe of those boxes. As we say in statistics, all models are broken but some are useful. Yes, Swyer syndrome is a relatively rare genetic condition, but chromosomes tell so little of the story of sex. The Y Chromosome is basically useless after the fetal stage, as its primary function is to form testes. Did you know that you can have chimerism or mosaicism where your skin or organs have differing chromosomes from each other? Or that a bone marrow transplant can change your sex chromosomes? This is largely irrelevant however as, like I said, the Y chromosome is irrelevant after birth. Hormones actually play the largest part in sex determination and you can be XX, no active SRY gene and have a total insensitivity to estrogen and develop perfectly male. Stop pretending to use science and biology as arguments when you've never even read the science or biology surrounding sex. Whether its fair or not is fine to debate, but stop besmirching the work biologists do by reducing it to the contents of a 1970s High School biology class.

You can be intersex and have a Y chromosome but only go through female puberty! On rare occasions they can be intersex assigned male [or vice versa] at birth but are not 100% certain which secondary characteristic will develop at puberty. That said any athlete having an abnormality that will compromise safety of a biological women in sport should be put into a separate open category. Each case should be assessed individually but initially excluded from female competitions until assessed by international independent non affirming doctors of the highest standard and integrity, whom decide which category is biologically appropriate, simple. IMO that intersex boxer is more man than woman but s/he need to summit to tests with open results.

Is it a human right to compete in sports at a professional level? There are restrictions to becoming an airline pilot, surgeon or joining the army if you have certain medical conditions you are born with. Life is filled with many discriminations, it's not necessarily a bad thing

Please put it in plain language, an XY chromosome is the DNA make-up of a biological male, therefore a deformity of his genitalia does not make Iman a woman. Intersex persons are biologically either male or female, something which the physical development and features of a person confirms at puberty; therefore Imane must compete against other men or alternatively seek the required medical intervention to align his hormonal levels to his preferred sex. If not, then he should refrain from sports all together, seeing that it is not uncommon for persons with certain abnormalities to forfeit participation in certain activities. More so, seeing that hormone treatment would not even alter his larger male lungs, heart, muscle mass and bone length and density.☝ And yes his participation in sports is motivated by the unfair advantage after all Caster Semenya became a millionaire through the same kind of glaring cheating,🙄
