I am now a huge Aimee fan. You all work so well together. I think many fans were nervous when you switched coaches, but it was obviously for the better. Great athlete coach chemistry!
Just started lifting again after over a decade off! I finally have that lovely sore feeling after working out that i have missed so much, and didn't realize it till i felt it when i woke up this morning :) As a big fat fuck, i have a long way too go, but i am finally in the right mind set to get things done and enjoy watching lifting videos and came across your Ice Bath Q&A and checked your channel and found this video. WOW!!! Sooooooo inspiring! The enthusiasm is just infectious and is just what i need! Makes me want to tain again today, but im gonna be smart and rest and take it slow at first so i don't hurt myself. Thank you for being you and in turn inspiring me :)

I like the fact that is perfectly clear to see your Gymnastics background when you are in competition...You have a gracious way when you're sitting, walking, approaching the bar and even in the lift itself. (P.S: I never noticed that Aimee have two lions in her left arm. Which makes total sense because she have the fierceness and strength of two lions.... She is also a bit scary😨 )

I want to know something. What kind of mental preparation do you do before competition? Any visualization/affirmations/routines that help get you confident before a meet? Oddly enough, I have read that Mike Tyson used to be 'hypnotized' before his fights. Seems like it paid off haha
She over pulled her first 2snatches, (was lucky to recover) the coach should have picked up on that and had her correct. She would have gotten her third lift if the coach had told her to pull straighter and not swing so much. I see this as a coaching error.
Warmups at 1:20 : I know that's easy weight, but isn't that dangerous to have that (loaded) barbell on the floor behind? Anyways thanks for the vid. Can't wait to get into Olympic lifting---looks like fun!
She adjusted because of her fellow US weightlifter in her old category, which currently is the world record holder and world champion where she is the silver medalist, and unfortunately her compatriot has more robi points to qualify for the olympics so she is left with no choice to either change her weight class or no olympics. I don’t know why only 1 representative per country can go but yeah it’s the rules... hope this helps (:
emmaraekidd she is changing Mattie’s attempts. For example, if her warm ups looked really good, and she was set to open at 100kg, Aimee might change it to 102kg, and so on. Same for later attempts. If 102 as an opener looked bad, Aimee might change her second attempt to 103 instead of 104, etc etc
Willy Wonka it’s a matter of comfort from what an oly weightlifting coach told me. They would have lifters go belt-less and others go when they’re 80% of their max
