Amazing, congratulations and commiserations to those whose dreams didn’t come true. The team richly deserve their celebration, I would love to see all the gymnasts who competed be honoured on that stage too. What a spectacular and dramatic event!
I’m so pleased the 2020 Olympians are back and Hezly earned that 5th spot. Gutted for Leanne because I’m such a fan but I am honestly heartbroken for Skye and Kayla but mostly Shilese. She was basically a complete lock for the second spot and it must be so hard processing something like this that is outside of your control.
Especially given that she was also injured in 2021 and didn’t have an opportunity to make it then either. I unfortunately suspect her body isn’t going to let her get to 2028. Same with Skye and Kayla- Achilles injuries are very serious.
My heart goes out to every single athlete involved in every step of this process. They are all world-class gymnasts! A special shoutout to Shilese Jones, who was a lock for the second AA spot, Skye Blakley, whose last few performances also had her locked for the team, and Kayla DiCello, who had an amazing shot at that fifth spot. I hope they will recover and continue in the sport 🙏🏼💕💖 And shoutout to the team! The undercurrent here is resilience- Simone coming back to the top of the sport from a very public setback, Suni coming back from kidney disease, Jordan and Jade coming back from disappointing seasons. And little Hezly is a delight! She has demonstrated her consistency, and her ability to rise up to the occasion. And when asked how she did it, she immediately said “God- and all of my family, coaches, and friends”. Humble and hardworking. This is a beautifully diverse team, made up of strong, resilient, joyful women. That’s what we want to see in gymnastics!!!
Congrats to these fabulous ladies. We feel sad for Kayla DiCiello, Skye Blakely and Shirlise Jones. To be injured at the Trials is soo heartbreaking. But we are glad for Suni after family drama and her illness. But we are mostly glad for Hezley Rivera for making her 1st Olympic team. She had such a fantastic growth in her career. Hope they all do well in Paris.
my predictions: team: usa, china, brazil aa: simone, rebeca, suni vt: simone, rebeca, jade ub: qqy, nemour, suni bb: zhou yakin, qqy, suni fx: simone, rebeca, jade qqy and nemour are very close, but i think if both hit qqy have better execution, simone maybe a bb medal since she’s mostly consistent compared to the others, and on fx jade maybe have a chance for silver if rebeca goes oob or have big steps.
I agree with you a lot. I only have doubts about the team's 3rd place, between Brazil and France. I think it will be in the tenths. UB: between QQY and Nemour, whoever makes the least mistakes takes the gold. Beam: it depends on everyone doing well in the final kkk if everyone gets it right, Biles will get the bronze. UB and Beam will have the best disputes.
If Suni hits in quals, she'll probably advance over Jordan, but anything can happen in the Olympics. China would have to hit 100% to get silver, but they're known for falling apart when it counted most. I was devastated for the Tokyo team, especially for Zhang Jin and Lu Yufei
Agree with almost everything you've said but will point out that so far Jade hasn't been able to outscore Jordan on Floor so she could be 2PCd out of the floor finals.
The trials are the most tense, tough and stressful competition for a gymnast. They risk their career in 2 days. The Olympic Games are different because there are strong and weak rivals. But in the US they are all very good and qualifying for Paris is a real success.
Can someone tell me if this is the first time they knew they will go to Paris? Or is this the presentation, and they already knew? I'm from Europe, so limited information and videos available :(
Others simply outperformed her unfortunately. She has been less than consistent over the course of time, so I’m honestly not surprised- saddened, but not surprised.
@@andrejadimitrijevic5599 undoubtedly. She will have a lot of experience around her to guide her though- which will be beneficial. Jordan, Suni, Jade and Simone have all been there and done that, so she’ll have a good support system. Hopefully she stays healthy- otherwise Leanne will end up being there. Either will compliment the team.
Falta Shilese Jones.
You're wrong about Jade, actually. She's going to upgrade her last pass and be at her 2021 Tokyo difficulty. And she's doing the same 2 vaults she did before- Cheng and amanar. How do you consider that less difficulty? Lol
