When I used mine for recording videos, it made a clicking noise like a mini machine gun. Maybe it was a setting or lens issue, but video quality was good. Pictures were great. Menu was easy to figure out. The micro lenses still seem pricey, at least the fast aperture ones. Personally, I prefer the older generation dslr cameras. The E5 was the only body to allow video recording, and only 720p, but that's hands down my all time favorite camera. For vlogging, I considered getting an Olympus pen camera again, but I think the Samsung MV800-900F series cameras from back in the day are super portable.
The noise must have been awesome 😎 maybe it was a special feature, plus 10 to retro vibes. Old dslr's are great. I'm playing with Nikon d5200 and I love it
This exact camera and lens is my every day carry. It is a very simple camera but it still allows for lots of photographic creativity. It really works for me. I am the original owner. I bought it 12 years ago. I also have an e-pl3, e-pl6 (with another one comming...) and an e-m10! I will retire my e-pm1 soon and use my new e-pl6 as my every day carry. I want to shoot with a sensor that has more resolution. Thanks for the video.
Me too. We are same. I have other Olympus bodies but this one is for small and simple. For my little walk about camera -> I don’t need a lot of dials and buttons. I never make adjustments when I’m out walking my doggie. 💁🏻♀️ 💕
Each time when I was getting a camera with that leant it came not functioning so I gave up the idea of trying it. Thanks for the suggestion with brightness level - seems so obvious but it didn't even cross my mind 🤦🏼♀️

I assigned (mapped) my record button to be the “2x digital zoom.” This changes your zoom range from 12-32mm -> 24-64mm Handy in a pinch. Just a fun thing. 🤷🏻♀️
I bought this camera for cheap, in order to pair it with the 12-32. But these two items were not good friends - blurry pictures. Works very well with the 20mm pancake. It sat in the car's glove box for a while, for shooting gas stations at night ! I was missing an EVF so I eventually replaced it by a lovely underated Lumix G5 !
Oh really? I mean I'm sorry to hear that this combi with 12-32 did not work for you, it works great for me, maybe the lens was faulty. I liked the images from 20, I didn't like how loud and slow it was, but I sometimes miss this lens. Gas stations at night sounds good 👍🏽👍🏽
