haha. This is funny because today for lunch I went to a Ketovore luncheon and was served monk fish, king prawns, cuttle fish and calamari for entrée and then rare beef roast for mains course. And it was cooked in Ghee and coconut oil. That was my OMAD. And to boot I was given a 2 litre bottle of home made fermented ACV which took 9 months to make. I can't wait to try it before bed tonight. Oh, and the best part was the Carnivore Aioli made with bone marrow. That blew my mind. 100% Carnivore plus natural garlic. :-) :- )

Do you try to get corn- and soy-free eggs or do you not worry about that? Also, how well do you and Danny handle dairy, both raw and pasteurized?

how does one get enough protein in omad? more than 30-40 grams at a time is wasted

Ideally OMAD is not necessary long term, but sometimes you do what you gotta do.

You didnt add any extra fat to this meal to balance the protein to fat ratio? I saw you cooked in butter, but that wouldn't be enough fat, nor the fat in the egg or mince.
@ancestralhealing
@ancestralhealing Год назад
No, my ground beef is high in fat! If it was on the leaner side I would add crispy beef fat bites, but no need as it’s high fat.

@@ancestralhealing All good, I dont mean to criticize, Im just finding out about carnivore (3 weeks in) and all people Ive heard so far (alot) advise 50/50 protein to fat ratio, since fat is the new energy source it needs to be quite high, higher than some might be comfortable with. The fattiest (and therefore cheapest) ground beef you can get here in New Zealand is 82% protein and 18% fat, so I have to add more fat even to this fattiest of ground beef to meet the rough ratio of fat to protein. Im open to new information though, do you not feel this ratio is correct? Is that just personal preference or based on some health knowledge?

You can get your butcher to make up mince with 20-30% fat if you want. I'd add beef liver and heart to the mix too. A kg of each.

You don't need a fat to protein to fat ratio that was to treat epilepsy. Just go for protien the fat will come naturally
@HeartFeltGesture
@HeartFeltGesture Год назад
@@stevehughes275 That doesnt sound right, type in fat to protein ratio carnivore to google, top answer is 1.5 times fat to protein, no mention of epilepsy. Plus all the carnivore influencers and nutritionists say the same, between 1 - 1.5 times fat to protein.

It's very difficult to get all the nutrition you need in only one meal a day. Also fasting stresses your body and pumps stress hormones in your body. Yes, at first it feels good, due to adrenaline rush, but after while adrenal fatigue and cortisal will mess you up. OMAD should be used as a therapy, not a life style. Fasting puts you in fight or flight mode (hunting mode), this is why you feel more alert, keep it up and you end up with hormonal inbalance, insomnia, hair loss, low libido, low testostrone. .........etc

agree 100% ! Very important things you just said.

@adelarsen9776 Год назад
Hello Desmo. I don't agree. a) When you eat nutrient dense food like steak, eggs, bacon, liver and fat you get all the nutrients you need. If not then add pink salt or some Cod liver oil. b) Inducing fasting creates Autophagy and Ketones and they clean out your system giving you a new start. It balances and resets your body. c) I've never heard of adrenal burn out with Ketosis and Autophagy. What I have heard of is organ reconstruction, pathogen removal and recycling of cells. d) OMAD is how the genetics of the human population has been for over 2 million years. Our ancestors didn't make a kill every 4 hours. They fasted (went without) and hence over 6 million years we genetically adapted to fasting (going without). It's what our bodies are designed to do. e) It's just not true that fasting causes hormonal imbalance - Quite the opposite in fact. Autophagy and Ketones balance every thing and every system in the body. f) Fasting does not cause hair loss, low libido and low testosterone - That's just plainly wrong. I draw your attention to the work of Dr Pradip Jamnadas, Dr Jason Fung for up to date info on fasting. What you wrote is a repeat of what Main Stream doctors spew out and it's just not right. It is my experience and those of many people in the OMAD IF community that fasting is calming, relaxing and makes you healthy and stronger.
