That was awesome. I’m glad the areas have been preserved so the world won’t forget what happened. In America, historic and important battlegrounds, monuments and statues are being torn down everyday by people who don’t appreciate or care about history...... it’s sad. Thanks for sharing your adventures!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
These things are happening here as well, people are mostly misinformed or don't understand it. If your not agree with it,we live in a whole different time ,education is the key,and instead of tearing them down, use them to remember. If their aren't statues ,monuments or sites, then you can't show it to the people as well. In my opinion it is something that works both ways. Wiping history would be the biggest mistake,I have a couple of video's coming up,one is a perfect example of what I mean. I'm glad you join me my friend. Never forget is a understatement here, this was truly a brave generation
Great share brother and thanks for being us along! Much respect and love from our family to yours from across the pond, take care out there. God bless 🙏🏻🇺🇸
Thank you very much for your kind words, We must never forget and pas it on to the next generation. God bless you and your loved ones, your friend Steve
Even in our wildest imagination it wouldn't be close what these guys went trough. The impact of the craters even after all these years, are still impressive. Its something you can't be prepared for.
There was a mark of Texas in one of the bunkers, but you could only see it when you were in it, unfortunately 1 or 2 years ago they put fences around the bunkers and you couldn't get in anymore
So much history here. I was thinking during the opening shot of all those that were storming onto that beach not really that long ago. I liked the angle you shot it at. So amazing, and yet heartbreakingly sad at the sametime. Steve, Thank You so much for sharing this history with us.
One of the biggest events in history in my opinion, the water that rolled in was red back then. Helmets are still washing ashore these days. The impact of the craters and holes are impressive even today. Unbelievable what happened here. Toughest generation in my opinion
Groetjes Steve
The determination, savagery ,grit, brilliance and the sadness. it tuck !!! If any one gets a chance to visit Perl harbor in Hawaii do it. Great video Steave a will admit it brought a tear to my eye.
Not only you my friend,I had this on my list for a long time, read a lot,and saw a lot of documentaries about it. But when your standing on the same beach, visiting those places,it really makes you very humble. A big lump in my throat while paying my respects to the fallen heroes. Freedom isn't free. If I ever get the chance to visit pearl harbor,I definitely visit it.
Freedom isn’t free !!!!!!! My country right now there’s a lot of spoiled people who I have no idea the price that has been paid for them to act the way they do
@@lastglance8782 I feel your pain,I took my daughter to teach her about her freedom. Letting het write in the Memorial book that lays at the cemetery. In a previous video we visited the commonwealth cemetery, her first war cemetery A-Rod. The week we visited Normandy let a deep impression to never take freedom for granted.
Very interesting Steve, as usuall the fine weather follows you about. A lot to see there in a day. So much Effort poured into attack and defense there.hopefully never again.peace.
To be fair, luckily the rain only fell in the evening, we had cloudy days but dry, and the most important moments the sun came behind the clouds. There are stories of bunkers popping up from the ground of the bombing and the Germans inside were unharmed, unbelievable when you see the craters. Atb Steve P.S. i'm working on your Tag
Not many made it all the way to come home 1 in 1000 made it all the way through sea like alot but really wasent alot couldn't take it and committed suicide 😭
@@tomritter493 they all must have scares physical but mainly mentally. The ones who came back ,battling with it for the rest of their lives . Unfortunately some died back home of suicide in the following years, but they really died on the battlefield
The guns at Longues sur mer were a great preservation. We stopped there on our visit. Did you stop at the Canadian war museum that is staffed by young Canadian students. The owner wants the young students to know the history of the D DAY landing and the war. We visited quite a few war museums. Great video and editing Steve.
I really wanted to have more time in Normandy, unfortunately I didn't get there. The problem was that not everything was available because of the covid, and there was also a national holiday during that period. planned as much as possible, and the days were frankly too short yet there is a lot to see and visit, i had so many impressions that i didn't want to rush things and really let it soak in sort of speak. Personally i think it's a great idea what they do, making the young students work there, it's a good way to remember it and make them part of their (your) history. I paid my respects to the Canadians at the Commonwealth Cemetery. They really keep the cemetery crispy clean, as if it should be out of respect for them. i would like to visit it more ,then i will go to the canadian war museum. Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. Stay safe my friend
Mooi gefilmd weer Steve!
