It's just mind-blowing that Omar's first acting job is Young Royals, he's so incredibly good! In season 2 he kept portraying so many conflicting emotions just with his eyes. And he is somehow able to sing emotions in a way that gives me goosebumps.
_Not really._ At lest 90% of his "acting" is really just being himself (that most of us would love to know in person). The other 'acting 10%' is just adding a great story to his already fine personality.
@@penboyasgod6103stop lying Omar is freakn amazing on the show. Who tf are you tryna fool lmao? Omar is nothing like Simon and the fact that you said this shows how natural and real his acting is when there's no similarity between him and Simon
@@peptobismol8968 You just showed your pure ignorance about acting/actors and how they become so popular. *EVERY actor presents him-/her-self within the character they portray.*
@@penboyasgod6103Aww you just m4d you couldn't push the "greatest actor of this generation" narrative with your white boy cause Omar the first time actor went toe to toe with him like that dude himself said 😂 stay pressed ❤️
I think one of the most beautiful things he said is that he feels "safe" with Edvin. That's such an important factor in any relationship...romantic or not!
i listed to the full podcast (which i'd recommend everyone does) and it was interesting that omar was talking about males showing emotion and mental health.. ie perceptions about males being able to cry. he said in the podcast (which isnt included in the video) that it's a strange concept to him that people cant share their emotions and he finds that it's important if you are sharing emotions or crying that you're around people who are supportive of you and make you feel "safe." when he went on to talk about the intimate scenes in young royals with edvin, he then said he feels safe with him (which you know from this video) and i think that's a testament to their great friendship off-screen and how they're able to portray their characters with such chemistry. he talked about their friendship growing so much in season 2 from season 1 and it's a very important message for people who struggle with mental health, especially young men.
Omar is SO talented. His portrayal of Simon is beautiful and so authentic 💜. I loved that he said “I have more self-love” because of Young Royals. I think the show is doing just that for a lot of people all over the world. Luv him. Looking forward to following his music and acting career!! 💜 Awesome Interview.
I loved when he said that too - it's so special when you find something or have an experience which teaches you to embrace yourself! Hope you enjoy the full podcast episode - will be live from 6AM UK time tomorrow!
I cant tell if its a swedish thing or an edvin and omar thing, but it is sooo refreshing to hear such down to earth and unpretentious conversation, and in such a comfortable light hearted way about the whole acting and becoming a superstar thing.. It seems so normal to talk like this amongst my creative friends, but so rare to ever see it amongst famous people.. For example its so nice to hear Omars understanding and natural empathy about how he would feel the same as the fans if he saw it 10 years ago.. And I think thats super cute, to take himself out of the picture and just understand what the bigger relevance is for people and how meaningful the story is in their hearts. Its also super refreshing to hear that process of building personal growth and self acceptance through the activity of acting and filming a character, and I can imagine its one of the blessings of being on a set like that one, with director and crew and safe intimacy coordinator and prioritising trust, and telling such a beautifully written story as that one is.. Celebrating everyone's natural imperfections, and truely showing the human beauty in its entireity, not just focusing in on small "flaws".. I mean this about the characters' personalities and awkward clumsy teenage discoveries as well as what it must be like embodying acting it. I can imagine the pressure he must have been under for years as a teenage touring musician and model.. and how comforting it must be now to be in a different role where the "imperfections" are actually the greatest strength, hes obviously a total babe, but it is the uniqueness of everyone that is what makes it absolutely phenominal acting which is sensative and approachable and relatable. Its so interesting! I think after 10 years of social media, the world is thirsty for this kind of raw realism. Im so thankful. Cant wait to hear the rest of the podcast, thanks again for the wonderfully relaxed and conversational interview. I love young royals, its touched me for so many separate reasons, and so I really appreciate the conversations and talks about it all. Bless
And get ready for the full 28 minute long podcast episode with Omar which will be dropping at 6AM tomorrow (Thursday). Click here to subscribe wherever you get your podcasts from: hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 so you don't miss it! Hope you love it! x
Omar notes that teens rightly freak out when they see themselves represented in the show, but I’m 55, and I freaked out, as I was a Simon in 1985 and lots of pain appeared unprocessed. The show helped me process the inequality I’ve been feeling. I bet there’s many more of me. The fanbase is much broader than teens. Thanks to the whole cast and team for this wonderful story and thanks to Omar and Edvin for sharing their chemistry and energy with the world. And thank you Josh for having these wonderful conversations with them.
Yes!! I'm 30! Haha I've passed my teen era but still freaking out over YoungRoyals portrait of love and relationships and different difficult situations and healthy or unhealthy ways to deal with them in life. Amd just the amazing way they show intimacy with touch and looks and smiles. Omg loveeee
I am 40 and I loved the show. When i was a teen a didnt unsterstand how importat is that you love yourself. But now i know. I love teens show- maybe beauce reminds me of when I was a teenager myself. I love Omar-his is so simle an smile. And i love his song and acting.
Absolutely! 42 and a big fan of the show which makes me reflect on my teenage years when I was restricted, stunted and had to hide my authentic self. And having recently questioned my gender identity thx to Heartstopper I basically re-live my teenage years through these shows.
After talking to them, I couldn't agree more! Hope you love the full interview with Omar which will be on the podcast, and will be live tomorrow morning from 6AM UK time!
@@reignwithjoshsmith I listened to all of it, you're such a great interviewer! I'm so happy that his English - his 3rd language - is getting better so that more people understand what an amazing person he is.
These two actors are absolutely adorable -- in every possible way. They both seem equally nice and kind. Must have been a thrill getting to chat with them.
It was such a thrill and so interesting too! Hope you enjoy the full podcast episode with Omar too, it will be live from 6AM UK time tomorrow! Let me know what you think!
@@reignwithjoshsmith I look forward to watch tomorrow's podcast. He is such a special human being, so perfectly casted for the role of Simon. Being from Venezuela makes me feel very proud of his success in such a far away place as Sweden. Watching Young Royals and getting to enjoy this series so much , I found my self turning into what I believe makes me for sure, the oldest fan of Omar and Edvin and their wonderful performances. A real gem to be sure, that took me by surprise at 78.5 years of age, when I thought I had seen almost everything.
It's strangely comforting to hear that such conventionally attractive people as Omar can also feel self-conscious about their bodies. Makes you think "well, maybe I also look OK, but just don't know that I do" lol We all need more self-acceptance.
"okay, are we gonna eat some gums, so we don't like throw up?" lmaooo i'm loving this part way to much asjfknsa anyways he is 100% right. once you learn to address things like this, life becomes way more liveable haha
Omar really is the sweetest. He's such a talented human being, and it's truly heartwarming to know that the show has helped him being more confident and finding self love, especially after all he's been through when he was younger. He deserves to feel good about himself and feel loved. I still can't believe it was his first time acting, he's a natural!
Those 7 minutes went by much too fast! Josh, you seem to have a talent for making your interview partner feeling very comfortable. Because there are not many interviews out there with Omar talking in English without Edvin by his side and seeming so relaxed and comfortable. I think the reason is the huge amount of respect and honest interest you are showing. So thank you for that! Not necessary to mention, that after your interviews I adore Omar and Edvin even more (thought this was impossible) 💜💜
Oh I love how Omar was talking about Edvin and that he feels safe with him, I really want to have friendship like they have and I really like how Omar said it helped him a lot to love himself. Loved it all! Good questions.
It makes me so happy that Omar has grown in self-confidence and self-acceptance since doing the show. And I love that he and Edvin feel safe with each other. That says a lot of good things about the kind of people both Edvin and Omar are. 💜
Omar just declared the singular most important component of ANY relationship; be it person-to-person or with one's Divinity, and that is TRUST. He cited the trust he has in Edvin. So precious! That must be returned to be authentic as I sense that it is. They are utter magic together, partly because of trust. I pray that both are not too young to understand how rare and priceless that trust in one another truly is, both in front of the camera and beyond.
He is also doing a lot for representation. This role would have been normally played by a white guy. Omar is flying the flag for Latinos which is likely why he and the show are so popular in Brazil for example. As a person of colour, I cheer him for this also. Great casting decision.
One of your dealers - I actually just laughed out loud!!!!! So happy you loved the interviews and hope you enjoy the full chat on the podcast tomorrow, there is plenty more where this came from! Will be live from 6AM UK time! x
Omar is literally such an amazing person, he makes me feel so safe and happy and he has honestly saved me sm and hes my comfort person i feel happy in my own skin because of him. My dream is to one day meet this incredible person
That's such a kind thing to say and honestly what I wanted this podcast to be about! So thank YOU! And I hope you love the full podcast interview, will be available from tomorrow at 6am! x
I just recently have found your YT Channel and I love the interviews so much! They really make me laugh and manage to put a smile on my face. 🥰 I‘m the biggest YR fan right now, like I‘m literally obsessed with the series and with the cast , of course. It would be so great to see Edvin and Omar together again. 🥺 Would it be possible for you to create a podcast with Edvin AND Omar? This would really make my day . ❤
Just finished the podcast also the one before with Edvin and I loved it!!! 😍 both are so kind and natural in their behaviour with each other and way of thinking and speaking about things. Good and thoughtful questions by the way ...thank you for this great podcast ....this made my lunch break special 😁
No, thank YOU for watching and listening! Really means a lot! And don't forget the full interview with Omar will be on the podcast, and available from 6AM UK time tomorrow! Hope you enjoy it let me know what you think!
Thank you for everything you represent, Omar. You have no idea what wonder you and Edvin did on Young Royals! INCREDIBLE So much love and respect for you and your art ❤❤❤❤
wow I'm gonna be honest both interviews with edvin and omar made me cry like the way they saying that everyone should love themselves the way they are is just amazing and so yes I just think it's fabulous and them both are amazing I love them so much
I am so happy the interviews help you in that way - that's what the podcast is all about! The full interview with Omar will be on the podcast, and available from 6AM UK time - hope you love it!
I can not say enough how much these guys changed my look on life. They are so precious. Omar is gorgeous, not only his looks but his mind a soul as well. They both are younger then I am but have a way better look on everything then me xD
Amazing interview! Enjoyed this so much and really loved these questions and his answers! Love that this show helped him a lot with his self-love and confidence. Great to hear him talk about this. Omar is so beautiful and it's great the show helped him see that as well! And knowing that his friendship with edvin is closer now and that they're more comfortable with each other is awesome, the fact that they laugh more though hahaha. This was lovely and so is Omar, thank you for this!
I saw that the icons in the profiles for Netflix customers already made available the image of the actors and symbols of Young Royals (the crown and the Hillerska logo). Does this mean we'll get a third season?
Omar is so talented. It is so hard to believe that Young royal is his first show because in the show his acting was so good. And also a brilliant singer.💜
HE IS SO TALENTED!!! If you want more of the chat, you can listen to it in full on my podcast, Reign, too! Check it out here hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 and let me know what you think! Josh x

Question...is there anywhere to watch the full podcast and not just listen to them? Or will it just be the audio for the full 28 minutes? Same for Edvin's interview.
born to be doing everything they are doing. These two they are truly magic. I hate the smell of gum covering up coffee though more than the coffee breath itself. i don't know what neutralises coffee breath but anything else...have an orange i dont know so long as its not a cigarette or gum.
i love your interviews! they're/you're so thoughtful. (I wish he could've answered the friendship question in spanish or in swedish. i mean, the answer would've probably been similar but probably expanded upon a bit more.)
YAY! This makes me so happy! Don't forget the full interview with Omar will be on the podcast, and available from 6AM UK time tomorrow! Let me know your full review! Hope you enjoy listening!
I do not understand what they mean by coffee breath- they both drank coffee…. So wouldn’t they both just taste like coffee!?? Why is that so horrible?? 🤨🤨 I’ve kissed people who still taste like their coffee but I like coffee so???!!!!! SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME!
There are so many relatable moments in this show and this interview! If you want to hear more from Omar - and there's a Edvin episode too - make sure you check out the full interview on my podcast Reign here: hyperurl.co/i4yxt0 hope you enjoy!
