I thought the golden age of singing was past and then Kaufmann came along giving us all hope. Gorgeous song by Refice and wonderful expressive singing.
Jonas - you are wonderful in all respects. That voice - it haunts me day and night. He is the BEST and shows such emotion. Agreed, anyone who criticises needs to get on with their life ... anyone who doesn't apreciate Jonas is NOWHERE in this world.
I translated your comment. You are so wrong. I don't know what you were listening to but you cannot fabricate such a voice. He was born with this ability. It sounds a bit like sour grapes to me. If you don't like him Mr.Mylius, then don't listen to him. Calling him "Mr Pretty" is not very nice either - he was born with his looks so don't blame him for that.
Jonas thanks for your soul, voice and musical intelligence!!! I love Refice...and I want to share this music with the world! Look this new opera by Licinio Refice that I realized in Buenos Aires with Adelaida Negri! La Samaritana...Great work! We need singer like Maestro Kaufmann: a musician with a big heart!
Voix chaude, tendre et profonde de ce beau ténor au charme et au talent lumineux, sans aucune ombre au tableau, si ce n'est dans les nuages : vraiment magnifique ! Irina OLIVIER de BOURLAS
If any thing this is more nuanced than his recording of this song (included in the CD of verismo arias.)His In fernam land from the live stage performance is even more moving than this recording. What a great artist and singer.
NO ES LO MISMO EMOCIONARSE QUE EMOCIONAR. ESTE CANTANTE TIENE UNA EXTENSION VOCAL POCO COMUN, PERO... "OMBRA DI NUBE" ES UNA JOYA CELESTIAL QUE CONVIENE SER ABORDADA POR OTRO TIPO DE CANTANTES... SOBRE TODO EN EL REGISTRO AGUDO, A ESTA VOZ LE RESULTA IMPOSIBLE APIANAR Y ALIVIANAR LO NECESARIO... ANTE TODO CONVIENE SABER QUE NO DEBEMOS HACER... LUEGO ES MAS FACIL Y SIMPLE ELEGIR EL REPERTORIO.
Am I the only one who find his voice similar to Corelli's?I'm quite positive that he uses prety same tecnique-low larynx.Watch him in "Tosca" from ROH and pay atention on position of his Adam's aple-it stays down all the time.Anyway,he's just great.
and the only reason most cannot understand this is because they have not heard how sounds are really supposed to be produced. Sounds that the greats make are freer of constriction. He is talented unfortunately the sounds the greats used are no longer being taught... at least not by many. I think by maybe one.
Well I think I know what you are referring to but I couldn't disagree more. In my opinion he is a beautiful artist and singer, but if he is not for your taste then there is no need to insult people. It just makes you look petty.
Well, there's definitely a distinction between insulting people and speaking out the truth, and in latter case making this world a better abode for all men. It's so sad that a sizable number of people, including "davy91101" and "clevercloggs77" deign to have themselves steeped in self-degradation, a collective will that's even more abhorrent than mass suicide. And that's why an genuine soul, out of sympathy for mankind, would never stand back but steer those lost souls from nothingness.
Just Because you have "millions" that adore you doesnt make you great. You can pay top dollar to anyone and that doesnt make them great. An opinion is only valid when based upon the knowledge that one has pertaining to the subject. He still has many many years to go when considering greatness. The recordings on youtube are digitally enhanced and it is impossible to sing the falsetto he does at moments and be heard. Again, The tongue is thick like Giacomini. The last great tenor was Hadley 80's.
