This recording is brilliant in many ways but in particular how it incorporates the sounds of nature into the music. I never tire of listening to this rendering of Ombra Mai Fu and everytime I listen I hear something I hadn't heard before.

На счёт версии арии можно поспорить. Если считаться с тем что это оперная ария, и что это Ксеркс а не Клеопатра. Хотя и в некоторых постановках Ксеркса делают просто голубым. Но у Бартоли он просто женщина. Что касается самой певицы, то такой другой просто нет. Ни какая другая не имеет такой техники и виртуозности, как у неё. Причём эта техника не влияет на наполнение и блеск её голоса. Послушайте её Розину в Севильском цирюльнике.! Это надо слышать и видеть!

I love the timbre in the lower register. Glorious voice. Cecilia is a treasure with a unique voice. I only discovered the grandeur of Baroque music several years ago. I am in awe!
I first heard this melody sung in one of my favorite scenes in the film Dangerous Liaisons, and have heard other excellent versions, but I adore this setting, and her costume. But her voice? It just pours out of her like a golden liquid. So beautiful and restrained. A joy to hear.
