Years back on PBS TV she was on a video...basically introducing Cecelia Bartoli. Phenom! She explained how you learn to control every muscle of face and throat to produce and hold all those notes. They are not wasted expressions. They are masterfully controlled perfection.

@@MultiTHEJOKER coloratura indicates the agility in singing. The fast runs, the jumps up and down the octave, etc. She's a Mezzo coloratura, which is very very rare. Most Coloraturas are sopranos (think "Queen of the Night" or the "The Doll song") and they can get very high in tessatura. Whereas, Cecilia can get those low, rich notes.

Cecilia Bartoli, née le 4 juin 1966 à Rome, est une cantatrice mezzo-soprano italienne Cecilia Bartoli s'est spécialisée dans les interprétations lyriques de la musique baroque sans s'y cantonner pour autant. Elle représente une référence dans de nombreuses compositions de Bellini, Haendel, Mozart, Rossini et Vivaldi. Elle s'est rendue célèbre par la qualité de ses interprétations et sa virtuosité dans les rôles de soprano et de mezzo. Elle a notamment travaillé avec les chefs d’orchestre, Herbert von Karajan, Daniel Barenboim ou Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Elle a pris la direction du festival de Pentecôte de Salzbourg (Salzburger Pfingstfestspiele)[1] en 2012 et commence sa première saison à l'Opéra de Monte-Carlo dont elle est désormais la directrice.

Для того чтобы исполнять произведения бароковые не нужно гримасничать и кривляться - только потому что нинче на слуху всеобщем девальвация ценностей музыкальных от эстрады, слушатели классики уже не понимают элеменитарного в академ вокале: эдинство звучания всех нот звукоряда по подобию инструмента. С этой точки зрения Бартоли - профан. И, что вообще не допустимо для классики, - кривляка.

@@fritzh.8553 We have to understand the context of these arias. They were written to showcase the vocal acrobatics of the castrati singers for whom they were written. Often times, these arpeggios were sung in one breath.

Because Vivaldi's librettist was constrained to the part of Costanza, a minor character. The song says next to nothing, however beautifully. (On the positive side, Billie Eilish is a year into serious vocal study. Let's not underestimate this gal.)

Diese Frau enttückt mein Herz und macht mich glücklich. Eigentlich stehe ich auf Hartrock. Aber wenn Cecilia Bartoli in Hamburg ist mit ihrer wunderbaren Seele und für mich nur für mich si gt, für alle anderen narürlixh auch bin ich glücklich.... Absolutely mesmerizing rendition!!! I can't help but wonder if Vivaldi would be amazed to hear his piece delivered with such passion and technique. While Vivaldi may have composed with the intention of such vocal brilliance, it's doubtful he ever heard it sung like this in his time 🤯 This rendition seems to unlock a new dimension in his work, showcasing its full potential.
