Goodness having had my eyes offended by those complete and utters at the shit awards recently, it clarifies the mind as to how good this period of music was and remains.
@@IanLanc ALWAYS one who doesn't understand that music touches your soul, it never fades and stays with you throughout your time here in this world. Haters got HATE, i suppose.
This is OMD’s equivalent of scoring a Wonder goal! This track is just everything, almost Celtic sounding on the synths. As a kid it blew me away when it came out. Decades later I still totally love it.
Cooper at full stretch to make a great save, clearing it off the line. He throws it up to the pacy Humphreys...who gets past two defenders...what a through-ball to Humphreys, with his unorthodox running style...he's at the edge of the 18...sends in a cross to Holmes, who finishes the move off with a terrific header! ...and surely the outcome of the match is beyond doubt now. The OMD supporters at the opposite end of the ground are ecstatic.
I have been a OMD fan foer over 45 years, and have been to many concerts, and hope to see them at Leeds this year with a bestie friend. Timeless music. Kraftwerk went to see their rivals once upon a time.
Orchestral Manuevers... I was cheated! ! Too bad all I knew of them back in the 80s was _So In Love With You_ . Chances are they got alot more airtime in other major US cities. Unfortunately _So In Love With You_ was all that Dallas radio stations played of them in 1985-86. After '86 I didnt hear them again Here I am 30 years later, only just now beginning to learn that they werent simply a one-hit-wonder, but have tenure in the music business, & a complete body of work. I really cannot think of another band that compares, for such wide versatility & musical variety. Pink Floyd, perhaps? John Barry? Sir Karl Jenkins of Soft Machine, of DeWolfe Music's Take Six, & of Adiemus? It will be the most difficult challenge for me as a musician, just to follow along to their songs, & keep up with such rhythmic sophistication. Orchestral Manuevers truly are the very best of the New Wave/ Electronic age of pop... I have alot of catching up to do, but how very blissful. Magnificent
They have an unbelievable back catalogue of music I envy the fact that u will discover it as fresh & new music in this time of very lame music from manufactured bands! Enjoy!!👍
My 1st time" to see this video!!'.. they amused" me!!'.. there's some radio stations in the Philippines" that concentrates now!' in playing more of the 80's New Wave music!!'... Some New Waver's", are creating their own club of New Waver's!!'..in different places" here in the Philippines!!'.... We are Sick!' and Tired of hearing Rap' music!!'... I hope", New Brittish" and other European bands will now" revive the NEW WAVE" music!!'.. in this year" of 2024!!'.... Hey!!'... We have children" to continue" the New Wave music!!'..---- I'm from the Philippines!!'..😮.😊..
- Joan of Arc is a heroine known to the four corners of the world. This young girl fought and she has sacrificed her life for a cause that she believed to be just. She has shown exemplary bravery, an iron will and fidelity to her faith, the King and her land. His admirable fight and his tragic end touch all the hearts and make some tears flow. One can only bow to this figure at the symbol noble and legendary. His story should inspire every human being whatever his skin color or religion, his social level or place of life. Joan of Arc is an icon and a Saint for the eternity. She will be perhaps recognized and considered in the future as a universal heritage. (Google Translation from French to English)
She is my hero. I am not a religious person but she taught me so much about how to find inner strength through devotion and faith and that you need not be religious to have faith and devotion. "Hold the cross high so I might see it through the flames."
Die meistverkaufte Single 1982 in der BRD. The most selling single in (West) Germany in 1982. 39 Wochen in den Charts, 24 Wochen Top 10, vier Wochen Nummer 1.
Two of the best singers, brilliant lyricists and composers, and the world's most underrated drummer, especially on this particular song. Malcolm played a blinder on this song.
This is playback tho. Patsy can sing about as well as Patsy from Absolutely Fabulous. Her only talent was being born kinda pretty, for that time, and snorting huge amounts of coke. She was a terrible terrible lay and generally a cause for migraine.
Totally agree - can't stop playing it. It lifts me up & sets me down, takes me back to happy times & makes me think I should be doing more with my life now whilst I still can.
One of the very few from back then that are still creating new music and have not lost their way. There is OMD, Depeche Mode, U2 and then I can't think of others that can be counted on to always deliver - many have tried.
@@janmessemaker2100 I may have missed something, but of what I have heard it seemed more like them having a difficult time to make anything worthy of their first ten years. To be honest I see them as more a band that milk their past than really still being relevant.
If Joan of Arc had a heart Would she give it as a gift? To such as me who longs to see How an angel Ought to be Her dream is to give her heart away Like an orphan along the way She cared so much, she offered up Her body to the grave
I forgot about this tune, think I may even have it on vinyl in the attic. You never hear it on the radio and it's a classic, similar to Fade to Grey by Visage.
I think" this group" are well selected!!" from at Least" a hundreds of guy's!!'..that form this group!!".😊..❤.---- New Waver" ( 80's) from the Philippines!!"...
