This watch is still one of the most beautiful Aqua Terras, even nearly 4 years later. The rubber strap is the perfect choice over the bracelet. A nice casual daily wear.
Good honest review. Cal. 8900 has been called the best watch movement under $50k. It isn't even a matter of opinion. Nothing else out there even comes close to the specs.
@@DougFNJ Agree that the bracelet on this watch made me pass on it originally. However, on a rubber or leather strap with the deployment buckle it's a gem. I was looking at the Speedmaster Racing with the white "panda" dial but this watch is making me rethink that. FYI, if you want to talk about a brand that really fails on the bracelet front, look no further than Grand Seiko. They are just dreadful.
@@tomscott4438check out the bracelet on the White Birch SLGA009. Tried one on today and I love the bracelet. Wish it had micro adjustment but other than that it feels very well built and have enough taper for my. I have a 7.25” wrist
I had the same reaction to the bracelet, plus when I first looked at an Aqua Terra it still had the vertical lined dial. It also had a cheap feel to it overall. Loved the movement, but not much else. Now the case and dial are much improved, but the bracelet is not. I recently checked one out with the tan leather strap and loved it, so I put my order in today. I have a blue dial (pre-wave dial) Seamaster 300 and black Speedmaster, so this off-white dial is just what I was looking for.
I don't know what they were thinking with that bracelet. You know what they are capable of with that Seamaster Pro. The straps are nice and look great on the watch, but I always like to have that bracelet option.
@@DougFNJ foldover is acceptable but a serious watch maker/manufacturer will never use deployment which means: the movement of troops or equipment to a place or position for military action. "the authorities announced deployment of extra security forces in towns and cities to prevent violence" 2. the action of bringing resources into effective action.
I have this exact watch but on the ss bracelet butterfly clasp and while the watch is awesome great and accurate the ss bracelet is horrible bulky and uncomfortable. I am waiting for the rubber strap from Zealande

And that is why i am pissed as hell about all the hyper RU-vid focus on the amazing movement 8900 or the gorgeous dial when the entire watch wearing experience is much less than the $5,000 price. And why i not pyrchase a grand seiko because all the reviews are tripping over themselves on the amazing dial and movements but not a tweet about the bracelet or micro adjustable clasp. BUT ROLEX did do amazing ss bracelet with micro and sliding adjust and God damn it i am selling my bullshit om6egas and buying me that Rolex!

@@DougFNJ i suggest you so a comprehensive review on what makes stainless steel bracelet a freat dit or not from micro adjusts to glide lock from Rolex (god bless them) to bullshit omega
I’ve had the bracelet on a different dial AT and didn’t think it was that bad. Micro adjust would be nice, but just buy a 3rd half link and you’re set. The half links are slightly longer than the regular so it allows for a bit more room.
Great review Doug. Did this end up being a keeper for you? The orange isn’t too much? Looks fantastic. Debating on this silver/white model or the slate blue dial. Leaning this as I already have a blue dial.
Thanks for watching Nick. This watch was part of a bit of a journey for a white dial. First of all, I love a little orange on watches, adds a nice bit of pop, and it was definitely well done on this watch if you are looking for something more on the casual side. The Slate blue is nice, but it didn’t sing to me. I’d say if I were to go slate blue, I’d get it on the bracelet, but I did not like the Aqua Terra bracelet at all. In the end, I had traded up to the white dial Speedmaster Racing and ultimately ended up at the White Datejust. At this point I’m strongly contemplating trading that over to the Polar Explorer. If your blue dial watch is more on the conservative side, you may find it better if you really like blue? I do think the white is more versatile though. Please let me know what you ultimately decide.
Just tried on this again at AD. I love the watch dial and features of the AT. However, I just could not get pass the bracelet. The bracelet is really cheap and has not weight to it at all. It’s really poor in my opinion for the price tag. The bracelet on my Planet Ocean is way better quality.it’s sad because this is a great watch. Omega really need to address their bracelets, because this was a potential sale if not for the bracelet.
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. I agree 100% on the bracelet. The Seamaster Pro original bracelet was one of the most comfortable on a watch that you could find. They sharpened the sides a bit, and I understand what they were looking to do with modernizing, but it lost something with it. The bracelet on this was confusing. Incredibly uncomfortable with that long clasp against the wrist.The lack of sizing options, no micro adjustments, not the quality I am used to. On the flip side, they have been incredible with their leather and rubber straps. The deployment is high quality.
